Let’s have an event where we can actually feel good about spending or buying gems. This percentage seems much more reasonable than 80 dollars only being worth 30 eggs with barely a chance at a legendary monster.
It would be a great time where we can show support for the game financially. Help newer players get new and advance a little bit quicker. And hopefully help more end game players get something other than SE dupe
I just think you are overpricing this game by way to much. The current 6 10 in one event is pretty much you guys saying each of those digital monsters on a cell phone game is worth 160 dollars…
Do you know how many games on steam or apps from the app store I can buy for 160 dollars? And somehow your 1 monster is worth more than 30-50 complete games? I don’t think so…
This hurts you guys in the long term. New players will never spend money because they don’t feel it’s worth it. And continuing players won’t spend money because they already have a decent team and can just accumulate gems for events they want to roll in. Your just pricing yourself out of everything and pushing players away. it doesn’t really seem like the best decision to help this game advance and have a growing player base like I’m sure you and the players want
I think if they do this rigth now it will be a huge problem for all the players who spend with 6% chance… You say the new players will not spend but that is your way of see the things… This game in a general balance is good and maybe you are not gonna be top in 2 days but if you play you can have fun dude! the old players got their teams cause they got a lot of playing and maybe spending too so you cant just simple put all people in the same place that is respectful cause they got good time playing… hoy many games you have seen than the old/top players are surpass by new ones in a little time? badly unbalance p2w games for sure… but thanks to everything than this game is not that simple.
Additionally I want to add that this game has such a huge potential to be one of the biggest cell phone games of all time.
It is a great game. Much better than Pokemon ever was or will be. There’s just a huge disconnect between what a player needs to continue and invest vs what you’re giving them. I personally wish there was a much bigger active community and thats just not going to happen with the current system.
I agree latzgl that people have spent a lot of time to accumulate and be at the top. That is a huge deterrent for new players though. No one wants to be at the bottom unable to compete.
I’m not saying compete at the top level. I’m saying to compete at any level without any monsters to synergize accross 16 monsters results in what is a huge “paywall” anyway.
My point is that in it’s current state there will never be the player base to Support it long term and it will never have the player base that summoners war (which is a crap game) has or clash of clans. When it is a billion times better than those games.
Here is what I think:
Gems are fine priced the way they are.
However, sales need to happen every once in a while. $10 for 50 gems is fair.
You can put a limit on how many they can purchase. You don’t want top players getting 400 gems for the price of 150. So make it so that each player can buy one of the offer.
I get this idea that top players don’t want competition so they can reap the benefit of the best rewards during competitions but that is exactly why this game has a revolving door of players joining and quitting.
No, some of us just care about the devs.
Let me put this into perspective:
At double the festival rates, you have a 12.2% chance of a legendary. Which is what you suggest. This is 0.3% off of a 12.5% chance. Which is a 1 in 8 chance for a legendary.
This means that if I do 60 eggs, then I should expect 7-8 legendaries. Add on the guaranteed one and the guaranteed limited legend, then you have 9-10 legendaries. Meaning that on average, you would get 1 legendary in 6 eggs. Then we add on the 3 50% chance rolls and 1 60% roll. Going with the average, you would get another 2 legends. Meaning that you would have gotten 12 legendaries.
What this means is that what will happen is that all the top/mid level players will spend, get all the regular egg legends, and then save up 300 gems to get the limited legend that they want. They would never spend anything ever again. Just cherrypicking legends that they want as they come by.
This is suicide for the devs. They would be handing out all of the legends they spent a bunch of time making, and then they would have a drastically reduced income. As all the top/mid level players would have everything they want. The devs would then be able to do less for the game and maybe run out of buisness eventually.
I want the devs to make money. So they can live. Dev’s gotta eat after all.
I agree with you 100% but I doubt they’ll ever change it. I would like them to increase the rare gem egg hatch chances for legendary atleast and also take away hatching duplicate monsters. It is the biggest smack in the face to finally hatch a lengendary to see it’s the the same legendary you have opened before.
Hatching dupes is an issue, but we need a different solution than just removing it.
Even with the good points and needing a slight increase over drastic increase there still needs to be a way of catching new/partially invested players to stay and continue playing.
I agree.
Which is why we need sales on gems $10 for 50 gems is a good deal.
Plus 60 eggs is a massive number of eggs to roll and would take a huge amount of time to accumulate. The increase to something more reasonable but still a big boost to overall odds would increase income due to a huge influx in the amount of people buying gems…
Think about this for a second.
This game has a buy in of 99 cents turning a lot of people away instantaneously. On top of that is a huge learning curve. On top of that is an inaccessibility to monsters that synergize. On top of that is the lack of availability to high rank monsters and the need to fill 16 slots.
500,000 downloads in total
Summoners war: free, not to difficult to accumulate monsters, had inferior PvP, easy to learn, guild fights, moved into real time PvP, becoming esport.
50 million downloads
We can all agree that summoners war is crap compared to this game yet there’s a reason why they are making a ton more money than this game.
So you guys can say no all you want but in comparison this game is doing horrible for itself when there’s access to millions of people willing to pay and no one is picking this game which is far superior.
Should I even talk about clash of clans? Bringing in 892 million dollars in a year?over 5 million dollars a day…
Yeah, I do agree that the $0.99 needs to go away.
Also, sure 60 eggs is a lot of eggs. I can get it in 2-3 months. Top players that farm 50 gems per ultimate challenge can do it in a month. But the issue here is that when I can expect 1 legend from 5 eggs or so, them that is a rediculous amount of legendaries. Most of the playerbase would feel the same way, and would never spend after that. Just accumulating gems through normal play and then hatching on these eggs.
We can also see that summoners war has lot more monsters than neo does. So the making it easier part there makes sense for them, while it makes little sense for neo. Where monsters are essentially a new dimension to a team.
If I suddenly got an influx of 20 legends, then I would end up getting bored very quickly. As the fun in the game comes from hatching these eggs and seeing the occasional legendary come out. Remove that for me, and I will stop playing as the game’s greatest achievement is all of the sudden very common.
Note that the game actually has little to no learning curve. A learning curve is a measure of how much time you have to spend learning controls and the basics. If you want an example pf a high learning curve go check out the rougelike DCSS. Which is like strategically playing the piano on your keyboard. Keep in mind that learning curve doesn’t include depth. Chess for instance has a small learning curve. You learn what 6 different pieces do, a few special rules, and you can play. However, chess has an absolutely rediculous amount of depth. That depth isn’t part of the learning curve however.
Neo has a tutorial that takes 10 minutes and covers all the basic aspects of the game. Very small learning curve.
Yes I accept that the game could have a larger audience. In fact, I would love to see it grow to the proportions that summoners war has. But handing out legends like candy is a terrible idea that eats into the revenue stream pf the devs on the long term. Like sugar for instance, you eat a bit every few days and it doesn’t hurt. Eat a ton in one sitting and you will feel sick and not want anymore for a long time.
Last I heard, Clash royale makes $380 million a month. Yes the game has a long way to go. Step 1: remove the 99 cent download cost.
I’m not saying hand them out like candy. Just make it more reasonable to accumulate. Make festivals an 8.5 percent chance and 40 percent for super epic.
Give something to the players to make them stay.
Sure maybe a couple people will think “oh I’m not as good as I thought I just had all the monsters other people didn’t” and quit because it’s an equal battle field. But the truth is and equal playing field is what makes people want to play instead of getting destroyed without even a chance of winning.
If we look at the numbers, this game is doing it wrong compared to other games and if we are talking from a revenue point the more players there are the more money the Devs will make.
So by either increasing the odds or decreasing the cost of gems and proper marketing this game could have 20 times the amount of paying customers and player base
I do have to agree with kickingwing in regards to new players. Thats a fair point. I also get Devs have to make money. Gems prices are too high and there is never any sales of gems. Theres no promotion in terms of making people wanting to spend.
Also as the rolls are all luck based. Its unfortunate that 1 spends and gets nothing but its the risk of the game.
And tbh you are fortunate as back in days you never got 300 gems guranteed legend. And now we do.
Gem offers. Problem solved.
Note that the “equal playing field” isn’t the thing hat will get people to quit. I like equal playing fields. It means that pure skill is required to win.
People will quit because they will spend a bunch, then they will have collected all the legends, they will make all the teams they can, then they will quit because they bored of having no new options and having no way to get more at the rate they did. This happens to top players already. Hidan, Thill, and Lax all quit from boredom. Upping the legendary rate will make that happen at a far accelerated rate.
People will quit from boredom by not winning and being at the top. That will happen in every single game ever made. But by catering to the middle class and casual spenders it will increase revenue, fun and difficulty for the top players in PvP events. Another part would be having a ranking board and more consistent PvP to keep top players entertained without sacrificing 95% of the casual spending player base.
Definitely if we are looking at pure money vs sacrificing the joy of legendaries we can reach a middle ground where it’s more reasonable and entertaining to new players and middle ground players. Those top players that quitbecause they have everything, left in the current system. It’s unreasonable to think this game will grow in it’s current state because it has proven over a couple years that it will not.
What i have learn of everygame is it dont have to be good for be viral or massive… This is a very difficult industry guys cause the 80% of the games in playstore are just magazines… A game like this is good it is going well it also can improve with online chat online clans and other good things that everygame needs cause after all the only great problem here maybe are the dupes so to be clear it doesnt matter if this game get the perfection dude cause we are unpredictable in almost everything is not easy just take this changes and dont think that the game is not massive just for the 6% percent of get the leg it is not massive just for our strange way of see the things… Plus i agree it have to be free on playstore… Maybe it will get more audience or maybe not…
There’s not much else to say. Either the company will see what I’ve said and agree that a change would be positive, Or they will disagree and stay a nieche low player base game.
I just feel like they are destroying such a beautiful game by making it inaccessible to most casual players
The most casual players don’t need 25 legends to enjoy the game. Keep this in mind.
Prices are terrible. Yes. We need gem deals. That will fix it.
Remove the $0.99 cost to download too.
