Neo Monsters TTT (Trivia and Theory Thread)

This thread’s goal is to collect as many pieces of trivia as possible. Theories, random facts, curious things… It’s all ok! For starters:

With the release of Cypridrus, we have all the legendary beasts of Asian mythology.
We have:
• the Azure Dragon (Azuraidos)
• the White Tiger (Albakhan)
• the Crimson Bird (Crimseias)
• the “Black” Tortoise (Emeraldont)
• and finally, the Yellow Dragon (Cypridrus)

Atlantyrant and Triviathan both have Sleep Immunity. This may be caused by the fact they are deep-sea creatures, and the lack of sunlight makes it difficult to have a regular sleep routine (a theory which has been verified on cave fish)

Solariel is a seraphim, as testified by her pre-evolution names (Seraphire and Pyrrophim). The seraphims were the angels most close to God, and they were associated to fire, to symbolise the ardor of the true faithful (in Dante’s Divina Commedia they’re called “pious flames”). Despite that, Solariel is still mediocre at best.

There is no 4★ monster with an entrance skill. Don’t listen to @Exu, he’s lying.

Bastia, a “monster” which calling her “dressed” would be an euphemism, has more defence than Aethereon, literally a walking armor.

Beholders, amongst their limitless talents, can slow people down with their gaze. So Deathgazer’s Fast Forward entrance is not him accelerating all his teammates, just slowing you down enough to let his teammates catch up. And because of the fact he can slow down time (in Greek chronos), he is still weak to Chrono Killer.

It makes no sense that Magmarinus, a crazed beast, can discern if an enemy has made a kill or not. It’d make much more sense for him to have Retribution instead of Slayerbane (All).

In most mythologies, the white deer is a very elusive animal that grants incredible blessings to whoever catches him. This is why Sanctistag has Auto Protect (everybody wants to get him) and Camouflage (very elusive). Plus, if your opponent’s Stag dies, you’re blessed.

Triviathan didn’t have sleep immunity on release, it’s just coincidence

Yes, however the Devs realized that they were being unrealistic (who’d ever buy a game with a deep sea beast not being sleep immune?) and fixed it.

Thanks for the guide @Killerdog

Kuraokami is a legendary beast from Japanese mythology.

Y Ddraig Goch means The Red Dragon, and it’s the symbol on the national flag of Wales.

X-100S Small
XY-450M Medium
XYZ-999L Large

Atrahasis (“extremely wise”) is the protagonist of an 18th century BC- epic Acadian engraved in various versions on clay plates. The Atrahasis tablets include both a creation myth and a flood account, which is one of three survivors of Babylon’s flood stories.

Dusicyon is an extinct genus of South American canids. The type species is Dusicyon australis, the wolf of the Malvinas Islands. In 1914, Oldfield Thomas established this genre, which included the culprit and other South American foxes.

I knew about Kura Ōkami as the Japanese god of heavy precipitations as well as Y Ddraig Goch and Atrahasis, but I never knew about Dusicyon! That’s dope!

Yeah, the devs are really good in thinking about history (not game story lol)

It’s actually moved leaked from the next mythic, “Triple Team Turn”

It’s like Team Turn except each monster on your team gets 3 turns as opposed to 1.

This is incorrect. Dahargaz and Niloxov have Poison Gambit.

It’s true

Were you searching for meanings like me?

Some more T&T:

The Yuki-onna (woman of the snow) is a mythological figure in Japanese mythology. It’s a yokai (spectre), which can be found on snowy places. With her ice powers, she can freeze passersby to death or kidnap them. She doesn’t appear to have sleeping powers though: still, some tales tell she can kill people in their sleep by opening all doors in the house and letting the unsuspecting people freeze to death.

The fact that Confident Strike deals noticeably less damage when HP are below 100% shows the wielders of the moves suffer from insecurity.

Sunlord (MonsterDex #1120) is directly between two Moon monsters, Lunalord (#1117) and Lunartic (#1123), making him the most oppressed monster after Canishogun (#1614), who’s surrounded by Mythics

The fact that Sterockoids, which are Rockoid steroids, work on Rockoids implies Rockoids have a functioning circulatory system.

Sneak Attack makes sense on monsters like Zhulong (a dragon who manipulates shadows), Shurikaizer (a ninja) or Triviathan (a deep sea creature, which lives in the dark), but it makes no sense that Rosempress, with such a cumbersome dress, could actually be stealthy.

Tagosenshi probably works in a restaurants where they serve sliced humans.

Ashterios’ Swift Faststrike has been translated in Italian to Colpo Rapidissimo which means Very Fast Strike: compared to the original skill, Colpo Rapido, it makes it seem like a different skill while it actually has the same effect, but with reduced TU.
