Thank you for the feedbacks guy.I totally understand many of you don’t like the recent bonus potion change. There are few honest reasons behind this change:
More advantage for potting a monster to +9.
Balance between Mythic and other monsters. For example, you only need 1 copy to make Legend work while Mythics require 4 of them. Don’t get me wrong. As a dev, we love to see Legends, Super Epics and even lower rank monsters performing excellently in PvP and PvE, because neomon is a heavy strategy game. But in the other hand, it is not a good sigh for the company if the highest rank monsters are not outright stronger and useful than the others. Obviously we don’t want to see Legends evolve in the same way as Mychic, or make Mythic even more powerful. Thus, this bouns change is applied. We want the players with multiple copies of second form mythic have more advantage in term of tu reduction.
A little more advantage for spenders. For the players going for awakening mythics, we want the Legend / Super Epic duplicates they hatch on the way to be more valuable.
We want to put the game in a state where players need to make a decision on choosing and potting their monsters to +9 as their ace monsters. This would make the battle more diversified and affect team building.
Make the bonus potion system simpler and somewhat consistent with mythic shard. Therefore, we chose 3, 6, 9. We are still receiving significant amount of new users. Neomon battle is complicated enough, so we are trying make other things more straightforward and intuitive.
I am regret to say there will not be a compensation. Because this change apply to all the players. Although +5 and +3 have the same tu reduction, the +5 monster is still faster and only needs 1 more potion to get another 5% tu reduction.
Thank all of you, Neomon has been operating more than 4 years and still doing very well, which is a great great achievement for a mobile game. This market changes so fast, there are many games come and go. We need to adjust ourselves in order to fit in the current meta too. (Probably you can guess why sexy girls are here. I promise, we will still focus on monster monsters) Anyway, thank you again for playing neomon and understanding.
So if this modification is going to be permanent I hope that the legendary potions will increase in all the events, even, I think that from the next pvp they should double the potions, from the first part to the qualifying pvp. Thank you very much for the explanation given above and keep creating new events that are very interesting and entertaining.
Excellent Statement @Dev_VKC. I can fully understand your motives there and it’s great to hear Neo is still going strong after all these years
I still think a little compensation would have been nice but I see where you are coming from. Keeping the game competitive has to be the number 1 priority. For the future: If you have the time and it’s a sensible issue like that maybe you could consider to give us a more detailed explanation on some changes like you just did. It always helps to better understand why a change was made.
Thanks again for taking your time to give out further explanation
Who said they aren’t outright stronger? Mythics are incredibly strong(except Mistletorment) The defense on many of them is just ridiculous. So hard to kill. Plus you already reduced the cost some updates ago. That was horrible.
There are some super epics that are way more powerful than Legends, do you want to nerf them too? Honestly the game was better the way it was before the pot update and Mythics are way too strong as is.
I don’t want compensation though. I just want each pot to have an impact.
The way mythics are now, skill is being put in the toilet. Money buys wins. That’s not fun.
Also lots of spenders don’t have Awakened mythics. So it’s not really fair for them. These changes only cater to the Whales. I can understand why you would do that, there is some fairness to that and it’s business in the end of the day. But don’t do it at the expense of skill and strategy… Please.
Don’t take what I’m saying the wrong way. I love this game and think the Devs in the forum are pretty cool. I know there are investors and higher powers that have a say in this…
Good hunters have good prey. Kamishogun easy to kill sakuralisk! Some people ask that no one uses Kam in this years, but for the noble myth, it’s enough to have a natural enemy.
Which myth can kill dracor in the first round? Magmar? And Moku?
Maybe not a compensation, but what if you were to adapt the Dupe system to fit these changes @Dev_VKC? Like dupes give +2 to Epics, SE, and Legends instead of +1. This gets them close enough to need a pot for an actual boost without making it an instant boost like with Mythics, so it’s still a differing factor. For me personally, the bigger issue isnt about the amount of legend potions I’ve invested not mattering anymore, it’s the Legendary Dupes I’ve wasted hatches with not making a difference anymore. This might be a good middle ground for the system.
This would also mean more Epic and SE potions faster so they can actually be exchanged for Legend pots instead of just sit there, and it means Legends able to max out quicker to get tickets instead. This still supports the purchase system you are supporting as getting multiple packs and multiple legends will have more value and thus be more enticing to the spenders.
I don’t agree with this sudden change of sides . We all knew they changed the potion system to match the mythic system from the beginning . He just added some fancy business statements .
Moreover mythics in final forms are incredibly stronger than a legendary . Things are not adding up but they forcing it down .
How don’t you see it? It’s clear: they feel that it’s too easy to “max out” a legend compared to a mythic and want to balance it out by “nerfing” legendary bonuses. And also recompensate high spenders more to encourage them to awaken mythics. To me it sounds that it’s a small step again towards pay2win.
But if it’s for real , I can’t understand how an official explanation suddenly satisfied some of ur rage and seems completely fair and understandable . As if u all dint even have a clue that the changes were related to strikingly similar system of mythics and vkc explanation cleared it out . Sure .
Anyways , smile gate never listens to players’ opinions or complaints . Right from the beginning I knew nothing would change or get compensated .
I just wanted to say it’s okay to disagree with devs eventhough they cherry their unreasonable explanations .
Peace.
PS : I’m not complaining about the change but the way it was executed . They took us for granted with least gratitude whatsoever . This makes me unhappy and hope they don’t repeat this in future .
A big change needs to be announced in advance . Give us enough time to get ready and then implement.
I guess some people is my daily passive aggressive non mention, so here we go:
1.) Yes, there was a change of tone but it’s probably because I respect the effort to explain a change to the community. That was one thing I demanded and I prefer deescalating things in general.
2.) I still said that a little extra compensation would be nice.
3.) What’s the point in further arguing? It was made clear that this change is permanent and that there will be no compensation. Of course I am disappointed but in that case I have to accept my defeat and the fact that I won’t get what I want.
4.) A very good friend of mine who suffers from a lung disease anyway has been diagnosed with covid 19. I don’t know if I will ever see him again. Sometimes things happen that put other things into perspective. I just felt wrong to further argue about legend potions in neomonsters when somebody I grew up with will fight for his life in the next days. So I chose to go with a friendly reply because further arguing seemed pointless.
Also I made the exact same comment in one of the original threads about this matter! For example in Hearthstone you know when a card series is retired and can get ready to dust your cards and stop spending on that card pack.
