If you look at the discussion from yesterday, I suggested it and he immediately agree, saying I should take care of it for him
So does that mean this poll is kinda pointless now since killerdog already agreed to having a few community polls to resolve the most controversial of his placements?
No. If there’s anything we’ve established, my opinion is not enough to decide things. We must do a poll to see if people decide together that they want to have the ability to do a poll to decide together that they want to overrule my decision on a monster placement
I think it’s still important to get a feel for what the community wants. The forum is for the community at the end of the day
I applaud this self-growth ![]()
I mean, he made like over a dozen tier list changes based on my input just the other day. It’s not like he doesn’t base a huge portion of his decisions off of community (top player) feedback.
Albakhan need to be drop by atless 2 tier if not 3
This is why I prefer killerdog managing the tier list.
I don’t understand why people fight about this. A monster being placed higher/lower on tier list doesn’t change his abilities. So why bother at all?
Less experienced and newer players look at this and treat it as the word of God for what to save gems for and roll for.
If [I’d like community voting for the tier list] has a higher number of votes, what kind of operation will it be specifically? How will it be better than it is now?
I want to vote too, so I want to get it right.
I really trust you when you say something is overrated , after some time i find its true or when you say a new monster is broken or tash its alway true
It’s not totally decided, but something like…
If people want to move a monster 2+ tiers they can propose a vote (has to be 2+, unless it is between S and S+). They need to give a detailed reason why. If not detailed enough, they may need to answer questions.
A poll is made where everyone can vote which tier a monster should be in. Either something like vote for any of the 9 tiers or maybe a restricted set (e.g. the person wanted A → S so the options are: “B or below” A, S-, S, S+).
There will be some kind of explanation about the monster, e.g. what makes it strong and why the person wanted to move it.
When the vote is over, the result will overrule where I put the monster.
I think most of the community knows that KD has done a great job with the tier list, we all know that he tries to make it as fair as possible. Every day we see people on the forum asking for buffs from very strong monsters and saying this is very bad when it is not like that. Why change the incredible work done by KD? You can agree or not and have your own selection of which is better and which is lower , I really think this is a big fuss in vain . I would really like to see players freeing up the KD roster as before and creating a roster equal to or Better than KD’s with everyone’s opinions. I would love to see them take the challenge
i think it’s not about the list itself
he definitely done a great job on listing and categorize the monsters
i think it’s about him being stubborn
and ye he can be so stubborn
he is a bit softer now, but back when there is a few mods in here he can become a bit of dictator
tbh the tier list is just a rough guide to help newer players. older/more experienced players shouldn’t even have to read the list because they should already have have knowledge about what does and doesn’t work for them.
a lot of monsters are good “when paired with other monsters” so i think that the hardest part is to try and judge monsters on where they are by themselves.
Killerdog has done a great job so far. i think the problem is that there are too many tiers. if there was only about 4 it would probably be easier. you could just say theres one tier who are really good on thier own, one tier who are really good with proper teambuilding, one that is usable but not great and one that is bad unless it has specific setups. it would mean less shifting and would keep more people happy at once.
the tier list is a “rough” guide. i agree with 2/3 of the monster placements (taking SEs into account that people rarely mention). but i don’t feel like most of those i disagree with need changed as they are always “in relation to other monsters in that tier” and potentially you could have about 50 tiers and still have monsters in that tier who seem more powerful than others.
KD sort of shot himself in the foot by making so many tiers to begin with.
Haha it’s true it causes a lot of conflicting opinions, especially because many people don’t like seeing the mythics they own (which they find strong) average or below average.
I carried it over from what was there before my time. I like having 9 tiers because it means I can differentiate the monsters a lot better, which means it’s a much more useful resource. However, it’s definitely more challenging and opens it up to a lot of criticism.
4 tiers simply wouldn’t be enough to give good information besides “is this monster good/bad?”
Off course, I look at it too, but I don’t take it as a rule of law. For example, Hellfox isn’t at the very top of the tier list, but I find him/her an amazing monster. This example is based on personal experience, but there are more like this.
What I really mean is to look at the tier list more like a guide not law
I’ve effectively, for the most part, kept my distance from this conversation and the one on the tier list thread whilst it simmered and cooked, and I would like to objectively throw in my two cents.
This is not to discredit KD nor discredit opinions of anyone else, but objectively and in reality, the tier list does not matter.
All a tier list is is a compilation of opinions and assessments based on experience and observations. Literally anyone that has their own opinion of any number of monsters in this game already has their own mental tier list, even if they don’t view it that way. Favorites and strongest and weakest etc, it is all based on a matter of opinion, point blank and simple. There should be absolutely no argument over who does or doesn’t get to make a tier list. Someone (@Killerdog ) goes out of their way to do all the work and research to get their opinion represented along with as much of the communities opinion as they can and compile it into a list for people to view at their discretion, and that’s an important part, AT THEIR DISCRETION, really doesn’t warrant flak from anyone else. I could make a post and update it whenever a new monster comes out and call it a tier list, Luckdragons Tier List, the Devs Tier List, the Anti-Waifu Tier List, it really doesn’t matter as it’s all subject of opinion. If you want a different list, then make a different list. Otherwise if you arent willing to put in the work to do everything yourself, why complain about it?
I get it I get it, people are upset because something isnt on the tier list where they think it should be, whether it’s due to favoritism or they think @Killerdog is wrong about the placement, but why don’t you ask yourselves why it actually matters? Will a monsters spot on the tier list encourage or prevent you from using it? Absolutely not, y’all wanna say he’s stubborn but we as the player base are more stubborn and entitled than ever before (this is a blanket statement for all gaming platforms and communities, not specifically Neo Monsters).
Why do y’all care if a monster is misrepresented or not? Oh wait… We can delve deeper… It’s because you feel like if you use a low tier monster then you are a bad player? You only want to be known to use top tier things, or the opposite? That makes up your identity? If a team in a gotcha style phone game is what comprises your identity, then no amount of forum or tier list will help you - it’s time to seek therapy for an existential crisis.
Everyone wants their voice to be heard, to matter, and to count, and really I think that’s more what this is about than anything else. But since that’s the truth of it, make that the subject of it, not that you want things different because you think @Killerdog is wrong about something, but because, whether right or wrong, you want your voice and opinion to matter and be heard and be validated in something you are passionate about.
Also P.S, before anyone random wants to go and say I’m just defending @Killerdog because we get along, I am sure he and others will advocate that he and I actually have more disagreements on topics in the forum than on things we agree. The difference is that we usually talk through them and either come to common ground or agree to disagree, there is never any animosity between us.
Live life, be happy, and by God if making your own tier lists for self validation makes you feel better, then do it, but do it without having to berate others.
