Which monster do you want to see Buffed 🥳

Fact check:

  • Mythics were introduced 6 years ago.
  • When mythics were introduced, it consistently became 3 legendaries featured in each egg. It recently became 2 in each egg when they increased the number of eggs each week to 6.

The full details:

I actually wrote a guide with all the numbers back in 2018 for the pre-mythic era: KD's Egg drop rates analysis (with tips)

The tL;Dr is that the chance for a legendary being a featured one varied drastically based on the egg, with festivals and other eggs offering extra legendaries having lower boosted chance of featured legendaries to somewhat balance out the larger number of legendaries you’d get.

  • When mythics were introduced, they brought about a standardised 10x chance for featured legendaries, making them roughly 50% of the time (if I recall correctly) except in festivals when more were featured and they kept the 10x.

  • They later made this a standardised 15x chance for the 45/80 = 2.25% (of the 4%).

  • From the 6th anniversary onwards they basically changed it from a preset X times multiplier to something like their chance summing to a particular value. So now when they alter the number of featured it doesn’t alter the chance of featured vs non-featured. It’s roughly 50-60% chance of being a featured. (Forgive me if this isn’t the case now, I’m not 100% sure and we don’t have any non-anniversary eggs to check it)

  • Also note that the egg price reduced to 4 gems from 5 back when mythics released (or a year later?). Additionally our free gems income has only increased over the years, particularly in 2021 when it doubled with the release of the fortune shrine.

So all that considered… legendaries have got far far easier to get over time, both in quantity and in targeting specific ones.
