Between that last two PVP season I’ve definitely battled over 100 people. I have literally never seen anyone use him besides myself. I love when I get the chance to sterockiod the rockiods he gives and smash a legendary or mythic. I can literally imagine some players getting pretty annoyed when it happens.
What’s your hero rank?
He’s a good monster for sure, but many people either don’t have him (only released twice?) or they prefer to jam their team full of stun immune top tier legendaries while the rest is all synergistic. The Rockoid synergises with other monsters which create rocks if you place him later in the team. Very few top tier monsters create rocks so I think that steers people away from using him.
I’m glad you have a lot of fun with it though (seen in the other thread), The Rockoid has a very cool design. I wish more people would use it instead of Penguinator… it’s basically Penguinator v2 and turned into rockoid synergy form.
That is me. I am many people. He has the only counter to hold ground monsters (in terms critical damaging moves) and his SS
Let’s be realistic, KD is right, running The Rockoid need a pretty strong throw setting. And good monsters such Na’torgoul, so you can effectively sacrifice Rocks.
There are a few top notch monsters which create rocks, but to make it work well enough in the top bracket of PvP you kind of need to have most of those monsters. Not many people do and I think many people are hesitant to try things that aren’t tried and tested by others. Unown has had a couple of great throw sections of teams and I’ve seen one or two other people doing it too, mainly built around Emeraldeus, Ahuizard and a couple of earth throw monsters.
Throw, and other strategies that are on the verge of being viable but need certain monsters or enough good monsters of that type, don’t get used much by people. Instead we see lots of the monsters that work jammed into any team like Infernicorn (shield entrance + stun converter + double piercing blow), Magmarinus (HG + stun immune + dual slayerbane that one-shots), Dolphreeze (time’s up + two diamonoids), etc. There are a number of reasons for this but one is probably because people don’t have the right collection of throw monsters to make it as strong as the other teams they can make.
The Rockoid works reasonably by itself but to compete with the best monsters out there you really need some throw stuff going on.
I have the rockoid in my team. but no other throw monsters… Mostly just use him for Throwmaggedon
Most people in the forum: no you can’t just revive an old post, its 7 months old
Lasercorp and killerdog: haha reply button go click
I wanted to come back to this post a couple of months later because after singing praises for The Rockoid I ended up hatching it in the Valentine’s Day festival
But I’m not Lasercorp so I wouldn’t be able to do that and remain cool
Done, i edited it
wait what, HAVE I BEEN SUMMONED
People think you need a strong throw setup to use him effectively. I actually keep him within a few slots of last. Have legendary protectors out around the same time he comes in and a rockiod in my last slot. He almost always survives till the six or seven little minions come out my win rate isn’t super high but it’s above 50 percent so I’d say for a free to play player that’s not bad. He is literally still the bread and butter of my team and I don’t run a throw team. He’s almost always mixed into a sleep team or poison team. My bane is late game stunners lol. But when I’m fighting someone with a strong first half and they get to the end where two revenge kill protectors, a mirror revenge or two come out, Mr Rockiod and maybe a stunner if I sent him back. He can piss some people off lol. I do occasionally use his throw secret skill but only if I’m down to five/six opponents. To me it’s basically just a full wipe bonus if you time it right. It the timing never comes being able to throw forever and crush hold ground users is more than good enough until his little buddies come out.
I never replied to you lol it’s 120 at that time probably 110
