dw guys shiny arborgias is cming soon

Well i will just use this thread to ask buff for throw / earth category mons .
A vast majority of earth (legends /se) consist of throw archetype , the damage they do feels irrelevant in the current state of game(def boost ,hp boost etc) .
A little bit of damage buff throughout the board will make another archetype viable again .

Replying to the original post…

Shadow has WAY more monsters than the other elements and strangely enough it was the worst link element until the last 1-2 years when it finally got enough good PvP monsters. Before then it lacked support/control and stun protection.

Also strangely, holy was arguably the best PvP element for a lot of the early years. You’re correct to notice that what it now lacks is link monsters (i.e. strong payoffs for using holy) and it hasn’t got enough easily aggressive monsters.

The standout monsters in recent years have either been build-around monsters that don’t want link holy (Shikabloom, Coretta, Vulpink) or they’re generically good support monsters (Momo, Aethereon, Gabrielle). These basically push you away from running link holy. Momo and Brynhildr even have solo moves.

If you’ve followed my annual review series at all you’ll know I’ve moaned about this with Holy. We’re still getting some good monsters, but only a handful and there’s almost no reason to form a link team any more. It seems like when the Devs have a cool idea for a monster that adds something useful to a team they make it holy. E.g. Prismegasus could be any element but it’s holy.

So all that to say…
Holy has some really strong monsters. It’s not ignored and it simply has certain aspects it does well, while others not so much (strong support, low speed and less aggression). Link holy has not had enough development in recent years that it has got weak. Hopefully they change this over the next year! Shadow has finally got good in PvP, after many years of only being a PvE element. It’s nice it gets a chance!

Do we have enough Holy Sneak attack?? I’m not sure …

:neutral_face::frowning::no_mouth:

I loved this comment. Thank you.
But you forgot to comment about another thing I mentioned.
Why did they create 4 HOLY Element Mythics with the same ability: Purifying Mist?
I haven’t seen any other elemental mythicals with the same or similar ability. Instead, the 4 mythical images have the same power. Didn’t the developers come up with something better?

Shikabloom. I think that’s the only one. Generally they’re not very sneaky it seems. They also don’t do poison

Purifying mist is a really good move to have as an option. They recently made pure cure lower TU as well (Goliatherion, a new holy mythic, has that too). So I don’t think it’s right to call it lazy design, it’s an important move to have on enough monsters so it’s in balance with poison/sleep. Purify has always been a core part of the game, but there was actually a period of time when we didn’t see enough monsters with it and the poison archetype became stronger than it should be (there were multiple factors, but this was one). Purifying mist is usually better because it has a lot more uses. I see it the same as blood moves. Lots of times we see “bloodthirst” on a monster and you could call it lazy but it’s a core part of the game and is fun to play with. What makes those monsters interesting is the other moves which go along with the blood/purify move.

Of the four monsters you mention, Tyrfina and Gabrielle are both great monsters for purifying mist because they get a turn very quickly. That’s useful in the mid-game for letting you fight back against any sleep or poison which is beating your team. Bridalith has a strong entrance so the rest of the moveset is quite weak, it makes her a bit less exciting. Mechangelion has purifying mist as a mimic of Angelion’s purify all so I think that one is a special case.

Dont worry the dev will introduce Purifying Shield after this post…

as one of the few top (might be a stretch but meh) players who still tries to innovate with holy i can honestly say that you are incorrect.

people are afraid to use holy because it has a reputation of being tricky to use but in fact it can be incredibly powerful.

heres a few (lol - it was when i started) examples. -

  1. Chronotitan - potentially 8 superbuffed monsters ded. very high damage output for a legendary and also good at surviving. its kind of a holy version of wraithhost when you think about it.

  2. Excaliburdragon - you will struggle to find veterans who aren’t aware of how powerful he can be if ignored.

  3. Momo - contender for best Mythic in the game. Great versatility and survivability.

  4. Moku - just check the most used Endgame list for PvP. he is always there.

  5. Valzareign - i don’t even remember the last time i saw one of these in top tier PvP. which is surprising considering it actually has quite a lot to offer. it can demolish stun teams. its attack is a little low because its an older monster however confident strike still kills most.

  6. FD Maeve - bruh…everyone knows how impactful she is with FDs.

  7. Shikabloom - extremely dangerous sweeper.

  8. Lebroid - has to be included in this list despite his low stars. very good monster in both PvP and PvE for low cost.

  9. Slimetank…ok so not him.

  10. Aurodragon - number 1 most used PvE legendary. with good reason.

  11. Rhinedragon - while duck isn’t smart enough to find a use for him, i still think he is an incredibly powerful tool.

12/13. Sanctallion and Blitzdyr - as esperanza mentioned these guys can be very tricky to beat and can solo matches if they get going.

  1. kanna - her passive is one of the strongest in the game.

anyway you get the point.

oh and i forgor dusi

When talking PvP…

Chronotitan - Only specific setups with, say, Aethereon (this is actually how I built my latest link holy PvP team)

Excaliburdragon, F.D. Maeve, Shikabloom, Aurodragon - Also very much build around monsters. These ones mostly push you away from link holy.

Momo, Moku, Kanna, Dusicyon - Generically good monsters, they don’t care about being holy.

Valzareign, Lebroid, Rhinedragon, Sanctallion, Blitzdyr - Very mediocre for top level play. We don’t really see them.

I can’t speak for Jese_BlackFire, but I agree it’s silly to say that holy is bad or doesn’t have good monsters. The thing is, if people want to build link holy then they run into the problem that there are no big payoffs to make it worth restricting yourself. Instead, all you notice is what holy lacks as an element. The biggest thing it lacks is generic aggression. A number of the best holy monsters want you to build your team in a specific way, which is very hard to do when you’re restricting yourself to only 1/6 of your monster collection.

Btw I just took a look at how many holy monsters are in the top of the tier list. Not counting the monsters which are being added soon… 7/42 of the A tier or better mythics are holy. That’s exactly 1/6! For legendaries it’s 8/70 in S- tier or better. That’s pretty poor, so it’s definitely lacking there and maybe that’s another sign why link holy struggles, but it’s still got a few high fliers (classics like Dusicyon and Angelion).

You are too correct. And I also think Devs shouldn’t abuse the ability: Purifying Mist. I would not like to see a new mythical Holy with that same ability

I ran a lot of duo color teams - mostly shadow with light, and I can say it is a strong element and can be build together with others.

Please no! Link water is already too cringe with all those water monsters with entrances

But as the title suggests we can’t discriminate :joy::joy:
