ah great, now he’s even worse. The enemy can just kill him with their low health mon and dispose of it quickly. I think my enthusiasm for this guy is fully gone.
the same amount of hp as the mon that killed it had at the time of the attack
Hypothetically. His purpose is to threaten the mirror revenge, and also survivor and desperate strike if the enemy leaves him alive. It makes the enemy have a need to decide, should I kill it or not. If the enemy doesn’t have a good monster to just throw to you, then they are in a pickle. Either way, I definitely think he’ll be more useful in higher buffed PvE events.
I think he’s still a decent mon for certain things, he’s no death chicken but still a good mon imo
I do think he is a decent monster with the right line up…Purify would make him way too OP for a super epic…
Exactly. I believe they added protector to force people to kill him before poison monster gets on field…also to give him a weakness kind of like SE assisted attack monsters have sleep all for no synergystic reason except to make them weak to sleep killer lol i guess helps keep it enough away from feeling like legendary
it’s a very decent monster to me
People are forgetting that he has protect teammates so you can’t just chose who to kill him with. If in pvp someone has a legendary with full Hp up next and skips and your next and you skip then depending on the move set of the legendary (may have purify etc) he has no choice but to kill him giving you a full Hp legendary
Yes, this was my thinking too. He makes for a great distraction due to his Survivor, and teams won’t want to let him get a strike in once he gets to HG due to his Desperate Strike, so will be forced to either take him out with whatever mon they have to go or let him do significant damage with DS.
He’s very much a mixed mon with his moveset - which was done very intentionally, I think. If he didn’t have HG, his Mirror Revenge would be insane. As is, it’s more of a threat. It can be avoided with poison (but that means your opponent needs to have a poisoner on the field), by taking itself out with Survivor, or by Knock Back. It can protect, it can hit hard with DS when down to HG and it can hit hard with Survivor if it’s left alone. It can do serious damage and/or can revive a monster, or it could do nothing. It’s got deliberate weaknesses that don’t make it OP but mean it has to be taken down carefully.
I think it makes for a great support mon. It will require some real strategic thought to take out (unless of course you/your opponent has a poisoner on the field, which is luck of the draw), and at the very least will be a distraction whilst it’s on the field.
And as said, may be very useful against the AI. I wonder if the devs will program in intelligent thinking for them to take it down, or it will be more along the lines of their logic when you have a Last Stander on the field and they take out the Death Revenger first. Given it’s DS/Survivor, most likely the AI will take it down as soon as it’s been on the field more than 300s or is in the red. Of course if you protect, you give them no choice.
He’s certainly unique!
Yeah I kind of liking this monster even with hold ground. It could really be useful depends on the situation.
