The foremost point is awakened one needs 14+ cost. I even think awakened lemon is less useful. It’s not worth to awake.So 50% for 2nd form is enough.
Kuromasa in 2nd form can ONLY double catapult. It requires inspire/GT support to work well. In final form it also has raw throw as a more normal damage move you can use to bypass protectors or when there isn’t a give turn straight afterwards. Assisted quake may come up too. For example, if a good monster was knocked back to the end of your team. The 2nd form balance looks fine to me.
Gorgodrake is one of those monsters where it becomes a lot clearer when you use it yourself. Basically, the chance to die makes a significant difference. With the 2nd form you, on average, get 3-4 turns. In the final form you get an average of 5 turns or, if you use the SS, 8-9 turns. So, as you can see, using the secret skill makes it survive way longer than the 2nd form. Remember also that’s an average so in the 2nd form you will very frequently have it die after 1 or 2 attacks, which is not enough to feel powerful. Then you can also factor in the combo potential with the secret skill + revival. Add onto that the fact it gains assisted blaze in final form and it should be clear it’s a lot stronger.
Now don’t get me wrong, both these second forms appear to do a great interpretation of their final forms. However, when you look into the specifics they’re less versatile and less reliable.
If you want to look at other mythics which have not much difference between 2nd and 3rd forms I put forward these two:
Kirina = only gains piercing desperate move and raw bloodthirst → raw bloodfury (which doesn’t matter because she already has true hit for bypassing protectors and faststrike will be absolutely fine for the second kill most of the time). The secret skill is a bit situational, for removing dead weight from your team for stun protection but switches off two of Kirina’s moves.
Leira = mermaid’s hex becomes lower TU and counter strike becomes piercing. The SS is a nice support move but nothing crazy. Let’s be real though… people use her for the very fast mermaid’s hex then don’t care much about having her on the battlefield so none of the downgrades in 2nd form actually matter much. She still passes 80s on entrance and has the combo synergy with that (swap for helper) and still has the mermaid’s hex move.
