So recently I faced a bovolcus that had just clicked deathmatch mode, and then a teammate used a hit all to take out line of monsters. One of them was my vampviper with poison revenge.
Furthermore, I had a stunning entrance mon next in line (not champion entrance) and the stun went first and then the poison from vampviper.
I was just wondering how the revenge/entrances order is determined.
Is it based on the speed of the revenge versus the entrance monster?
Or is it based on the speed of the monsters currently on the field that determines the order in which they die?
I’m not trying to complain about it, I was just wondering if there was a method to the entrance/passive revenge madness.
The ordering of these is very confusing and annoying. However, in your case it was simply that the damage from poison happens as the monster turn changes. I.e. Your team died, the new monsters entered (including the stunning entrance) then the turn order moved forwards and the enemies died to poison.
I have 2 theories wrt this situation .
Situation : Who is considered to have died first with same hp left when killed by multi target moves ?
Theory 1 : Monster with lowest defense stat .
Theory 2 (most probable ) : Monster at low TU.
System marks all 4 targets to have died ( 0 hp left ) . Then tries to reduce the TU of all monsters accordingly. Notices the next enemy is dead , removes it and enters the next monster in its place . Notices the next TU monster has died and removes it and so on.
Edit : Anyone who loves experimentation and have the patience to test these out ?
I realised this the season I ran my semi DR team. Larva entrance would wipe out shields on entrance and then the revenge would trigger from anything with DR that died. Very handy to catch out players
From my experience, entrance’s effects get activated before revenge ones. I know it’s confusing but that’s the way it always happens. The most famous case is the one of floccosaurus coming after Tricanium or Timberlord when you attack them with a monster that has a shield on: floccosaurus entrance activates fist and removes your shield, then Tricanium/Timberlord’s death retribution gets activated and kills your monster. The opposite case also happens, if you kill one of this monster with a HG monster, floccosaurus entrance won’t kill your monster, since it’s activated before the death retribution
I think what gets this all confusing is: entrances effects get activated before the monster comes to the field (for instance, you’ll never see hellfox being damaged by his own magma entrance or lemon put to sleep by her own entrance effect) and death effects get activated after the monster dies. Since both events can not happen at the same time, one must come before the other one. Simply entrances happen first
This is done randomly. I think I’ve had official confirmation on that. The Devs agree it would be good to have some logical consistency with it so we can strategically play around it.
As others have said, entrances seem to trigger before revenges. I’m not sure if that’s true for everything but it probably is.
In my experience in PVP I have managed to notice that the tickets are first and then the revenges, it happened to me that in a confrontation the opponent previously killed me with tricranium A shield had been applied, to avoid revenge, and he had floco entering, so the floco entrance was applied first and then death revenge
