Man, it’s definitely hard, isn’t it? Not even gonna mention as soon as someone sees angelion and a monster that can kill its own, that person won’t hold back and try to kill which means you will straight away get your retribution loaded while you didn’t have to get rid of any of your monsters and you probably also playing these with him also:

The obvious solution is trying him into link where he be still strong as he is but only in a link team.
I think monsters like angelion should only be viable in link strategies where they are strong in link and useless outside of it.

Then for the “angelion can’t counter sleep or poison” are we gonna act like when versing a poison team (4) against a only angelion? Or 4 poison monsters vs angelion which can be one of the strongest protecters which skeleteviathan (who has purify) and also gravity field which protects your angelion from getting nocked back or what people usually play regalion with angelion with protecters. All of these will give you a huge advantage while your opponent still trying to do their combo.
Sleep is there so you can sleep lock so while angelion is on the field, a 84 TU without acceleration is pretty good amount to stop your opponent from sleeping you.
Angelion’s problem is not that he is hard to kill which is what everyone here wants him to get nerfed for but he feels like 3 different monsters all at once so while you are facing an angelion, you are not 4 vs 4 but 4 vs 6-7 monsters. That’s it really feels like and if you think about it yourself, you will realise that also.
That sounds actually fair.
That’s what I have been thinking about for a while. Why not make really strong monsters (but not broken) in link strategies instead of it being generic so people can stop playing generic monsters to get a good team like you mentioned about stag, BB, malwig (or malwing whateva), magmarinus, etc…
Here’s the thing though, are you complaining that he’s too strong or that he’s too strong in certain combos? Because there’s tons of things right now that are broken in certain combos. But not everyone has all the monsters they need to make those combos nor will you face the perfectly constructed team every time you enter pvp. Angelion is not dominating the pvp world right now. That award goes to a few others.

Reduce his defense. That’s enough. We need a strong counter to the cursed Malwing. I say this even though I might never own Lion. I like his broken moves.

Just lowering defence is fine. Link will destroy him completely now that Midas died

Yeah good idea. Also swap out it’s sleep immune passive with “Tholid” keep stun counter.

Haha I’ve now recovered from the nerf! The emotional trauma took far longer to recover than the teambuilding. Tbf my FL still works since the TT nerf, because I only ever really needed a GT (except vs OoO). I will run a non link variant of it for ranked PvP. Lion is part of it though

Make regalion turn stun counter into stun absorber while on field.
Or just not get a turn? Angelion pretty much gives itself and everyone in his team immune to stun.
