Btw I was referencing hearthstone (magic but online) as a way to show that monsters can be nerfed/changed for reasons other than their power level. In that example, blizzard nerfed Ragnaros the Firelord because it was just a win more card that didn’t need much deck building skill to use. That’s why in neo monsters I think it would be a good idea to change certain monsters so they are still at the same power level but not super easy to include in your team just because you own the monster and want to win more battles. That way no one feels cheated that they paid for a super strong monster that just had its power nerfed and the pvp meta can be more diverse as people branch off and try new strategies.
Yeah I’m definitely gonna make a new thread for this. I think this canishogun thread should be closed by the end of the day so different discussions can be moved elsewhere. It seems we have all mostly reached a consensus on canishogun
Right, that’s kind of where I was getting at lol as it’s the only viable way of balancing the game is to do so that way.
You dont like my thread anymore lol?
Let’s not forget the Dolphreeze case! Dolphreeze used to be built around, as its entrance summoned two Diamonoids and therefore shut down monsters with RAW moves. With the hammer of doom being released on AP spam in November last year, this was even a better restraint to Dolphreeze’s power, but then they made its biggest drawback able to be activated at will! That was a real step back towards balance, especially with the addition of Dolphin Bond and the removal of the old secret skill, which was imho very balanced, just like to Blossomight’s Petal Blitz.
They did edit Dolphin Bond and I’m not gonna lie, I didnt see any FL with both Dolphins this PvP where it was everywhere last PvP, so it does make a difference.
Guaranteed value was the main problem with that one but then the devs made it even stronger with dolphin bond. I think it is fine where it is now. There are some other things like certain game mechanics and other monsters that can make it troublesome but the monster itself is fine I think.
That’s true, 50% buff is a bigger improvement towards balance from the previous 100% buff, Moreover Unmovable is no more so that’s definitely kek. That being said, I guess I’m the only poor sod who ran into Sea World teams regularly.
@NMEduck definitely, yet it still makes me uneasy when I face one in FL, even if my first Chrono monster is in 9th place
I mean dont get me wrong, in the previous PvP Sea World was EVERYWHERE and pretty ridiculous, but since the buff reduction people stopped running it because, while Dolphreeze is still incredible without the boost, Dolphoenix unfortunately is only great with said boost.
Things never change,
Anything i lose to has to be nerfed.
I thought you quit
Yeah he just pops up on the forum to say that the game is bad every now and then lol
Lol I’m talking about the community,
Anything they lose against and its kind of cheap in there eyes they make nerf topics about it. 99% of the time they dont even own the monster and were just recently beaten by it and 100% of the time when you look at there team you know why they lost. But lets move on to the best part of these topics
The fun part starts when a veteran player gives his opinion and why the monster is fine and gives out strategies to beat the monster other losers hope in the nerf bandwagon that are mostly releative new to the game and start an argument.
A pure demonstration is the bastia topic, one loser starts the topic because his team was recently demolished by it, others hop on the bandwagon, someone says no its fine and it should be strong because its a mythic behind a large paywall and suggest counters, they ignore his suggestion and bring in his mythic buddies as a arguement and say how we will beat him and his mythic buddies if we adjust our team, well your not suppose to beat him and his mythic buddies when your a f2p that refuses to play counters.
Its simply amazing pure gold
I think bastia should be nerfed because it is op even for a mythic. I didn’t even trouble with it in pvp I was 3-0 against everyone who used it and I was able to kill it on my first turn but I still think it should be nerfed.
Says the guy who turned into a crybaby when Nagandia demolished his beloved AP Spam setup lol.
Care to explain how i was demolished while maintaining rank 1 ??
All i suggested maybe restriction or a rework never said kill the monster like what the community said and devs implemented.
alrighty, if you’re crying it’s “suggesting a rework” if others do it it’s “killing the monster”
Double standards from you here but that’s nothing new I guess
“One loser starts the topic”.
Is there any need for that Mr X? I enjoyed our chat the other day and here you are name calling, targeted at me when I wasn’t even on the thread. I was just a bit upset that half my monsters don’t work now, so feel like my Bastia thread was justified and even VKC seemed to agree.
But why are you even still here? To stir things up in a game you don’t even play anymore? Don’t you have better things to do?
Someone else to talk to?
If you’re just coming to laugh at the game, devs or troll the community, can you just leave?
PS, last time I played a Bastia FL, it was against DonT during ranked and I won. Still want it nerfed.
Let’s not argue guys. This thread started with a reasonable suggestion about the move Flame Eater and it then spiralled into a much bigger discussion about when it’s right to nerf or not. While that’s still fine, it’s taken a bad turn now.
P.S. Never got to add my opinion on Flame Eater: I was concerned about it being abused with piercing to kill non-fire things and get another turn quickly but actually the damage is too low for this even with the piercing so it’s basically a weaker Execute (for non-fire). If the damage was higher I’d say it should only get the TU reduction when hitting fire enemies but it’s basically fine how it is and, as someone pointed out, it doesn’t give the turn straight back to Canishogun… there’s a slight TU to pass even when he’s potted and accelerated.
