Update will never come... My two cents

Honestly, the “update” was supposed to come back in December. I havent played this game since then waiting for the “update” but in reality this update isnt coming is it. The Devs got all lazy and decided to make another game instead of building upon and fixing the one they already have. IS it honestly that difficult to nerf like 3 monsters? I dont think so. Back in December it was the “OH but apple is closed over the holidays” bull and now it is almost April… I am 99% sure that the devs have gave up on this game and are working on the new game 100%. There will be no addition to the story, no nerf, no updates, no fix at this rate. What kind of game updates once a year? With it being so popular, you would think that things would speed along but nope… Its all a ploy to get all the current HI players to buy the new game once it comes out. The problem is that this new game is probably going to suffer the same fate as this one. Once it gets popular and the devs get all your money, they kick it to the curb and move on to the next game.

Au revoir Hunter Island, it was a pleasure while it was still fun…

  1. So many problems with that paragraph
  2. U must not read the forums because all most everything u said was explained
3.the update wasn’t even announced until February
4.half the team is working on HI the other on the new game.
Someone else can tell u the rest, there’s just too much stuff to correct
  1. Bye.

  2. Bye.

  3. Bye.

  4. You took long enough to type that but couldn’t take five seconds to search the forums for updates on what the devs are doing, LET ALONE RYAN SAID LAST NIGHT THEY’RE ALMOST FINISHED TESTING THE UPDATE.

  5. Bye.

I only have this to add.

  1. Paragraph looks fine to me

  2. I read the forum and just saw mods telling us to be patient

  3. The update was announced back in December, but it took until February to post a topic about it

  4. Even with half a team, 4 months to update a game is insane

Lol, did i hurt your feelings crystal? And In January they told us they were almost finished with the update so your argument is worthless

My argument is worthless? You’ve posted in half the sub-forums complaining about an update about the update that you didn’t even read, because you keep quoting January, when the update about the update was posted in February. If you took as much time as you spent trolling the forums and actually read what the devs said, then maybe you wouldn’t be so upset and supposedly rage quitting the game. But instead you simply reply with no argument or basis other than something that happened months ago, possibly before they even knew they were going to have to switch coding engines. You try to do all of that with a 4-person team, of which all also have personal lives and families. Even with a standard 40-hour work week, the fact they’ve been able to accomplish all of that in 4 months is astonishing, especially because they were also in the hiring process of new team members AS WELL AS DEVELOPING TWO NEW GAMES.

By the way, I have superior GIF/meme prowess, so don’t even.

The guy is upset and has all the right to tell how he feels.

All I see is less and less people playing and just because of a simple fix that could be implemented months ago.

You guys can try and defend all you want, but until a proper answer is given, people will keep posting, complaining and questioning.

As a customer you should be advised that you are buying a buggy app who won’t be fixed in less than 6 months.

I swear that people don’t even read.

Why not selling the franchise to a company who is willing to keep the game alive and really work on it?

Such a pity to see a game with a huge potential going to waste.

The “update” has been in its final stages for the last 4 months… Do YOU even read?

Actually, I do. And to prove that you’re incapable of anything but sheer ignorance, let me spell it out for you.

In FEBRUARY, they announced that they are migrating to a new coding engine. This isn’t, as I’ve stated before, a game that requires little to no coding like Flappy Bird. This is thousands upon thousands of lines of code and I’d love to see you even get that accomplished in a month. For all the complaining you do, you’re sure trying to make it sound like you think you can do a better job? Go ahead. Be my guest and try it.

Another factor taking up our time is that we are simultaneously moving our engine from Cocos2d to Unity. This involves rewriting nearly 50% of our code, but this will allow us to develop more complex games in a shorter timeframe. We can also transfer future games to other platforms, which is a huge plus for us and fans who don’t have iOS devices.

As I already stated, Ryan said that they are in the final stages of testing the bug fix/pvp issue update.

On top of this, they have personal lives to take care of as well as weekly events, that also take up time. As I also already stated, they have been in the hiring process for two new members, so again, that also takes up time.

Ryan also answered the question as to why a quick fix wasn’t submitted, so anyone complaining about them not answering it has no backing there.

No, they’re not abandoning the update.

Look, they haven’t stopped working on HI yet, either!

The other thing is that HI has an ending. There wasn’t ever an intention of adding more story to it. So yes, while people may hope and plead for more, unfortunately no, it’s not going to happen. That’s where the ‘sequel’ comes in. As stated somewhere above, Ryan said that you can migrate some arks over, too.

The biggest problem with people who troll like you, ‘The Assassin,’ is that all you do is complain. You offer nothing as constructive feedback. You said you quit back in December until the update, then why are you trolling the forums if it hasn’t come yet, hmm? That’s seemingly hypocritical.

By the way, yes, I do read. Maybe you’ll actually read this post.

Assassin did you read this at all, or did you just jump on making this post assuming there was no word on the update?  The devs have been working on the update but there have been some set backs and reworks that need to be done, every game ever made has these.

However everyone here needs to take a chill pill and not go at each other’s throats or spam gif pictures.

I have one more thing to say. I heard that admin had a baby a few weeks ago. If you all think this update for a game that I think is amazing as it is, is more important then a living human being then u are crazy.
You could atleast be supportive instead of negative. If I owed money to someone I’d take longer on purpose if they were a jerk, I would be faster if they were nicer.

I need to applaud you two for resorting to gifs. Throughout the entire thing I wasn’t sure if I should grin or scowl. Congratulations.

On the other hand, I apologize you feel that way, Assassin. No one is keeping you here, so good bye. I’m just saddened that many people are leaving because of the same reason, and yes, I understand why. But that doesn’t mean I agree.

People seem to think that Hunter Island is all about PvP and online missions. Did they forget about PvE? Some games cost even more than a mere 0.99 cents and they don’t have multiplayer at all.

I’m a PvE-only person and I can honestly, confidently say that Hunter Island is well worth 0.99 cents. The art, story, and gameplay are all fun, and I really had a pleasant experience in completing the story. The update will come, and if it doesn’t, then you can quote me on this and tell me how wrong I was. But the update will come, and even if it doesn’t, though it will, Hunter Island is worth my money and I’m sure it’s worth yours too. People saying they paid for Hunter Island for a buggy app make me very disappointed. Hunter Island has never, ever failed me. It never crashes, and I have seen and experienced ZERO bugs as I completed PvE.

PvP, yes, it’s buggy. But PvP is not what Hunter Island is. PvE is just as important as PvP. So don’t complain about the entire app being buggy if you’re not even going to take into consideration the solo play aspect of this game, which, by the way, is one of the very few games I played that is close to being flawless… or is flawless.

Otherwise, thanks for playing Hunter Island, and thanks for being apart of our community as long as you did. Good luck, and I hope you find a game you like better.

Was not expecting to see this post…

Ok this got quite out of control. But i will point out back in december there was a post stating they had completed the update but they submitted it to late to apple and they were closed over the xmas holidays. Now that is a fact!

Yes it is a ling time to wait as they took it back and done all this. Im so impatient its unreal. But just forget about it and dont let it bug you. Thats what i have done. I log in on a sayurday night now do the om and thats me lol.

That could have been an unofficial post that someone assumed was true. If you could quote an actual developer saying that, do so.

And as for taking it back, if it was true, then of course they would to add on to it for a bigger update. If Apple was closed the quick fix wouldn’t have been a quick fix anyway.

I am going to have ask you not to call anyone any names and such. (that meme you put up)  If you feel the Devs gave up on the game then quit and save the complaints to yourself. The devs explained explained what was happening and the update is coming. This is a team of 5 Devs and testing everything out takes time. They had to nearly rewrite the whole game codes they had around feb for the update because an issue came up and that takes time to do.

Don’t want to stick around then fine go ahead and quit or come back every month and check up on it. But the update is coming and everyone has to be patient.

Proper Answer has been given please feel free to read the general chat about hunter games it is in there

Whether this guy is right or wrong is not the point. The fact of the matter is, since the update is taking so long there are a lot of people leaving this game and people will continue to do so until the new game comes out.

And… we’re supposed to do what about that? Beg them to stay?
