Nice analysis as always, A.S. Antistan you’ve underrated for sure. Accelerating the others (which are mostly sweepers) will be brilliant, it’s got a fast give turn which will be accelerated and good defence. It can also be played outside of Abyssoldier combos as a super tanky monster with a fast give turn that can accelerate the team a bit quicker than most monsters and sweep with faststrike too. It won’t have the stun immunity then but as a 10 cost support/sweeper that’s brilliant. It’ll be tankier than Mechaviathan/Lavaronix!
The guardian one I think is basically to make the others work, so they can sweep a little easier. However, when you compare it to the shadow Flutterdrake it pales in comparison. A weaker protector and lack of stun protection in the cycle of Abyssoldiers makes these far worse than the Flutters. They have more sweeping power and I love their design but I think they won’t really see PvP outside the low brackets. What I think they really have going for them is their use by themselves in other teams, especially because the defence boosts make them more like legendaries.
E.g.
Abyssoldier Myst in link shadow stealth teams (one sneak attack then you’re good to go on bloodfury)
Abyssoldier Guardian for certain PvE content when facing lots of fire monsters (super tanky monster that can double sweep and reasonable speed)
Abyssoldier Antistan for any team without holy that wants a tanky support/sweeper.
Abyssoldier Breaker is much harder to fit in a team but retribution is definitely a one-shot so maybe retribution PvP teams or with skipping in PvE.
Abyssoldier Fokus for any poison team without shadow as a brilliant sweeper (130TU double poison eater and 80TU bloodcrave). It’s not super tanky but is reasonable for a super epic.
Abyssoldier Poward has minimal use by itself. This one is simply the weakest by far and probably not worth running.
When I add these into the tier list I will take into account both their use alone and in the group. However, unless my opinion changes I will value them more on their use alone or in particular pairs/trios as I think this is the best way to use them.
P.S. @Dev_VKC@Dev_BRD A really big thanks with the naming of these monsters. The thlugs are a nightmare to learn the movesets of even though they only have two unique moves and one unique passive each. These Abyssoldiers are so much better by their names indicating the unique passive which then, in your mind, you can easily link to the rest of the moveset or at least the important bits.
In a matter of speaking, yeah. The reason I dropped the letter grades is that more often then not, I miss the mark on them, be it over or underrating a monster. By getting rid of them, it allows me to be a bit more flexible with them without designating them to a letter, especially since Super Epics are judged harsher than a legend with the same grade.
Fair enough, but I do think it’s nice for people to see where you’d roughly put them. I’d like it if you gave a range like “I think this monster is something like B-A”. A three letter grade range gives people a good idea of where it stands. The rankings in this tier list are mostly done by me and I’m only one person giving my opinion so if people want a second opinion your rankings are great for that.
With the new update out, when can we expect an update for the list? Because if so, then I’d move Djinzar up a place or two since Unmovable fixed its biggest weakness.
Absolutely, it’s what I’ve been waiting for. I will do two updates… the first being the changes and short discussion about the update, the second being the addition of the new monsters plus some general movements I’ve been planning.
I can’t promise when but it will be the next thing I do with my free time now I’ve done the stuff on all my other guides.
Nah. Willo is good at what she does and she can easily be killed by most monster by now. Heavenswyrm is just a terrbile monster. Im just amazed how KD has so high up in the tierlist especially above infernicorn, cent, stag, etc… such a bad monster even more so after the protector nerf, not even just AP. Lol
However now the difference between her 2nd form and her awakened form did wide enough for me to consider her tier 2. She’s not “basically the same” anymore, so she’s not tier 1 anymore.
Im pretty sure daunt got nerfed as a skill. Not just her second form. She is pretty much the opposite of gazer in which case everyone knows gazer is an amazing monster.
Yeah I may consider dropping her to tier 2. She’s on the boundary of tier 1/2 for sure. The thing is, there isn’t a huge amount distinguishing their movesets and while assassinate doesn’t have piercing the attack stat of Vampviper is probably high enough for it to kill most protectors I think and it comes with lower TU. @Moking Can you confirm whether many protectors survive assassinate?
If I remember it correctly Alba won’t bring duscy to hg. Vampviper does.
I don’t use assassinate very often with vampviper… it’s job is done after daunt
