Why only legendary in the limitations. Just a mythical?

We both ended up going too deep on that. I too hope that in the future we don’t see stun protection restricted as much until stun on the whole is more balanced. That said, fundamentally I enjoy the meta being messed with even if it means for short periods certain archetypes become too dominant

I disagree. But we will find out during/after the seasons.

However, I do think that if they’re going to put both legendary stun counters on the list, the Mythic ones should be in there too.

I’m super glad they didn’t! That would just be asking everyone to run stun lol. Seeing the ones on there right now is already making people panic, even if Raizen, Padrinorca and Novadrake are all gone too.

The current selection has been super divisive in the community. I guess that’s what you get when you pick the “most used/popular” monsters. I hope next time it’s a good selection and it goes down better.

Sorry again to everyone who I came across too rude towards. I didn’t mean to suppress anyone’s opinions either. I just got a bit too caught up in this like other people did too.

You could still have three stun counters in your team which on top of all the remaining stun absorbers/converters/immunes is more than enough.

Even with these rules I wouldn’t dare to put my money on stun dominating this PvP.

It might not dominate you’re right, because everyone will be forced into the choice of selecting them.

“Could” should be underlined here …

I’d have expected you to be worried about this situation many players are in now, since you’re always concerned about game balance

Looking at all of those points, wouldn’t it have been much better to say:
1-this is a new rule in order to increase diversity.
2-These limited monsters are the most used monsters in the past few months (that’s why they’ve been chosen as limited)
3-This kind of rule is planned to last for two seasons but since this is the first time it is implemented, well take the first 3 weeks to test it and see the impact it produces in PvP.
4- According to point 3, we’ll make changes after the first 3 weeks if needed.
?

Notice that point 4 says they’ll care about game balance.

If they had say that then there would be almost none negative feedback, mainly because of the point 4.
But saying “this is the limited list and it will remain the same for 2 seasons” just the first time you implement this important rule it’s like asking for tons of negative feedback, like we’ve seen so far, from the many affected players that do care about game balance.

You said it yourself @Killerdog , this new rule might have a negative impact on game balance now, but it will be great in the long term. But precisely because of the possibility of having a negative impact now, they should have said something similar to those 4 points I talked about when they released it

I’m not sure what more you want them to say.

Whether it’s two seasons or one season, it’s not an enormous length of time. Also, if the plan was “we might suddenly remove this just before ranked PvP” that could end up irritating people even more! Having things guaranteed one way is far safer.

If there truly is a horrible game balance problem as a result of these monsters being restricted then at its worst we have two seasons where PvP is less fun. That’s a small price to pay for more fun in the future.

I imagine the list will change after the first season?

I took it as changing every 2 months. What I fear slightly is they’ll keep a few of the same monsters on the restriction list for the following two months and some people will make a big fuss about it

Two PvP seasons mean two ranked pvp affect, which has never happened before. Do you remember when they first tried the 173 cost team? They tried to implement a rule in ranked pvp. They tested it only one season, saw the impact it made and then acted in consequence.

Remember most of players play this game mainly because of PvP battles and every month they will try to achieve a higher rank in ranked pvp. Having this excitement affected for two months can’t be any good.
Of course, we are all forgetting an important point in all this argument. The many affected are f2p, which come and go all the time; there will always be more and they don’t contribute much for the development of the game. P2w on the other hand, were not affect at all so they can perfectly wait for those two months.

That last sentence I deleted was too deep XD

I’d literally just got to reading the last bit then it disappeared before I got the chance XD

U can still see it hahah

Nope, only edits outside of the first 5 minutes go into edit history so I can’t check what was written there before.

As for the rest of it… I don’t remember the 173 cost time you’re referring to (been playing here for so many years it’s happened a bunch of times). Whenever they’ve done special rules they have purposefully done them as just one season to spice things up before going back to normal. This new system is here to stay as a more permanent solution to keeping the meta from going stale in ranked PvP without making special rules.

I really don’t think this is true: “most of players play this game mainly because of PvP battles”.

As for free players coming and going from the game so they somehow get affected more by limitations… you lost me but don’t try to explain because I guarantee we will have different opinions on the subject.

P.S. I don’t really want to write much more in this thread. I’d rather let others discuss whatever they want to discuss about the new PvP system and I’ll just step in as a moderator if anyone gets nasty.

Ok then.
About that 173 limit cost ranked pvp. It was many seasons ago. I remember it well cause it could have been my first top 10 but I screwed it the last day. If you look at the records, it was the time that TNC xMagicx got #7 I think.
We had that 173 limit cost rule in Armageddon tournament after that. I’m sure it most say “special season” or something like it on the records.

What’s the point? When I worried about the game balance nobody believed me anyway

Anyway in this case I am not worried, game is actually going in the right direction for me.

As I always told, we need to encourage evolution, and so far devs are doing that very well.

Main project are mythics, so make them more available to players, F2P included.

Those that are being limited are non other than legendaries which can compete to mythics, so now devs want to see how much people can compete without those doped legendaries.

I am pretty sure that some of F2P top players relies entirely on those monsters.
The future is that players should and would rely on mythics.

So I am not worried because what is happening is something good despite what F2P thinks.
