Hunter Island Fix and New Game:

Have I mentioned I’m stoked?

Im excited about the next game. I really hope it has a huge story to carry on with. As much as HI has its flaws that need addressed fast. Its still a great game.

I always loved monster rancher when I was young, I beat all of em in 2 monsters before they died.
And if it IS like that, I’m gunna be sad as always when they die QQ wonder how pvp would work if monsters have lifetimes

Lifetimes? Of course you can pay real money to extend infinitely

Just joking, our system will be a little different from the life time system they used. although that was really good in monster rancher, it becomes a little too much when you can have multiple monster in your party.

And we are focused on the story aspect as well. So far its looking really good!

do we have a projected release date/ re-optimized for 64 bit?

WAIT DID I READ THIS CORRECTLY

How could i have missed this

YES

GUYS YES

YESSSS

Yeah its pokemon style capturing with monster rancher style training

No release date yet, we are still in the early stages of development. We get to animate our monsters and stuff like that this time though

Is this micromon your talking about?

No, the next game they’re making.

I read that only one person is actually working on micromon. 2 on the new game and 1 on hi

The Micromon one is [more or less] accurate as far as programming is concerned, anyway.

As far as the new game vs. Hunter Island, they’re going to have a team of 6. So you’re missing 3 people in there.

Micromon is a completely separate group. ZigZaGames is merely helping them publish it

I beg to differ. I think that clash of clans is very successful, even though they just based it off galaxy life. I think there something about the game which makes it fun to continue with. Hey, it’s probably just me, but I make so many friends off CoC, I feel an attachment to them. But if the game just stopped, I’d stop with it. I personally like games that get added new features. For example I’d love an event which they have in Battle Beach where your whole clan teams up to attack an island.

Honestly games should last a little longer in my opinion. Especially paid apps.

I second that, with the Coc stuff.

Personally i have no… real temptation to buy their next game. As someone said, I kind of feel they just replaced artwork from DIB to Hunter Isalnd…lets face it. Almost al of their mechanics are the same. I feel like the onky things they added were like new artwork, storyline, and some online features. Yeah, Pokemon is almost the same but that’s kind of why I quit. And Pokemon at least has trade whihc I find very appealing.

If they’re going to transfer progress to the new game (which they said they have plans for, [but no guarantees]), I think it will be worth it in that case.

And as I stated, CoC is an exception to the rule, as are most “freemium” or pay to play games. I agree that there should be a good length but I think 5 years is extreme for most games, excluding exceptions to the rules like CoC because that’s the only way they function.

Honestly, I still don’t see the appeal for trading for this game.

It just becomes useless in the long run when you can easily get all the creatures in game. At least Pokemon releases multiple versions that have different Pokemon to make trading worth it

Trading will basically require us to take the game fully server side. If all save files are on our server and can be managed by us, we would feel safe to do trading. It would also stop a lot of the cheating we are seeing now. Being a paid game, requiring internet access while playing is not something we want to do though.

Also the next game will be very different. We should be able to give more details as we go, but it will not be a re-skin of Hunter Island

One big difference… all monsters actually move now

Is the next game cosmic island?

Yes I believe so? Maybe not but that’s whati heard.

Ryan when HI was released why did it not come with the basic secuirty to protect it against IAP hacks? I kean that just kills it right there. Without going into detail shouldnt that have been a high priority.

I agree! This point seems even to little to be mentioned by those people I saw who were talking about hacking…
