Y’all are ruining a perfectly fine monster I hope you know this :pensive: there are so many other monsters that are just as powerful or more powerful. Why’s it feel like we’ve got to have a nerf discussion every other week because there’s a monsters that’s ā€œpeskyā€ to some people lol

Many ppl didn’t realize that berserk attack + finishing snap is other version of death wish.

Berserk attack 70 + finishing snap 30 = 100tu hits random
Death wish = 100tu hits random

Kamiwyrm can use death wish 1x after 1 kill.
And magma can use death wish multiple times without restriction. Be grateful of this.

Both have stun immune. But magma has Hg and unlimited repent.

Both are sweeper. Kami has bloothirst 130tu after 2 kills. Magma has random bloodcrave 70tu after killing 1 monster with dual slayerbane 50tu.

lol. I thought death wish is same as sudden death 100tu. but I was wrong.
death wish of Djinzar is 80tu. and death wish of kami is 50tu because it becomes secret. so basically death wish is 80tu.

With so many desperate biters and shielded monsters, you thought Berserk attack + finishing snap is as powerful as death wish.

Sorry but gotta disagree with your argument there, finishing snap is another move to charge berserker smash and note that the charged move is random as well, its a gamble. Dual slayerbane is only 1 time use people so dont fricking nerf or change it. Only thing I wanna have magma changed is the basic attack with lower damage or the charged attack with higher TU coz its weird for me that they have the same TU yet 1 is stronger.

The moves are the same tu just like timestrike and bloodcrave have the same tu. Except these are random and both have recoil.

i found a counter to him. Just kill magma when you see it. I promise it works.

I don’t agree with a lot of the points made by Black here and Geo is definitely better than Magma because of the utility backstab offers but I’d like to point out a couple of things:

  • The SS of Magma deals 6k damage to both monsters if one of them has just one kill, i.e. it’s practically guaranteed one-shot on two monsters very quickly after it enters the field and is incredibly hard to avoid.
  • Berserk Smash is charged after just one kill, again doing many thousands. This means that after the initial 50TU double hit which should get at least one kill then Magma can begin sweeping at 70TU.
  • The recoil on Smash is only 20%, the Attack is 50% (quoting myself there back from release).

Put that stuff together and you have one very brutal sweeper. The later attacks are random but the initial one and finishing snap can be used to remove key targets extremely quickly, meaning the random side of this monster isn’t really an issue.

This monster is clearly one of the best sweepers and a huge pain to deal with. The secret skill might be a bit too overpowered, but I am hesitant to call nerf on it because there are other monsters out there which offer so much to a team. To be honest I think we’ve just got to accept this monster as an awesome sweeper and be very fearful of seeing it.

If a nerf is needed then I’d say it has to be on the secret skill and something not too bad. For example, a time restriction of 50s from first turn. Basically just to give the opponent time to react and hopefully kill it before it gets the guaranteed kills on key monsters. What I think the Devs will do is nerf the damage so it’s like what other slayerbane moves do. That makes sense too but really takes away from the beautiful setup Magma has for its ā€œbloodcraveā€ move.

Not only secret and regular skill. His passive is also great.
I’m curious when magma comes with shiva, volcamus, saberzor. Accelerated then stepback to ashterios.

Timestrike and bloodcrave are diff moves with diff conditions, the berserk moves are of the same nature except the other one is a charged move and yet they have the same tu and damage output of the basic move is kinda huge, 1 shots some stuff so yeah I find it weird. I’m ok with magma not getting a nerf but if it should get one then I suggest to touch these moves only and not the finishing snap and ss.

Magma ss doesnt one shot mechaviathan and other bulky water legendaries and dont forget you can counter the ss with stealth, shield or sending back the mon with kills or even use repent on the said monster. The meta is one where you get rid of key targets precisely and not randomly so the randomness of sharks 2 main moves makes it balanced even if it hurts.

I find this a funny statement to use. The fact the SS doesn’t one-shot a very small bunch of legendaries when in its weakest form (one target with one kill) seems insignificant. Basically it one-shots both monsters and at extremely high speed from its entry to the battlefield plus being incredibly difficult to kill before this first attack. Stealth, shields, repent, sendback, knockback… it’s incredibly unlikely to have these available at the correct time in your team plus getting them in that small window. In reality the SS from Magma is going to cause devastation most of the time.

The ā€œbloodā€ version of the berserk move has much less recoil (I think) so this is a big reason to use it over the standard one.

Believe me they are available always especially with valza and dusicyon. Also poison teams kinda screw it up especially bane and terror with tt. Magma is fast but not fast enough, you have a window for it though to kill it. If you see it in reinforcements then you just need to time your kills so that once it enters you can kill it right away. Also the rng for its 2 main moves is a double edged sword especially if you hit dr/pr passive monsters and also monsters that benefit when put on hg (peng, drako)

I guess it depends what your team is made up of. Poison is a good way of dealing with it, that’s a very good point.

Yeah, had my magma killed by poison teams lots of times before it could do its slayerbane move. Then again its ss is a one time use so damage should be like that.
