Welcome to the first of three upcoming posts where I present to you the monster ideas I came up with over the last weekend. As you can tell, Iāve been on a bit of a Norse Mythology train as thereās so many cool monster designs present in the lore. However, the first monster is the odd one out as it was an idea that Iāve put on hold as itās initial design was just too much. Hopefully itās a lot more balanced and less excessive.
Name: Pepsisdemic (A Tarantula Hawk with a navy-blue body and blood-red wings that has a purple skull pattern on them.)
Element: Fire
Stars: 6
Cost: 13-16
Atk/Def: Full Attack
Speed: 65%
Moves:
Dual Poison Touch
LINK Double Poison Eater
Incubate (1 use) (This move targets one monster on the opponentās field. It halves the attack of the targeted monster, applies Unmovable to it and kills it after 250sec. The monster is then replaced with a Cazavae.)
Electrifying Sting (130Tu) (This attack targets one monster; it deals damage to the target and poisons it. If the target is already poisoned, the target is stunned for 100sec.)
Secret Skill: Infestation (This move sacrifices the user and adds 2 Cazavae in random places in your opponentās reinforcements. This skill cannot be used until 200 seconds have passed since this monsters first turn.)
Passives:
Toxic Entrance
Stun Immunity
Name: Cazavae (A small larvae)
Element: Fire
Stars: 1
Cost: 0
Atk/Def: Full Defense
Speed: 40%
Moves:
Paralytic Toxin (This move sacrifices the user, poisoning all monsters on your field and increases their TU by 30sec.)
Metamorphosize (This move sacrifices the user and adds a Pepsisdemic to the next in line in your opponentās reinforcements at 50%HP)
Passives:
Stun Immunity
Defiant (This monster cannot be targeted by your monsterās skills.)
As you can see, Iāve spent quite some time figuring out how I could translate the habits of the tarantula hawk into monster form, that being its infamously painful sting and itās reproductive habits. Hence why I gave it a move that infects an enemy monster, crippling it before it dies and becomes a Cazavae. Now the Cazavae is unique in that you canāt simply backstab it like you could any other token monster, leaving the opponent with a dilemma; do they help set up you other poison monsters, or give you a free Pepsisdemic? As for why itās a Fire type; thatās because Fire is starting to become a secondary typing for Poison monsters, with powerful options such as Keeperdragon, Volcavenus and the soon to be released Gorgodrake.
Name: Veưrfƶlnir (A hawk with gold-coloured feathers, sitting atop a massive tree.)
Element: Earth
Stars: 5
Cost: 10
Atk/Def: Full Attack
Speed: 60%
Moves:
Youāre Grounded
ELEM Inspire (3 Uses)
Bloodcrave
ELEM Accelerate
Passives:
Hold Ground
This monster may look a lot like Aviaronix, but itās isnāt as versatile as the former. Itās main purpose is to give the Super Epic pool access to Youāre Grounded, a move which Iām surprised is still limited to The Rockoid. Asides from that, itās your average sweeper that can also offer a decent amount of support. Any thoughts so far?
