So, Mike has promised an update in the near future, promising some balance changes. Speaking of balance, these two monsters have been total nightmares these past few exhibitions. Soulstealer’s sleep all has a 40% chance of sleeping EACH enemy, so it will hit almost 2 enemies on average each time. That’s half of the enemy force completely incapacitated. Sure doesn’t sound fair to me. As for Deodragon, with quick charge, 99 speed, and his buffed damage, he can unleash a one charge blast before literally everything else, one shoting most SEs and a few legends, and weakening every non tanky monster enough that an aoe from any other fast legendary will finish the job. While some monsters like the TTs and Raizen can punish it afterward, not everyone has these monsters on hand, so those who don’t can kiss their entire FL goodbye, maybe even half their entire team.
SS doesn’t need a full blown nerfing, his DSA generally is perfectly avoidable. All that needs to happen is to have his sleep all odds reduced. All the non legends with sleep all seem substantially less effective, with what seems like about a 20% chance, it seems fair that SS have his rate lowered to 20. After all, it affects all 4 enemies, so the odds definitely need to be lower to keep it on the same level as 60% single sleep.
I don’t think the devs really thought things through with Deodragon, right now his damage is simply too high. It’s okay for a 2 charge blast to be lethal, but it is not okay for him to wipe entire FLs with a single charge, not if he’s going to have quick charge. Either they need to bring the damage back down some, but keep it high enough that 2 charges is still deadly, or just make quick charge unuseable for the first 50 seconds he’s on the field. This way he can still charge twice in 101 seconds, but he won’t be able to do one charge instantly anymore. He’s stun immune and has fair defense, so I doubt he’d struggle to survive for 100 seconds anyway.
You say these things just because you don’t have him. They are really good I know but they are always legendaries. They have to be strong and they are not op. If you want SS needed you have to nerf also Stag. Deo before was really useless because of too much TU for moves
I do have SS actually, just recently got him. And being on the other side of the battlefield, I still believe he’s quite overly oppressive. I’ve slept 3-4 enemies at once a few times, and promptly won the match because of it. And yeah, Stag will have to be hit too, as well as the guys with sleep revenge. I’m sorry, but 40% is simply too much.
Plus, the same can be said for the other side of the argument too; maybe a lot of the people who voted no did so because they were lucky enough to hatch the particular monsters necessary to counter these guys. But if you want to make a credible argument about how good a monster is, you just have to accept that your experience in pvp does not represent everyone else’s experience- not even close.
And I’m aware that deo used to be useless. I’m not expecting the devs to make him useless again. That’s not the purpose of nerfs. Their purpose is make sure that strong monsters can be dealt with in a reasonable number of ways. I just feel like there are too few ways to deal with these guys right now.
Devs shouldn’t nerf SS his sleep all doesn’t always work out and when he gets taken out you basically have a frontline with no one to support. Anyone can counter him all you need is a monster with purify or poison gas.
Agree Deo is a must… about SS is sleel all looks like potent sleep sometimes anyway
Devs could change SS sleep all to dual sleep same as wraithcaptain with less % ratio or maybe this would make
him even more op…single sleep is not the best option i guess
DEO needs a nerf definitely, but as is easily countered by many strategies. I have never lost to a SS FL teams the past few exhibitions. Please leave SS out of this.
I own an ss with adequate fl support for him. Let me tell you the success rate in pvp is like less than 50% which is an indication that the monster is viable.
Now out of the deo fl I have faced, almost 9 out of 10 is a backdoor ramming for me. So maybe the secret skill is fine but for the regular charge, it should be single target instead of AOE because that is too gnarly of a power to face. A deo is basically a ss on speed.
