It definitely isnāt normal behaviour to me. It might be like that in your small community but that doesnāt mean it works like that everywhere else. Intellectual people will look at you weirdly if you make those ājokesā.
I made those jokes as a kid when I didnāt properly understand what it meant. Now itās just cringy, childish behaviour to me. But hey, to each their own 
However, you will find the same rules about homophobic comments in any other forum too, so if you keep at it, actions will be taken.

Idk btw, a friend of mine got beaten up for simply throwing the word āfā ggotā at a guy who bumped into him in a club. This guyās girl and his friends tried to restrain him but he jumped at my friend so quickly, he just smacked him in the face instantly.
It may depend from where youāre from, but here where I live you should NEVER accuse a rando of being a homosexual because thereās still a ton of prejudice and stigma around the matter (weāre the birthplace country of Catholicism after all). Challenging somebodyās masculinity can yield horrible results
