Why ALL "H.ACKERS" are Beta Testers...

Last I checked, people said:

If you see unreleased monsters, they are EITHER 1) a beta tester or 2) a hacker.

They did not say they’re a hacker.

Perhaps read without bias?

Those monsters are brand new and completely unavailable at this point. They are under development. Ironheart, Guardiron, etc. are in the game just not released to the general public yet. That’s why betas have them. A beta tester that is not following the rule about not using them in PvP is doing just that. He is not following the rule. He however did not hack, he is breaking the rules and is cheating. However, he did not hack by definition to get said monsters.

Not all hackers are betas though. That statement you made is just off. If you used that IAPP hacker to gain gold then you are a HACKER and they will be able to tell and you will get banned. (Not saying you did this) Hacking is illegal, no matter how you look at it.

OOOOOH KILL EM lol

A H.acker by any other name sounds just as sweet…

Again…we didn’t exploit any game files, we didn’t use any work around to get free gold or monsters.  The fact you’re calling us “H.ackers” is simply inaccurate.

Im not calling YOU a h.acker, i am calling BETA TESTERS that are using unreleased arks in PVP in public matches HACKERS… You are taking things WAY to personally, makes me wonder if you are one of them  :P

Beta testers are beta testers. Hackers are hackers. Beta testers generally know not to use their arkadion in public. The one that seems to be doing it frequently will be taken care of after the update. If you run into someone with normal monsters and a Kamiwyrm, it’s most likely a hacker. Tajid and I are some of the only ones who are far up on the leaderboards of PvP…we’re among the most active…and we still are ages away from Kamiwyrm. It’s not possible to legitimately have it at the moment.

Regardless, beta testers that go in public with unreleased arks are breaking the rules. However, that is not hacking. Do I need to explain? No. The only thing one needs to do is read the definition of a hacker. Besides, the last thing I want is for one issue to alter people’s opinions of the entire group. People seem to forget that many of the beta testers are indeed moderators, and they are the ones enforcing the rules. They know better not to go against what they preach. They’re not arrogant jerks who believe they are superior in every way possible. They are players just like us that worked towards testing this game to make it better for all of us. They are players that love the game itself. They are players that strive to assist us in any way possible. They are players that deserve respect, just like everyone else here.

There is no need to antagonize anyone. Everything will likely be taken care of soon. And even if it isn’t, then it’s our job to understand that nothing is perfect. They’re trying.

  Oh no you caught me (100% sarcasm)  Nah, I now sort of get what you’re saying in that regard.  I still don’t find it accurate.

So that means, by your logic, that hacking = playing a PvP match. That also makes YOU a hacker, if you PvPed at all. And that makes all PvPers hackers, too.

Because you said that HAVING unreleased monsters is not hacking, but if you go in the PvP match after having them, that’s hacking.

So the only thing that changed to go from non-hacker to hacker is going in the PvP fight.

In other words, PvPing is hacking.

Right? Hm…

PS: The beta tester that is breaking the rule is NOT a moderator.

But that is just… inaccurate. They may be cheating, they may be breaking the rules but they aren’t hacking. They will be dealt with regardless but it is two different things.

Honestly, I’m on the betas side for this. Those betas breaking the rules are going to be banned (i think) and generalizing all of them being hackers because one beta is not following the rules is ludicrous. There is a difference between hacking and using unreleased arks in public matches.

I think this was simply a very poor way to frame the situation. So let’s make this clear:

  1. Beta testers are not hackers.

  2. Hackers are not beta testers (so we hope!)

  3. Using unreleased monsters in PvP is not hacking, provided the person was legitimately given those monsters.

  4. Having unreleased monsters at all is not hacking, provided the person was legitimately given those monsters.

  5. IAP cracking is hacking. Save file transfer is hacking.

  6. Beta testers, as far as we know, don’t do the things listed in #5

  7. Doing the things listed in #5 doesn’t lead to having unreleased monsters.

  8. Beta testers are not allowed to use unreleased monsters in PvP, so if they do, they’re breaking the rules (but not hacking).

  9. Only one beta tester (non-moderator) is, and will be banned. And he isn’t hacking (as if he could if he tried… I know him).

And that’s the end. No further discussion needed here.
