This thread is used to keep record of each community tournament with all the information related to it and all that was shared by the participants during the tournament. If you're interested in watching some highly strategic team building and PvP matches then take a browse below.

The Beritus Argvel Trophy #1 (May-Jan 2019-20)

Special rules:

Everyone picks “captain” and “vice captain” monsters. The captain must be used in every team they make for the tournament, unless it breaks a rule in which case the vice captain is used. If neither can be used, the match is lost.

1, 2 and 3 were used in the group stage. 4, 5 and 6 were used in the quater-finals as a best of three. 7, 8 and 9 were used in the semi-finals as a best of three. 10, 11 and 12 were used in the finals as a best of three.

1. No chrono monsters. Must include a 0-4 star monster for every 6 or 7 star monster.

2. No blood moves. Only two elements allowed (one being captain’s). Using a blood move results in instant loss.

3. No stun. No protect. Taunt is allowed and stun/protect monsters allowed but using the stun/protect move results in instant loss.

4. Element challenge: 1x legendary or mythic from each element, 1x super epic from each element and the last four can be any element with 1x epic, 1x 3*, 1x 2* and 1x 0-1*.

5. Element revenge: Loser of previous battle chooses an element, they create a team using only that element. Other person creates a team using only the element which the chosen element is strong against. E.g. Loser chooses water so the winner must use fire. Captain must be included even if outside the element, rocks and other summoned monsters ignore the element restriction.

6. Captain’s curse: Use both captain and vice captain. All other monsters cannot be the same element as those two monsters.

7. Offense wins games, defense wins championships: All fights 10v10, normal captain rules and best of three…
   a) Player A creates a team with first 5 monsters being protectors. Player B no restrictions.
   b) Player B creates a team with first 5 monsters being protectors. Player A no restrictions.
   c) Unrestricted team building.

8. Scout’s warning: Winner of previous battle creates a 14-monster team. They choose two monsters to “hide”, remove them, then take a screenshot to send to the opponent before replacing them. The loser of the previous battle creates a 16-monster team after seeing the screenshot sent by the opponent.

9. Accomplice dilemma: No captain, use vice captain instead. Create a team using only two elements: the vice captain’s element and the one weak to that.

10. Taste of versatility: For each half of the team it must include one monster from each of the eight archetypes. The first half must have monsters which fit only one archetype. The second half can contain monsters which are part of multiple archetypes, but for each extra one they are part of you must reduce the size of your team by one. The eight archetypes chosen are: stun, poison, sleep, give turn, mortar, protector, token disruption, revival.

11. Unlucky draft: Each player picks one monster in turn while announcing it to the other in a chat. They both build a team with the 16 monsters chosen. Winner of the previous battle picks first.

12. The meta isn’t fun to play: No auto-protectors, no Bloomeluga, no Dusicyon.

Note: KLF dropped out of the tournament in week 2.

Special rules:

Participants have been put into groups. Each week they face someone in their group with three battles. They get +3 for each win, +1 for a draw and +0 for a loss. If a person wins all three battles they get an extra point. Hence maximum points for any individual is 10 each week, 40 for all the battles. At the end of the tournament the 1st and 2nd player of each group will get an additional point. Group F contains the best player put forward by each clan so they get two additional points for 1st and 2nd. If a participant does no battles one week they get -2 points and the other person gets the full +10 points.

Special rules for the three battles are as follows:

1. 173 team cost limit, all secret skills on, no 0-4 cost monsters and no Canishogun.

2. Only two elements in your team. Must NOT include the following element:
   week 1 - Earth
   week 2 - Fire
   week 3 - Storm
   week 4 - Water
   week 5 - Holy and Shadow

3. No special rules.

Players may substitute out on weeks they cannot play for another member of the clan. This substitute must do all three battles for that week. Only four substitutes allowed for each clan over the course of the tournament.

Note: Since KLF dropped out of the tournament, all clans were automatically given wins against KLF for weeks 2+. All week 1 results were counted as wins for points, but are still listed as they happened. Only the wins against KLF players from week 1 are counted as “wins” in the personal summary tables, despite the points all being added.

Special rules:

Max total team speed = 150.
Best of 3.
Each player can change team in-between matches.
Players are knocked out after their second loss. In the grand final the person who hasn’t lost yet in the tournament must lose twice in order to get knocked out.

Structure:

Participants have been put into groups. Over the course of the month they face everyone in their group with three battles. They get +3 for each win, +1 for a draw and +0 for a loss. If a person wins all three battles they get an extra point. Hence maximum points for any individual is 10 each week, 40 for all the battles.

There are no special rules for any of the battles.

If battles are not done then no points are granted to either side. One person dropped out because they’d quit the game so it was decided all their opponents would get 10 points for those matches.
