Defence matters against Infernicorn too, it had piercing too. Piercing just deals higher damage but it wonât treat the target as 0 defence.

I have seen many monsters surving itâs double piercing blow (non-earth too) without attack boost.
that´s because it doesn´t do enough damage without attack boost, doesnt change the fact it ignores def.

Actually it does, I remember testing it with the first piercing monster I got (Bunkerbeast) and I was amazed to see it dealt massive damage compared to other monsters. Turns out it does the exact same damage to everything regardless of defence, hence why it seemed huge in comparison.
Plus, I tested Bundamâ Power Slash against Boss Ziberius and, despite having hugely inflated defence, it received the same damage as it did to any other Water monster in PvP (~5500 damage)
