Because second form is way easier to obtain. Obviously. Read my post up about Gangrilla and Don Rilla.
I understand this too but where is the Warning that says that my Lambo can be changed before buying?
I read the forum, so I know that monster can be nerfed … but there are people who don’t follow the forum, who just ‘‘rented’’ and they didn’t knew there was a rent instead of a sale.
It seems just that a lot of things in this game are given for ‘‘Normal’’ only because they have been written in a tiny disclaimer.
I won’t give up on my dreams as easily as you will @Saitama
I wanna be the very best like no one ever was
If you get countersued as a result from taking legal advice from someone like @Mr.X who knows nothing about the American legal system, maybe you deserve what happens to you for being a greedy moron.
Don’t make me get @GMagic
I agree with you on pretty much everything you said here. Realistically, people need to realize that the game is a numbers game, it’s also a hobby. As a hobby, you need to invest real money into it to keep it going as there isnt much in a hobby to compensate you for doing it, otherwise that’s called a job. People can enjoy hobbies freely, and people can spend for hobbies as well. This is why, regardless whether you pay to play this game or not, you cannot win “real money” in this, therefore it will always be a hobby. Enjoy it one way or the other, it makes no difference to me, but as a mainly F2P player, I enjoy the game perfectly fine as that hobby, and on occasion I am fine with spending a little to reinforce that hobby.
If someone wants to compare this to an online console/PC game where you can win money, this is true, but you still paid the initial investment of the games cost and console cost and controller cost plus your electric bill to enjoy that hobby. Nothing in the world is free and someone will always have to pay for it.
Enjoy as you will people but there shouldn’t be a complaint about it.
As far as second form goes, I agree there should be a nerf, but probably only to defense or make her passive not quite as strong in second form. You can go far without paying actual dollars but at the end of the day, you should be doing this because you enjoy it, regardless of monetary investment.
Not at all. The first year there were no free players being properly competitive. Free players hadn’t built their collections yet. In fact, PvP was almost entirely determined by front lines so you needed specific monsters to win. Shockers and TT were basically the only way to turn around a match. The game has been P2W vs F2P friendly ever since. When mythics came out they made limited legendaries start dropping like mad (10x featured the whole time) so while it’s easier for P2W players to get an advantage with their mythics it’s equally easier for free players to get a collection of powerful limited monsters. The overall result: more people in the competitive environment. This is what I’ve noticed after the last 1.5 years and other than a few OP mythics I haven’t felt like it’s impossible to beat top spenders.
Basically, this isn’t a P2W vs F2P issue. It’s just that when some monsters are made too OP they need nerfing.
I think the vast majority of the community will disagree with you on this one. The Devs have prided themselves on making this NOT a P2W game. Spending will give you a significant advantage but strategy and clever gameplay decisions will always trump that. That’s the Devs design with the game and what they hope to achieve (they’ve said it explicitly on the forum and to people multiple times).
I’m not quite sure what to say about this. That’s a gross misquote and a conversation where you were contradicting yourself. In that conversation I was saying that balanced monsters are important for the game and just because a monster is hard to obtain is no excuse for making it OP. I said how if sleep immunity was a problem on Don Rilla it should be removed from both forms, not just the second form. You were going on about it being a really big problem but fine on the final form because awakened mythics are meant to be OP.
You make every single issue a P2W vs F2P issue even when it has nothing to do with that. Please stop being so rude to free players.
It’s in the TOS and otherwise a very common thing in any game of this type. All digital property is owned by the company and can be changed or removed (e.g. termination of the game) at their discretion. Legally they have almost all the power, as long as they don’t slip up like if they listed something as a festival with boosted chances on something when it isn’t.
One of the big reasons why games like Neo use in-game currency to obtain monsters rather than buying them directly with money is because it protects them legally. We buy a set amount of gems with our money then what we get with them is at our own discretion and can be changed without repercussions far more easily.
Not sure if this matters but I just googled a definition for p2w games and this game easily fits that. “P2W is used in gaming with the meaning “Pay to Win” to refer to games that allow players to purchase items or abilities (e.g., more powerful weapons, additional health points) that give them an advantage in the game, either over other players or NPCs (Non-Player Characters).”
Technically yes, but people use it more liberally to describe whether the advantage gained by spending is enough that free players cannot have a chance to compete with them or not.
I guess so. It isn’t impossible to beat p2w players but they’ve always had a huge advantage over f2p players especially when you compare them by how much they’ve been playing.
I wasn’t here in the beginning but this seems like what the real issue is.
Neo is a P2W game that’s always flirted with F2P players, now that the global economy is not looking so great she’s choosing up and catering to the hand that feeds her and her side pieces are upset.
Now a serious question for F2P players that play more than casually.
If you love the game so much why would you not support it financially?
I’ve been racking my brain and I can’t think of a single reason other than to boast to p2w players.
It can’t be a money issue since everything cost money including the phone and internet service, also you can purchase gems for as little as $0.99 here in the US.
If I lose a game to someone who has spent more real world money on that said game than I have I see that as completely fair, no matter how much time I’ve spent or how clever I think my strategy is.
Same thing I said lol
@DMG_LUCKDRAGON you sir are a gentleman and a scholar lol
I would love to support this game financially but there aren’t any deals which look worth the money for me. I have a large collection of good monsters so any one extra monster won’t make much difference. I would much rather farm the free gems and see what I get. There are deals I would absolutely open my wallet for.
I speak only for myself. I’m sure many free players would remain free players and complain if the kind of deals I’d open my wallet for appeared.
I think the dev should reduce the amount of free.gems acquired from free online event.
That would way better to make game more healthier and to improve the new monster design, not to mention the tits design were a huge magnet of chaos.
xD yes let’s totally kill F2P!
For one time I agree with Killerdog, deals for paying gems is not good at all.
Let’s say I spend 40 euro for 74 gems…with this amount of money I can buy a full game AAA on Steam.
With almost 80 gems you can roll 2 packs…How many times I rolled 2 packs and find abosolutely nothing…Too many, but even if it happens that you find something, can the cost of finding a legend be equivalent to years of development of AAA games for PC …yes and unicorn are flying freely in the sky!
@Killerdog thank you for taking the time to answer and it makes perfect sense as I feel like this sometimes too.
But it does raise 2 more questions from me though.
Is Bastia not making enough of a difference? Therefor worth the gems?
I’m sure everyone would like to know what hypothetical deal or monster you would spend on?
We are all here were not f2p, we paid for the apps
Unless if someone using free apps on the web :))
I completely agree with what @DonT89 has said,
The game was very friendly to f2p players and that was the golden era of Skill-Neo some manged to be top 10 and soo many others manged to be top 50 something that is impossible to achieve in almost every other gacha game that came to existence.
Times have changed and f2p players should understand that from here on now things will only get worse, more and more mythics will be introduced that are on the same power as Bastia and even more powerful thats how the game thrives, it is built on power creep.
The game will never stand on fair grounds again and you should come to the conclusion that you will get demolished when you go up against a mythic team.
Best thing to do is forget the leaderboard and enjoy the game as a casual player.
The best thing i could imagine the devs doing to the game is splitting pvp into two modes.
Mode 1- All monsters are usable and you have more team cost to spam your mythics. ( Earn better rewards for Pvp) Basically only whales will play this mode, cash and little skill in team building will determine the leaderboard.
Mode 2- Mythics are banned and its the normal 206 team cost (You earn slightly worse rewards then mode 1) i expect this mode will have the majority of the players and will be more competitive as players will play on the same ground so skill in team building and decision making will determine the leaderboard.
Will this ever happen ofc not as expect no one will care about mode 1 and obtain mythics.
Speaking for myself, I would happily drop £100-200 a year on Neo if I thought it would bring me more fun. I spend about £200 a year on games already as I play PS5 games (AAA, not bothered by indie titles) and KingsRoad (a browser/mobile) game. I used to treat myself each Birthday and Christmas to £50 on a free-to-play game but I haven’t done that for ~3 years since KingsRoad hasn’t been worth spending on and Neo has never been.
What I’d look for is spending ~£20 for a fun monster that is otherwise not available. I’d also consider spending for a bundle of legendary potions, e.g. £5 for 10. I’ve had a few other ideas but can’t remember them now.
In KingsRoad I didn’t spend for the first 1.5 years of playing. In that game you build some things slowly over time and spending can help speed it up. With that setup I choose to play for free. What got me spending was they brought out cash deals for some unique and powerful items plus occasionally I’d spend on some “stretch goal” where you can get most of the way for free / with gems and I didn’t have enough gems at the time so I bought some. I think there’s a lot of opportunity for Neo to do similar things where they occasionally give bonuses in eggs for buying X packs so it encourages people to open that many.
KingsRoad did a good job of targeting things at different parts of the playerbase. Some huge bonuses for spending big, powerful and unique things for spending small (e.g. £20-30) and a few cheap grabs that a lot of people will get (e.g. £5 for 10 6* pots). Right now all Neo does is give benefit to people who pour loads of money into the game, from what I can tell.
