OoO is one of the core mechanics in the game from the very beginning… just like stun, poison, sleep, etc. Originally its use was to pass time for survivor or megabomb but over time it’s morphed into other things, just like the other original mechanics.
It wasn’t that OoO was decided to be super lethal. There are plenty of strategies which are very lethal.
@Killerdog you can’t just say “make a team that counters OoO”. When they got Gyo, Angelion, Bunker beast and oni blade it is very hard to counter. Try all you will without key monsters you are pretty screwed.
OoO is broken and needs to be nerfed. Like already mentioned it’s the crazy sleep immune monsters that are now available that have broken it. When OoO was first designed these monsters didn’t exist. It’s become complete and utter BS at this point. Does not encourage skill or brains.
At the moment people with OoO are like:
“Let’s put all our OP sleep immune monsters in the FL a Rape the other team after pressing one button”
I don’t think OoO was originally designed this way.
That’s 3 monsters which can be stunned so remove Angelion and you’re good to go. Also, Angelion won’t be killing anything and the others are all quite slow at getting kills… basically they’re not going to win with that team by a long shot, there will be plenty or opportunity for you to turn around the match.
People are always moaning about something new each PvP season. This one is going to be about OoO I guess.
I know I’m against the majority here but OoO is fine. Every PvP season people freak out over something because it’s a powerful thing that’s popular that season… doesn’t mean it’s overpowered and needs changing.
This is the first Nerf thread I’ve agreed with. I hate nerfs.
I Disgreed when you complained about retribution FL’s.
I Disagreed when others complained about BB spam teams.
I disagreed when people complained about stun.
All the while I got wrecked by these teams myself and didn’t use such teams. OoO is a different beast. Press one button and game over.
I doubt @Dev_VKC or whoever invented OoO intended it to be 4 on one when they originally designed it.
The solution to PvP being broken is simple. I’ve mentioned it before. The devs need to seriously consider putting special PvP restrictions when it comes to team composition. One restricition is not being allowed to have more than 1sleep immune monster in the FL. They can pick between Gyo, Bunker and Lion Or whatever they like.
Angelion is only killable by BB and Cyclo - and even cyclo is a toss up. So you need some darn good luck for that to be your “1” that stays awake. Combo with Oni getting a second 1-1 and youre gonna get hosed.
One on one has been for the past 4 months just like the Nerida Abyss lines.
People dont enjoy playing a match where their first 8 are gone before they ever get to make a move.
I don’t remember ever complaining about that, just noting that it was strong (I was using it myself at the time, in season 2 of PvP after the release of Diamonoid). The only time I remember complaining about retribution was back when Zib + Hell + TT was super hard to deal with (before chrono killers and other fast front lines).
The only time I agreed with a PvP season complaints was with Nereida+Abyss. All the others I haven’t. If you want to compare who complained about what I’ll point out how I always said Kei’s team with link holy TT + Delugazar was fine. It’s taken months but now others, like yourself, think that too.
Anyway I don’t want to get into any discrediting of each other. I hope no changes are made to OoO because of threads like this. Killing OoO would be horrible.
The only suggestion I could back, as a lover of OoO since I started playing years ago: Change the passive “sleep immunity” on some monsters to “insomnia”. Insomnia = This monster is immune to sleep except when a teammate puts them to sleep.
This way, monsters can be designed to interact with OoO on a case-by-case basis.
On a side note, you don’t necessarily need oniblade or stratus to run this strategy. There are plenty of highish speed SE and Epic monsters with one on one
