Iâm almost certain the popularity is because itâs a tanky stun counter monster. So people play it out of necessity, rather than because theyâre very impressed by it.
Really? Iâm pretty sure they do. Itâs just the things like payback revenge which obviously do nothing.
Hereâs my link shadow sleep/control team and you can see that it would be a place youâd absolutely expect to see Onyxia but instead I opt for Momo. I find that really sad and an indicator of Onyxiaâs overall problem, which is what people are getting at when they complain about the SS TUâŠ
Onyxia has no reliable way to interact with the enemy team. You either need an enemy on low HP for Onyxia to finish off and then it can bloodfury afterwards or youâre forced to fatal sting and wait ages for anything to happen. The only immediate impact it has is the SS, which has now become very slow so if youâre unable to fatal sting first or line it up for a kill afterwards then you can have Onyxia sit on the battlefield for over 300s before itâs done anything more than knockback a single enemy.
So the reason why Iâm not using him in my above team is heâs too sluggish and clunky to play in the front line. If I donât get to OoO, heâll probably be bad. If I do get to, itâs still a coin toss whether heâll be useful. Momo is brilliant if I donât OoO and if I do OoO then chances are I donât need her.
Where I do choose to use Onyxia is if Iâm creating Bronzeshells/Rockoids in the enemy team because theyâre easy kills for fatal sting. It can also fit into mid/end-game OoO, bug union, death sentence synergy or if youâre going hard on link shadow. Otherwise, I think itâs mostly a bench warmer for people once they have a big collection.
I reckon we get a lot of buff requests for Onyxia because it is used by a lot of people but is hit and miss in battles. People feel like it needs something more. Some of the ideas are pretty crazy (e.g. its speed is too high for elem give turn) but I think having 70TU swift knockback random would be a good middle ground that helps exactly what it now struggles with and not taking it too far where it has too much impact on the first turn.
That said, I do generally agree that the monster is fairly balanced. Itâs just lacking a little. The instant KBR was the best part of the moveset all along and after the rest of it got buffed it makes sense to nerf the move but itâs still quite integral to how Onyxiaâs design plays, I agree with what people say that itâs a shame that option is mostly gone.
They caved and brought back high speed knockback on Sui, and now people are asking for even more high speed knockbackers to be brought back. With how easy it is to get Remover monsters now, we are slowly heading back into the high speed frontline with knockbacks into stun + daunt (and other no-stun variations of it).
In a meta where mythics revive more than 3 times and all attacks are ignored, would it seem crazy to you that his SS was 1 second? Or well, forget that it was 1 second, 42 seconds would be fine and he would still be one of the worst mythics. You say that he is very popular but nobody in the top 10 uses him because of how bad he is and if the rest use him it is because they have no other option. Come on, it doesnât cost them anything, everyone wants a small improvement for him.
It is that it cannot be used if you want to have a good position in rank because it is very bad and needs 200 seconds to be able to do something when each mythic that is used has to be the best or very good in its function or mythics that just by playing can ensure you victoryđȘ
I donât own Sivanna but itâs time to get justice for her. Give her back her Backbite. Sivanna is really bad now. Just wait for her to use void caniblaze then gently Knock back and your opponent will have another burden waiting for them. Dev, youâre forgetting Sivanna, right? Next is Vixenblade, maybe you should change her solo skills a bit, the meta has changed too much now. Reduce some of her limitations to make her easier to use.
She is only seen on unicera combo wich is great but other then that she almost non existent
A buff could be:
Steal moves doesnt awaken sleeping monsters
Steal kill becomes 42tu
Multiface strike- with stealth become focus
Multiface strike- with shield become piercing
Multiface strike- with both becomes void
Gains a 50 or 100 defense buff when used with same element / union or when a CAT monster is on field she is a mouse at the end could be a fun theme
Nerf to compensate
This monster can be shielded/stealth by friends but loses the hability to use multiface strike with critical damage, it does now the same damage as bloodthirst without a kill. When she steals shiel/stealth or kill she can now use multiface strike with critical damage ( this solves the Flash combo unicera-nikki )
I have nikki and i love how cute she looks not like other crap devs release
Nobody talks about this but I think it should be reviewed, Focalforce should lose RAW on his break attack since due to the use of his secret ability he loses access to this move.
Although this makes it stronger in synergy with monsters like Mortylis, you could choose to slightly increase its speed, making this combo not very feasible.
