So on the topic of giving mons abilities, what if we had a Legend/Mythic that was a Killer Sweeper support mon? My meaning is it having moves that can give a target opponent an additional passive that makes it weak to certain killer effects, the passive giving the opponent a boon but making the mon a target for your team.

Example:

Splicereon
Legendary
Attribute: Light
Stats: max def and hp. 30% speed

Overwatch Splice - TU 70s
The target gains the passive ability ā€œAuto Overwatchā€ in addition to its other passive abilities until it is removed from the field.

Poison Splice - TU 70s
The target gains the passive ability ā€œAuto Poisonā€ in addition to its other passive abilities until it is removed from the field

Protect Splice - TU 70s
The target gains the passive ability ā€œAuto Protectā€ in addition to its other passives until it is removed from the field

Bloodfury - TU 130s

SS - Splice Hunter - TU 50s
This ability immediately kills all monsters on the field who have a passive different from their original passive abilities.

Passives:
Stun Immune
Sleep Immune

Interesting. A very cool way to set up detox blast and encourage team building.

Unfortunately I don’t think it would have a place in the current meta of two kills per turn though.

You are probaQably right, but I figured better to start out small rather than overpowered and build it from there. I agree with the meta statement, but then again that new Koala legend just came out who is… well seems underwhelming at best, so I could see this set being a realistic thing that could come about. It also wouldn’t be too different from Arachnas ability to turn things into psuedo protectors.

Honestly I hope the devs take a step back and allow experimental strategies such as your monster’s to be viable.

I like the Koala for example, energy strategies could use the support. As long as Scorpiogeist & friends remain a thing though, I doubt anybody will use him with success.

Well being able to give hold ground would totally break pve. I don’t even have shiva but I could think of a few ways to abuse it.

I’m curious to get @Killerdog s opinion on the Splice mon

Firstly, with sleep immunity it would be OP. It can’t have that kind of combo potential with OoO.

However, other than that I can’t decide whether it’s pushing things too far or doing an interesting unique idea and that’s fun. Either way, 70TU setup seems a bit fast for both itself and killer monsters in your team… even with the monster having low speed.

So I reckon it’s a cool concept you’ve come up with but the design itself needs the power scaled back and perhaps it’s better to take other unique concepts rather than this one.

@Killerdog you said Scyberithe would’ve been op on release and you were clearly wrong so don’t even comment here.

Don’t we have enough Stun Converters? Besides it seems a little strong.

Maybe Stun Immunity on awaken, nothing otherwise?

I like the Gungnir reference.

The moveset looks incredibly similar to Infernicorn, just with retribution thrown in and the attack buff being for the party. Also, the second form has too much of the overall moveset. With battlecry being higher TU and/or a lower attack buff it could work, but probably better to simply make it a boost only to itself in the second form (attack boost+).

I like battle cry as a concept and putting it on a slow monster with HG seems like a good idea. The rest of the moveset is nothing unique but fits with battle cry very well. I agree with Zazzaro that the final form having stun converter feels too much. It’s slow but has HG and as soon as it gets a turn it has a 70TU kill two enemies which it can follow up with double piercing sweeping or an attack boost to the whole team and sweeping from there. That kind of aggression with stun converter is a bit nuts. I know we’ve got Infernicorn but this monster is a lot better and has the team support too.

I reckon it would be great with the changes:

  • Second form gets battlecry changed to attack boost+
  • Stun immunity in final form
  • No stun immunity in second form, just HG

Makes sense; I see that it has a bit too much to offer now that I’ve had a second look at it.

Given my…appreciation for revival-based monsters, I figured I’d make one of my own. Any thoughts?

Name: Necroshark (A bipedal shark wearing a black hooded cloak)
Element: Shadow
Stars: 5
Cost: 10
Atk/Def: Full Defense
Speed: 35%

Moves: Ultrablight
LINK Dual Revival (1 use) (This skill revives the last two monsters in your team that died and adds them next in line into your reinforcements at 100%HP)
Revival Ritual
Step Back

Passives:

Revival Entrance (When this monster enters the field, it revives the last monster that died and adds it next in line into your reinforcements at 50%HP

For a SE that offers a lot. With that kind of entrance passive you’d expect the moveset to be terrible. Instead, it can step back to get that a second time and can revive up to 7 other monsters with active skills as well as having full defence stats.

Taking Sanctaurus as the baseline, I reckon you could either go with the entrance + step back + low speed and change the revival moves into other stuff (team support?), perhaps also making it rounded stats.

Another option is to remove the entrance passive and step back then keep the revival skills. This would be a lot like Sanctaurus so maybe make it full attack, make step back be replaced by timestrike and give it rapid entrance. This way it’s a shadow version of Sanctaurus with no defence, but faster and more powerful link revival move.

I like that idea; replacing Revival Ritual with say, Purifying Mist would tone it’s power down all while keeping the main idea behind the monster.

I like the idea but that’s a legendary, not a SE.

It even has Step Back ffs!

Make step back SOLO as well. then it can’t be abused in link AND with its entrance

Yeah that makes it sound a lot more like a SE, good idea.
