Wait until the “protagonists” jump in here and say centaureon exists , sleep immunity exists , bla bla bla …
A monster who doesn’t need strategy to turn a losing game in his favor
It would be better to increase the seconds needed for Lemon to sleep to 300 … Or to have no reinforcements …
Welcome to TNC Clan Bro…
Your sec restriction is fine which should have a 50% input from sleeping each of the monsters on the field. Since a whole strategy of poison or immunity is needed just for it.
Perhaps we should all be running Nectareon ourselves in the end-game, or Centaureon, or Bovolcus, or a few other heavy counters that are perfectly viable to run in PvP.
Most strategy games like this one require heavy use of counters in order to keep something strong in check in the meta. If we’re refusing to use the counters then that’s our own fault. I’m not running a particular counter but I’ve often had something that’s help mean I still win the game, be it Angelion, Raizen or something else. I think I’ve only lost to Lemon once so far in the 8-10 games where I met it.
There’s A LOT of stuff added to counter sleep…
- Terrordragon got sleep immunity (it has poison gas).
- Abyssraider got sleep immunity (it has poison gas).
- Cyclozar got insomnia (it has sleep killer).
- Bazilogon got insomnia.
- Terragar got insomnia (it can now purify + heal teammates).
- Metatherion got nightwatch (it has insomnia).
- Vulcaroth has a 50% chance to poison each monster on entrance (wakes up sleeping teammates).
- Chimeraxus deals tiny damage to all monsters on entrance (wakes up all sleeping teammates).
- Celestrion got ascension all (wakes up sleeping teammates).
- Cybereon got poison all revenge (wakes up sleeping teammates).
- Poison burst got a damage increase, buffing poison gas in general and a number of monsters which are counters to sleep.
Basically, there’s now plenty of stuff in the game which can counter Lemon or other sleep effects. We’re in a good position for powerful sleep effects to be part of the meta and build our teams to protect against them.
Go with the flow of the game developing rather than refusing to change. We all make stun proof front lines without ever questioning it. Why not make sleep/poison proof end-games or FLs that can deal with OoO?
DISCLAIMER: This post was made by ironically copy pasting three posts killerdog made in the past. I don’t actually agree with any of this. Nerf lemon!
If all that exists but if you see the monsters you mention most of them are not first-rate monsters and almost useless with the current meta. And then there is the issue of it falling at the right time to counter it.
Wouldn’t it be extremely boring to be forced to build Stun proof FLs and ALSO Sleep proof endgames though? Reducing teambuilding variety is never a good thing and being forced to have full Sleep counter endgames would definitely limit the space for creativity a lot.
Luckily, Lemon isn’t THAT widespread (only met her once this PvP, against Nagao, and all my monsters were poisoned and his weren’t) so it’s not a looming threat as much as other monsters like Cynthia or mafia cetacean.
Plus nobody uses Bazilogon or Metatherion
Yeah it should be nerfed. Name aside, it’s not cool
Ye honestly, I’d be down. The primary thing that’s always kept sleep in check is how hard it is to inflict it in the first place; Lemon just throws all pretense out the window and takes it to a ludicrous extreme. She’s far from the most dire threat the game has to offer, but being overpowered isn’t the only problem with her design. She is easily, easily among the least fun monsters to fight against; I don’t need any data to gauge that sentiment among the majority of the community. What makes her unfun to fight? The way she completely takes away your control.
The reason this game can be fun even while you’re losing is because of the strategy, the mind games, the decision making, the engagement. Believe it or not, video games are fun to play when you’re allowed to, as Alpharad is fond of saying, play the video game. But then along comes Lemon deciding she can’t have any of that. Barring poison or a stray insomniac, you get to just sit there and watch as your opponent gets 5-10 turns for free, of no fault of your own. How riveting!
Sure, low TU sweepers can also take control away from you simply by killing your mons one by one before they can react, but that’s different. The opponent has set them up well enough to break down all of your defenses and keep up their momentum, and that’s simply on you for being insufficiently prepared to deal with it. The way Lemon does it is downright counterintuitive to the spirit of the game. It’s braindead, it’s frustrating, and it’s just poor design.
There’s counters of course; like I said, she’s certainly fallible. And things going as planned with her doesn’t guarantee overall victory. But her impact is still far too large and consistent for my tastes. Besides, running a counter to something doesn’t guarantee it will actually get a chance to counter that thing; there’s 15 other monsters, it’s not super hard to just kill that one pesky insomniac or poisoner that’s about to try and thwart her. The more you run the better chance you have, of course, but packing your team full of one specialized thing should never be a requirement for being able to reliably combat a single frickin monster.
Here’s my solution: turn her passive into an active, so it’ll basically be like Saintfeather’s SS, just with a start of battle TU restriction rather than a first turn TU restriction. That gives the opponent a fair chance of shutting the deal down before it can happen, and also gives the user the power to decide when they want it to happen, in case the enemy’s poisoned or you want another mon of yours to get a move off first. More control all around! It’ll make the whole effect much harder to pull off, but again, the ability to trigger it strictly on your terms makes it potentially so much more powerful.
I agree but man you gotta write less
I proposed something akin to your active skill suggestion some months ago: dis
Yeah @LemonSqueezy needs a nerf â– â– â– â– that guy
I’ll take that as a compliment
Give Lemon OoO entrance and remove potent sleep.
Imo potent sleep is a move that should not exist in the game in first place, on Lemon is totally unbalanced because at least Goldtail is full attack so can be easily removed, Lemon is super tanky, no need for a 42 TU OP move.
What makes it harder is that it also has potent sleep… even if you survive the initial passive it will still lock you down
I will answer : NO
Btw I dont have her
If anyone couldn’t tell, I copy pasted three posts killerdog made in the past in lemon nerf threads lol.
