Thalazaar 💖 (Poll and Discussion)

I believe it should have some restrictions

Unlimited replication without limits is already terrifying, and you have even increased your immunity to death, which is truly frightening

No its fine. One more reason to quit lol.

A nice guy was turned into a broken ■■■■■■■ and he won’t be nerfed. But the random nophiam is done. But the random nophiam got destroyed because he was a cheap guy which is a problem for the p2w

They shouldn't give immunity to death and revive many times to each monster they bring out and nobody wants because it's very bad, they only make the game very repetitive and if they are going to do it at least do it in a balanced way, you have to let this monster kill all the monsters he wants until the end because if not you run the risk of him summoning 10 of them the same as him

We’re open to making adjustments to Thalazaar before its next release.

Feel free to provide feedback on its performance especially in PvP.

We’re currently considering adding a cap on its revival since our AI struggles to deal with it.

A cap at 3 revivals (1 → 2 → 4 → 8) with a 66% chance, or a cap at 2 revivals with a 100% chance.

It should only revive (split in two) one time with 100% chance at 70 to 80% HP. It’s more than enough

3 or 2 revivals with 66% or 100% chance, both looks fine.
To rebalance the power creep you can reduce the tu from 200 to 160 or can give a aggressive ss like instant slayerbreaker or swift dual slayerbane.

Edit-
3 revival= 1+2+4+8=15 copies that is too much

Probably you can consider 2 revive( first revive 100%chance and second revive 50% chance) and skill rebalance.

Change the replicating ability from 66% –> 33% –> 0 each time it or it’s copies gets killed .

How about not reviving at all and give it a proper moveset? And test it before release next time? Is that so dificult?
AND STOP GIVING DEATH IMMUNITY to every single new mythic , it will be this game downfall
Bastia needs it not every single revival monster

Define proper moveset.

To be honest, you thought my rework idea was too much, meanwhile you came up with something we should never even see in the game :joy:.

I still remember you saying we need to be very careful with HongHua because a mythic that can clone is dangerous for balance.

And now we end up with this… hundreds of copies of the same mythic sitting in reinforcements, another example is Kasumi with a completely unrestricted SS, and Astra (no comment needed).

The only ones that actually have a proper restriction and balanced design as revive or clone types are Shi Na and Jeanne.

What baffles me the most is that no one in the dev team thought (or was listened to) that 66% → 2 clones might be a bad idea… and clearly no one tested it either (shocker, I know).

Your AI struggles with a lot of things nowadays. Death immunity is one of those things, cloners is another. Then there’s Alyce and Pandora. I’ve thought about this a bit and decided that in the end it’s a good thing. It forces us to play the game more instead of just auto battling everything. Because currently even one Astrajlyth in the opponent team can lead to a defeat in PvE auto battle.

I also need to chime in a bit with Coltraz and Unown. Coltraz in particular has been very critical about your team’s monster testing in the past. I’ve always thought that he was overly critical and exaggerated a lot. But now I’m not sure anymore. Because not many things can explain this change you made to Thalazaar. How on earth is it possible that it got out in this condition? Did you test this or not?

I will copy what I suggested after release:

Thalazaar

  • Speed: increased from 53 to 73, shifted to full attack stats
  • Adverse Smash [130TU]Void Adverse Smash [100TU]: deals damage and greatly restores the user’s HP
  • Plasma Blast [200TU] → [160TU] (general adjustment for all monsters)
  • Energy Blast [250TU] → [200TU] (general adjustment for all monsters, including Stellaurum)
  • Instant LINK RAW Devour → replaced with Passive Skill: Terror of the Depths[When this monster is defeated by an enemy and the enemy survives, two Colosseas are added to the next in line of your reinforcements]
  • Imperial Scale → updated: [DEF boosted by 200% when HP is 50% or higher. When HP is 50% or lower, the monster gains a permanent shield. This effect will not activate if your team has zero reinforcements remaining]

Colossea

  • Speed: increased from 53 to 73, shifted to full attack stats
  • Double Energy Burst [200TU] → [160TU] (general adjustment for all monsters)
  • Adverse Strike [100TU]Adverse Smash [100TU]: deals damage and greatly restores the user’s HP
  • Royal Scale → updated: [DEF boosted by 100% when HP is 50% or higher. When HP is 50% or lower, the monster gains a shield (triggers once per user)]
  • Insomnia → replaced with Poison Immunity

Unbreakable shield under a condition instead of death immunity. Then limit the reviving. I think that would already be a good start.

Ok this shiz is just dumb now.

i remember when shiny spectrefox with 33% revival chance was a pain to face. This is ridiculous.

Making monsters that cant be killed in thier superbuffed form is a joke.

If you meet one of these death immune respawn monsters in buffed pve it can take out half of your team simply by existing. more moves need to work on them eg moves which instakill as a way of stopping a chain of kills like Punish or Ammityrants gimmick. Eg only instakill moves can be used on them if they have made kills.

That’s still true because the opponent can decide whether to kill Thalazaar or not.
Real players can find ways to deal with it in PvP, but not the AI in PvE events.

I don’t understand how your genius suggestion wouldn’t make it worse in PvE with a 100% revival chance. Is it simply because Thalazaar doesn’t have Death Immunity, and the AI can deal with it like a magic?
