As I play through this game’s story with various goals and restrictions, I have noticed two things. The first is that a ton of game mechanics are not actually needed to do well. And the second is that the NPCs are much more skilled than we give them credit for. Between Beritus building a new team for each battle, or Marco holding off five skilled trainers at once, these characters are clearly extremely skilled. So skilled, in fact, that I began to wonder whether or not such achievements are even possible for an actual player.
So, I have come up with seven PvE trials, based on characters in the story, that I hope will show the true limits of the community, and of the game.
Rules:
-
No hacks, no cheats, no glitches, no P2W. While I understand that completing these challenges will take quite a bit of grinding, it wouldn’t be very fair to use methods outside of the main game to progress.
-
No Purpie. As a wise man once said, Purpie isn’t a monster, it is a cheat code for PvE. While this is a bit specific, I just don’t really see the fun in the conclusion of ‘you can complete all of the trials easily, but only of you happen to roll this one particular monster’. If you do obtain Purpie somehow, just go to the monsters menu and destroy it.
-
Proof standards are judged on a case-by-case basis. Video proof is preferred, but just showing your team, as well as screenshots of your monsters to prove that you didn’t break any rules should be enough. But, if you are unsure of how much evidence is needed, your player rating is a pretty good gauge.
-
Follow the rules as closely as possible. If, for example, there is a challenge that bans epics, and you accidentally roll a epic, then, so long as you don’t use it, you won’t be breaking the rules. However, without video proof, simply having that epic is suspicious, so it is probably best to just delete it.
Challenges:
1. Hector’s trial
According to the bard, Hector became the grand champion with no ranch. He was so skilled at battling that it made up for his lack of training. This is shouldn’t be too hard. Just do the same. Beat the Grand Four, as well as the first two online chapters, without training any monsters. When the game forces you to train during the tutorial, simply delete the monsters that you trained. Good luck!
2. Marco’s Trial
During two battles, Marco is able to fight against the player, Beritus, Marisa, and Thale all at once. While this isn’t possible to do as the player(obviously), we can attempt the next best thing. Thus, the challenge: beat all trainers on the cursed island without going into any towns, returning to othlan, or otherwise healing your monsters. If you fail the challenge, simply close your app and restart your device before you get sent back to Othlan, and you should restart the day. The only other restriction is that you cannot do anything in the online section except for the main online story. Good luck.
