I think as a community we have become numb to it. Very few of the waifus designs are acceptable for 9+ years of age. We should have made a harder stand long ago.

Nah can’t be serious 
The previous waifus, no matter how sexy, were practically impossible to see as if they were something unpleasant. An example of this is Bastia, she is practically naked and yet, her face does not show anything sexual, which makes Bastia not look unpleasant (finding a waifu as iconic as Bastia is practically impossible) Another example is Majorie, Majorie the Hair is the only thing that covers her breasts, yet finding a more serious face than Majorie’s is difficult, the characters’ faces completely change the way you see them. Bridalith and Charybdia even if they redesign their faces they won’t stop writing unpleasant verses, they should be completely redesigned. The idea of fur has always been one of my dreams. Imagine seeing Botan-Douji in a wedding dress! or seeing Carmilla in Japanese summer festival clothes.

They were under ntt resonant for years. Probably after they parted ways they could have the “freedom” of design as they are more or less their own independent company now. (I have no idea about any of this btw)- I did notice after this time they started with the lude designs, and they are just sneaking more and more over time. It’s very sad to see they have to be so lustful on something that started as a children’s game. Imagine if pokemon suddenly released stuff like this, albeit it’s a massive company, the situation would feel more or less the same.

I think the turning point was the release of Evertale, and them getting data from it. The hentai designs probably sold well and with dollar signs in their eyes, they decided to implement them to Neo as well. And sadly it probably has increased sales. It’s nowadays really really common and ‘the easy way’ of making a quick profit.
don’t know exactly when it all started, probably with Evertale, but not with its launch. At the beginning of Evertale the designs were not of the Hentai type, they had armor and characters like Misha had quite a bit of an animal design. At some point their designs changed and they began to work for a more perverted audience that apparently paid more for naked women, leaving aside male characters and monsters.
Yeah I remember that… And then the same happened in Neo Monsters… And we never even got male humanoids in the first place…

One practical trade off though is that while I think the gameplay mechanics are great I wouldn’t recommend the game to others because of the inappropriate designs— im probably not the only ones so these designs may also be very limiting for their growth

i agree with the skins, not so much the monetization. Could do something similar like the current bq rather.
Hats off to you @Killerdog. The devs have finally taken the first step for, I hope, changing the artwork for the better. I am sure that without this…catchy title this may not have been possible. Not just KD but all the other too who have commented on the ‘Charybdia’ poll too. I hope everyone votes so that we can see a few changes. Fingers crossed!!
