The price increase with amazing odds that we have had means 1 new legend for £60 And that’s for only 250 gems. Great.
And I’ll get the bad legend!
What would have been awesome is if this gem deal was the new all time egg deal

Well he (ripper) has a right to be angry and make demands then. He is a high paying customer. The devs need to listen to their customers. I hope they give us something special with the eggs today! They can still redeem themselves.
It’s a 3rd year anniversary for flips sakes! It better be a celebration.

Yeah I don’t like how they have used the anniversary for changes each year. First year was great, they introduced the brilliant extra legends in the first few packs. Second anniversary I was unhappy about because they lowered the legendaries you get overall, but almost the whole community was happy about it so it went by smoothly (people love their guaranteed stuff). Third anniversary we now have a change people don’t like… we see the full fury of the community. The Devs should be a lot more careful with the changes they make at this time of year.
I completely agree, but there comes a point when you have to draw the line. Just because someone is a paying customer doesn’t mean they can abuse the staff or use their spending as bargaining power (isn’t that called something like blackmail?).

He isn’t bragging about his spending nor is he using it to get what he wants

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I was talking about people using their big spending as a bargaining chip in general, not what Ripper was doing. He was just being rude to everyone out of frustration.
P.S. Sorry everyone for losing it and being rude earlier in a post. I was just trying hard here to get people thinking about the gem deal and how it could work for the game. There are pros and cons, people only seemed to be thinking about the cons and when I tried to give a balanced perspective I got hate for it.
I think we’re all just annoyed since we love this game so much and don’t want to see it go down the drain

I agree lines need to be drawn, and we should be respectful. I wasn’t saying anything to the contrary.
I completely disagree though that using our spending as bargaining power can be likened to blackmail. It’s a perfectly normal thing to do as a customer, and I would encourage it.
So if I got a business that purchases 20 cars each year you think I’m not going to use that as a bargaining chip to get a better deal? Only an idiot wouldn’t. The car dealer would be very happy as well. It’s normal.

The amount of gems from 2x is wrong because when you do the first purchase you can’t get the 2x again so for example the amount of gems for the 150 gems deal is 600.
The problem is that this gem sale is also a bad business move. This doesn’t stimulate the players to spend more but less, so I don’t get the point of the devs.

Remember last year when they told us what the anniversary Christmas and New Years egg content would be
Yes, but say the car dealer wanted to make an alteration to the car you like to buy and you say “hey man, I don’t want that alteration so if you make it I’m going to find someone else to buy from. You better not make that alteration”. That’s what I’m talking about.
Yeah but you can’t make the comparison of cost for each gem so clearly then. I tried to simplify things then mention afterwards how the 2x gems is just for one pack.
Tbh I really wish the Devs had done this…
- Create the gem deal exactly as it is
- Add a note saying “this is going to be the new format for gem deals in the future”
- Add a special “anniversary bonus” of +100 extra gems on the first purchase of the 150 gem pack

So I worked it out, this gem deal does give more for its buck
For me
260 in the old deal would get me 450 gems
260 in the new deal will give me 530 gems
Devs really needed to step in and say something this gem deal as the new standard would have been fine. But people think damn I’m only going to buy a 3 pack and get the guaranteed as the odds are so bad. But let’s say the devs made it ok here’s the new gem deal it’s going to be standard in all next years festival but for the anniversary we have made it
40 gems for 1 pack or higher odds for the legends featured so if you roll 6 packs you will get a. Good chance for getting all the new legends but this will be only for anniversary or even the idea set by killerdog. Etc. As long as the anniversary egg comes off as something awesome to say thanks for playing 3 years. People wouldn’t have jumped the gun and would have spent something
Now we need to wait and see how the festival ends up

These deals are expensive. For the x2 gem deal you would get 300 for £75. Given the odds of generic festival eggs, not a lot of people would be keen to spend £75 three times in this deal. It’ll be more cost efficient to just wait for 3 separate x2 gem deals.
Getting 900 over time seems smarter than getting less now. I doubt a lot will blow through all their gems in this festival.
I still want to know why some players are getting screwed on the gem pricing.
