Donāt worry guys, Iāll BM them back the next time we face
Never had anyone bm/disconnect on me out of the 40 games Iāve played this season until these last two matchs in a row. They had the opportunity to run but they didnāt.
I know that the devs rarely punish this behavior during off season but I figure Iād report them anyways.
Make that three times in a row. Must be my lucky day.
Dude has never used the run button, always disconnects. I think action should be taken because itās ridiculous of how long hes been doing it
Dmann 1/2 people i play against dc , i guess they hating my team then
@Dev_VKC umm, this guy has gone literally years using this ign with what Iād assume have been zero consequences . I do find it a little amusing that he might have been using this name longer than Iāve been using mine, but donāt you think itās time something happens to him?
Whatās bad with his nick? I donāt understand
I assume the NGGR is for the N word, or is it an acronym for something? Either way, itās not immediately obvious so you canāt really expect a Japanese-based company to pick up on stuff like that
Itās not? Tbh I was thinking it was comparable to someone having an ign like āAfold Hilter did nothing wrongā when it comes to being an obvious name filter bypass but I guess not. I mean, you can even try sounding out āNGGRā and it sounds like the hard r. I can see it being less obvious for a japanese based game tho
Yeah itās debatable. It can also be an acronym that is unfortunately close to the problematic word. Just talked to a German guy was an exchange student in the US, in German they use the word āDiggaā for ādudeā or ābroā and he said he had to be kinda careful so that nobody got upset. It feels sometimes like people have grown a bit too sensitive about this stuff.
Yeah, they donāt have to check every ign but this one is pretty obvious, similar to what loki tried to do with nazi symbolism
they should ban this Killerdog persons name for animal cruelty.
If it wasnāt coupled with āMcStainā I wouldāve always assumed it was just an acronym for something and read it as the letters. The US is far more sensitive and on the lookout for the N-word than most other countries, probably due to it having greater social significance.
Either way, I agree itās not an appropriate name. If the Devs have the means to change it to simply āMcstainā and notify the user not to use inappropriate names then that would be great.
and maybe add more names into the bad names list. When you know you know
I can confirm that in german the word āDiggaā is used by young people to call their friends.
Ja Digga = yes man or yes brother or yes my friend.
The N* word youāre referring to doesnāt exist in german with that sound, and is sounding completely different. Also that topic doesnāt exist here in any similar extend like in the US for example.
I also only understood why it could be upsetting after reading the followed posts.
Iām sure only english speaking countries will think like that, japanese definitely not, so the devs would not ban it, because if nobody reports, they cannot see a problem in that name.
Iād say itās more just people being sensitive to different things depending on their culture, age, etc. Iām sure there are plenty of other topics youād feel ātoo sensitiveā about. Maybe loki thinks weāre all being too sensitive about his nazi ign. Of course, hatās something weād disagree with him on because of various reasons, but the same goes for the N word and the significance that word holds.
No question about that but I think if something ācould maybe be seen as offensiveā we shouldnāt automatically assume the worst. Just my opinion.
The problem with that is the only reason it falls under the category of ācould maybe be seen as offensiveā is because you guys apparently canāt sound out āNGGRā. Hint: it sounds identical to the hard R. The intent of the ign is crystal clear.
Another thing Iād like to add is that Iām not even upset about this username, which I hope was apparent in my first post. Iām more annoyed that you took the āpeople are too sensitiveā route when you previously made some BS argument about cultural sensitivity in the monster design thread. And btw, that wasnāt me being culturally insensitive since the person who posted that drawing was taking it from Japapense culture, where chibi artists try to not draw naked children, and added their own twist to it.
Iām not denying that it could be a racist nickname, what Iām saying is that it could also be an unfortunate acronym. Itās definitely in the grey area.
Also, for what itās worth, I know what chibi art is supposed to be and for me personally it was ok, but I know that other opinions exist. I clearly expressed this in the thread so not sure why you brought it up here? That topic was discussed extensively between mods. And it doesnāt need any more discussing.
