What The Ultimate Challenge could have been

I feel that The Ultimate Challenge is one of the most lackluster events thusfar, allowing most players to play only four or five games before they hit a wall, after which they can’t continue.

This mode shows much potential, and it feels like a wasted opportunity leaving it as it is right now, so therefore I’ll post my suggestions here:

• The idea of going through 999 levels is fun, something that all players (excluding those that just started the game) should be able to do and therefore I would suggest to have no buffing at all after level 50. The teams should remain at the same difficulty as the teams on lvl 50.

• In return the ranking rewards should be removed, they serve no purpose as everybody can technically get to 999.

• But, the fun thing would be, to spread those ranking rewards randomly over the 999 levels, together with some extra stuff (silver, fruits, pixies, …), hidden just like the gatekeepers, and you will receive them if you either played the level that they are on, or skipped over them, just like in the first 50 levels

• The Gatekeepers however shouldn’t be placed on levels 200, 300, …, but also randomly over the 999 levels, and you will only get their rewards if you actually fight them. This would mean that you will have to search for the gatekeepers, maybe going to the forums to help others, which would lead to more people going here and getting this place more active. Maybe they are at lvl 51 and you just skipped to 70, tough luck for you. Or they could be at lvl 782 and almost nobody will get them except for a lucky few. If you decide to search for one or two gatekeepers, you will probably have to give up on the idea of getting to 999. You will have to grind a lot of fights, but in turn you might score a couple of gems.

• And in order to allow people to actually search for the gatekeepers and to go all the way to 999, the ticket cost should be halved.

To me this would seem more fun, the community would be more active, and most players wouldn’t have to give up immediatly after lvl 70 or 80.

Let me know what you think!

In General i think the buffing itself is necessary and that there is a point for every player, where he cant continue because he hits a wall is just the way it goes. Events are made to get harder with the higher levels but the thing with UC is, that the amount of buffing is absolutely insane. Reaching a point where youre only chance is, to avoid that the opponent gets the turn because one aoe kills all of your 4 monsters on the field is pointless. I think a charged bloodthirst should always be a one hit, same for dreamhunt. Until this point they should buff the monsters. After this point they maybe should just add more monsters to the enemy team but i’m not really sure what would be the best way. I like your idea but i also think it shouldnt be too easy, in the end it should remain a challenge.

I like the whole idea. But I don’t think the devs are gonna do it. They do listen to the community when it comes to Monster ideas and skill ideas, but when it comes to event ideas they don’t care about what the community says. The best example for that is dungeon challenge, the community have been suggesting a lot of ideas for that event for a long time, but they haven’t made any changes so far.
May be they made UC like this for boosting the sale of certain monsters. This is their source of income. They have to balance customer satisfaction and source of income. All of this is business anyway.
I would be happy if they do something like this in the future.

Ain’t liking the idea. They need to appeal to the spenders of the game that they feel their legendaries can accomplish something that others can’t - moreover there’s plenty of events for everyone. I personally enjoy the challenge to beat the gatekeepers ( they changed the floor 500 and 600 one which is nice ).

They could however blow up the Nebel strat tho cause little to no skill is involved creating 50 death revenge dupes but well… I guess they wanna earn money from Atrathsrsis festival

Not like sleeping the other team forever needs strategy.

No offence

It indeed does, have you watched hidans gatekeeper vid from the last UC? One Mistake and your whole team gets destroyed from these super buffed enemies. Takets a lot of strategy to win a battle under these circumstances

Well when you get it going its easy and involves no skill, but before you get it going i admit its really hard :+1:

Hidan is correct on the whole atra situation. As long as they keep making money from players spending for atra etc they wouldn’t care much for changing the nebel/atra strat. If they did care I think they would have done something about it a while ago.

I’m with you with your main idea, but I think they should keep the gatekeeper location

I don’t get why the nebel-atra strategy is so good.
Could you explain?
I know all their moves and stuff, so you don’t have to explain that

necromancy = infinity stun bomb and then you just make as much duplicate as you can.

So the answers I see most is:

  1. At the moment it’s hard, and that’s fun: which is a reasonable response, I doubt that it is fun for most people though

  2. They make money of the current system, so why change?

Which is a weird response. That’s a short term strategy, banking on the players you have right now. But if you actually want to grow, you should focus more on pushing out more game modes that keep you active (island challenge is a perfect example).

They should advertise more.

They do way better balencing customer feedback with income then other companies. At least the listened to us.

The drafting event started as a suggestion and the devs made it.

I hate this event tbh. The only thing that gets you farther in it is what numbers the RNG has given you when you are playing the game. You get farther based on dice.

Oooo, but this only works for this type of events, cause in pvp it would be easy to counter.

Also that strategy just got even more op with cosmodragon (i think thats his name)

Jip, with cosmo it only takes half the amount of time, so instead of blowing up nebel/atra strat they just made it stronger

Well its just strong in this type of challanges and can be blocked by autopoison so i don’t think it needs a nerf

Even in this kind of challenges it could be countered with a gate keeper, all auto poiseners, poison revenge and poison gas monsters, in all other events youre right, its already useless

agree

I’d like to see you try. I am at floor 1000 at the moment and I can assure you I’m the only one that is not using Atra / Nebel or Polareon in top 10 at the moment

Check serapheon his health - that is one dreamhunt worth of damage at floor 941.

Any single attack and my goldtail is gone. One mistake and the fight is lost . Battles are at 30 minutes at the moment and can only go up.

Not to mention the level 500 and 600 gatekeepers both include a Banedragon to break sleeps open

wow… that must be a lot of patient. Your top 10 now? With my humble team, I doubt I can break top 100 lol
