Mission Fair Practice Policy

good point, just clarified the policy, getting it off the event eggs don’t count as winning, so you are still in the easy pool.

You didn’t win obviously what you think

I’m pretty sure I was able to feed all the mission egg Arks to my monsters in the last OM…
(… And by pretty sure I mean… I was able to. I gained a lot of levels during that run)

it actually was enable the first hour or 2 i think. we got a comment that went something like “now the game is boring because its too easy after feeding those monsters”, and turned it off.

Well, if you think about it, what if some people are always camping out waiting for it to start? You can’t claim that some of us aren’t the most devoted players because some of us, yes, SOME OF US, actually have things to do and live life. We play as much as we can, but we can’t always camp out. We are exhausted by the days work. We. Cannot. Spend. Our. Lives. Stuck. In. Front. Of. A. Screen because sleep is very important.

Um, sorry, accidentally quoted two people. Referring to second quote

What I meant with 1% taken from the 10% is that the players of pool A are actually competing against those from pool B so if let’s say in the second week there are 10 players in pool B then there is the chance that all players from pool A are doing the 10% faster than pool B and none of the players in pool B gets a monster because pool A completed it too fast, that way they “steal” the 1% from players in pool B

I’m not sure if people are understanding this policy. If you won a prize this week, you’re in pool B. If not, you’re in A. If 10,000 people finished the mission this week, then for the next mission, if you’re in A, you compete for 10% (1000) spots, and if you’re in B you compete for 1% (100) spots.

These two pools are completely separate. How are they competing against each other?

So am I really understanding something wrong here? I’m kinda confused now haha

Hmm… maybe I’m the one missing something here! I took it as though the two pools are completely separate, but if the spots for pool B are included in the spots for pool A, then that just makes it that much harder for those who won a prize I suppose. That would actually be similar to what currently is in existence. Currently there are two pools and anyone in pool A can take the top (for example) 100 spots and also an additional 100, but players in pool B can only take the top 100. So they compete with A for that 100 but once it’s filled up, A get an extra 100. This new policy is based on that I guess.

Hogee - Realize that pretty much nobody thought that it was hard. It was incredibly easy. SO easy that it was over in a half an hour. THAT is why people are complaining. People expected to be able to get an event, but they were long gone by the time the woke up. I don’t think that you were one of the people who stayed up late to finish the event a half an hour after it was released, only to find out that you barely missed the cutoff. If you did, then you’d be in the same boat. If not, then you have no right to tell other people that it’s fine.

Regardless, a solution has been provided, and it looks like it might work. We’ll see what happens. This is brand new, so errors are understandable.

Mltias - I am not sure, but I believe that fusing does not count as a win. I hunk they’re talking about the first 100.

EDIT: that moment when you realize that you weren’t on the last page, and respond to old comments…and your post is absolutely uselessz

Yes, fusing doesn’t count.

I think the main problem is that a weekly event should actually last a week, not 30 minutes. i know it’s hard to find a solution to make sure everyone is happy, and that’s why i think that giving an opportunity to win the main prize without having to rush the event was a great thing. I really hope this secondary options will stay. If not a fusion, maybe a place where people who didn’t win the monster right away can farm it the whole week, and as soon as you have it you can’t go there anymore.

I agree and hope that the next mission ups the difficulty.  During beta I couldn’t even get to the final boss level, much less beat him.  And on some missions that was even with only 2-3 floors between me and the boss.  The top finishers should not be the fastest fingers.  They should at least require a pretty good team and good strategy.

I agree, the online mission would be nice if it lasted days instead of hours, but there will always be players who play without sleep until they finish, beating out those of us who require a bit of sleep or have lives and stuff.  Maybe some sort of timer in place if you need to use a portal.  Like you can only use a portal once every 12 hours.  That’s probably not the best idea, I’m just brainstorming.  But ultimately I don’t care if I get beat by a better player if they put in the effort and didn’t simply luck out on the timezone timing.

Could it be an idea to instead of giving out a limited number of event arcs, give out an indefinite number to those who complete a certain task ?

Say those who can finish the event quest in under 2h (of real game time and not 2h even if you’re not on) ?

That way everyone gets a chance to accomplish it

and it won’t matter if you wake up before or after of whatever as long as you do it during the week ?

That’s actually a very good idea. The hour can be adjusted as well, depending on difficulty.

Or maybe find another type of quest ? Like find a specific boss hidden in the big dungeon ?

I mean you could have a lot of diversity in the tasks yet still give everyone a go at winning based on themselves and not on how others played the game :D

Ia that’s a great idea, resolves the timezone problem too

My solution? Add said mission Arkadion’s to an area where you can farm them with a 5% spawn rate. That way, you can farm for them if you didn’t manage to obtain any. Simple enough…

This! Best idea I have seen in this topic. I mean, people were complaining enough that the game wasn’t out in their timezone when it first released and many sat up waiting until stupid o’clock (including myself…)

People will actually miss out because of the time difference and for some people, even being in pool B doesn’t mean they will win anything if they manage to only compete during the last day of the mission and the 1000 prizes are given out (forgive me if I’m wrong?)

Here, Zys idea gives everyone a chance WITHIN the week to get it within a time period and actually makes the weekly mission last a week.
Great idea indeed!

EDIT: I don’t usually talk on forums but this was too much of a good idea to not support it. Kudos.

Unless I misunderstood, that’s not a great idea. We don’t want to give out an indefinite amount of the Arkadion under any circumstances. The monster needs to stay rare and in limited supply. We need to work with that as a foundation.

As for the pools, even if people in mission B fail to get the reward for whatever reason, the system is set up using percentages. That way, even those people will eventually be guaranteed a prize within the season. So, one prize per season is the theoretical minimum for all players.

Though I’m not sure how new incoming players will affect this system.
