Perhaps Rosempress Sneak Attack comes from the Rose reigning beauty so you go to pick it and the thorn pricks you. Also the Sleep effects could be playing off the Poppy Fields scene from Wizard of Oz.

Canishogun is surrounded by mythics because I believe he was originally intended to be a mythic. Similarly, Focalforce was originally intended as a legendary and sat in the files for a long time before being upgraded to a mythic and released. It’s the first mythic in the monsterdex, way before the others.
You’re talking about a monster here which looks exactly like a plant. I’m sure it could sneak around in bushes and stuff.

I really like this thread so here is my lil trivia
-Nagandia comes from the Naga , who is a snake deity in hindouism( the move petrify comes from medusa a greek women who had snake hair and turned people into stone)
-Chromera is obviously from the chimera who is a greek mythologic creature that is a mix between a lion, a goat and with a snake tail.It makes sense that it has roaring entrance since it’s mostly a lion monster.
-Arachnadiva is probably inspired by Arachne who is a woman who got turned into a spider because she was too bragging to a goddess
-Little dragon and dangerous lizards trivia i included a image which will be faster than explaining all of it and you can see many mons respect these like cyberwyrm,cyberdrake or crisdrake( probably others i dont remeber):
-Burnsalot: Do i really have to explain his name also the fact that he’s a literally a oven
-Djinzar is a Djin, a spirit from Arabian mythology(he looks like the Jafar version of genie from aladin and the fact that he give 3 wishes)

i think we should revive this thread and here is some things I found:
-My new persephia is inspired by persephone a godess of hell and the return of nature this is why she got the passives soul bearer and the one that every dead ally becomes a rock
-Nauticruiser is a nautillus but i think it’s not so hard to hide
-Lionheart is maybe inspired by the king Richard Lionheart, the same king from robin hood
-Sepheris really looks like a harpy from greek mythology half women and half eagle but 100% sexy am I right @DMGInterference ???
-Floccu has feathers coz it has been found that some dinosaurs probably had feathers and we discovered thi only now because feathers are very samll and archeologist used to remove all stone just to see the bones and also some other complicated stuff
-brynhildyr is a valkyrie and deviladus is a succubus.Valkyrie are fighters of Odin in norse mythology and they are kinda angels because they got to chose who can go to heaven and Ragnarok is a kind of apocalypse.Deviladus is a succubus and they are demons that seduce men and they serve lilith the first women in the bible but she was thrown away by god for her bad behavior.Whisper of evil and damnation are well written skills for her.
-Zephyrim looks like clouds and thats because zephyr is the personification of wind in greek

Couldn’t describe Sepheris in a better way.
It is worth noting, though, that the move “Natural Selection” (which recalls a state of being analogous to Hobbes’ state of nature) implies Neo Monsters’ Lionheart does not live in a civilized society like Richard Lionheart’s. This is also given away by the fact his weapons are made of literal rock. Like come on, doesn’t your village have a damn blacksmith?

Some more trivia:
Tyrfina, the upcoming mythic, is based on the cursed sword Týrfingr (finger of Týr, Norse god of war). This is a reference to the fact she, as a mythic, will be a finger in the butt to awaken.
Novemdomina’s name comes from Latin (novem = nine, domina = mistress). She is a nine-tailed fox-woman, so it makes sense, but since the animal comes from Japanese mythology… That’s a bit strange language choice.
How come Robotic monsters can be put asleep or poisoned? Why can Phantom monsters get poisoned?
Death Sentence is a scary concept. Imagine being a 5 years old monster catcher whose friend just hatched a Deucalon. You have a friendly battle, Deucalon uses Twin Death Sentence and after some time two of your monsters immediately drop dead, much to your discomfort.
Speaking of Death Sentence monsters, imagine the shock of Othlon’s Arborgias owners when they woke up a day and found out their Arborgias couldn’t put asleep monsters anymore, and instead kill them straight away.
Mafioso monsters tend to like draining moves: The Godfeather has Last Bite, Penguinator has Desperate Bite, Polaboss has a Life Drain passive. That’s because mafia is a parasitic criminal organisation, like a leech to the State.
The only good mafioso is Don Rilla. Don’t be a parasite, enjoy a Banana Protein Shake and live a healthy life.
