EDIT- filled in some ideas for Virabbit, credit to those kind people down below
It’s a given that there are legendaries that need a serious revamp, but there are also tons of super epics that are totally sitting in the dark right now, and need some serious help. Most of them are seldom if ever even mentioned. They’re not only useless, but forgotten too. I’ll ignore the regular ones since you’ve mentioned before that you have a problem with changing something that’s been around since the very beginning of the game- I understand that. But these guys are a lot more recent, and it’s certainly not too late to save them. You don’t necessarily have to use every last one of the changes suggested for each monster, I’m just offering what I think will be best for them. The actual change is up to you. So, without further ado:
Caniswyrm
Why he sucks: While he’s got a rather diverse disruption moveset, due to his lacking speed he often gets knocked out before he can even use them. And what even is the point in having element eradicate only able to be used once? It’s his only offense move, and it ain’t exactly OP. He’ll just risk assassinate for nothing.
My solutions:
* Roaring entrance. A lot of you will probably balk at that idea after seeing what Icefang and Searguard have done, but hear me out. I don’t think there’ll be any question about him being useful anymore- having him will mean instant protect, instant stealth, or instant KBN. There’s no denying that stuff like that can easily turn whole matches around. But since he’s ridiculously short on offense, he can’t pull the same instant death to whatever enemy trick that Ice and Sear can. And let’s face it, there’s no way he can get more oppressive than Searguard.
* Replace Element eradicate with element massacre. Seriously, why wouldn’t you do this? There aren’t any useable monsters in the whole game with this move, and I’ve never understood why. It’d sure be nice to see a return of one of the first 2 moves we all ever see in the entire game. And this way he at least has something consistent to attack with, plus he can actually throw a punch.
Cryogolem
Why he sucks: Dreadfully short on assets when compared to the other super epic tanks. No purify, no stealth, and no stun absorb; only desperate double, which the dominating poison teams won’t even let him use.
My solutions:
* We have a poison immune protector and a sleep immune protector, so… how about a CAMOUFLAGED protector? This might just put this guy in a completely new light. Death chicken can’t touch him, Terror can’t touch him, Bane can’t touch him, Soulstealer can’t touch him, and Ziberius can’t touch him, along with many other fellas. Shouldn’t be OP though; he’s still stunnable, and he can still be poisoned. But with an ability like that, he has to be worthwhile. And drop fury mode for it of course, it sort of overlaps with desperate double.
* HP sharing sounds cool. He can use it to maybe help keep himself alive for another round of desperation, or instead even bring himself down into the sweet spot with it.
Hiberzor
Why he sucks: Sleep roulette is extremely risky, and sweet dreams is utterly useless.
My solutions:
Sadly, I don’t see any real way to save this guy. Diredemon already touched on his formula much more effectively than he did, and now there’s about no ground left to cover in that direction. I’m afraid the only solution is to give him a total rework, Gallio style. What his new arsenal does is entirely up to you.
Lunalord
Why he sucks: Too slow and the clones are way too easy to kill. Also, there’s far too much for him to do, and far too little time to do it.
My solutions:
* Change clone next to blood clone next. That’ll end the days of him being owned by auto poison, and he might even be able to take a hit without needing a heal.
* Change stealth entrance to shield entrance. He need all the survivability he can get.
* Change risky heal to a single use safe heal. A 60% chance of dying on the spot is really not helping his case.
* Stun immunity, beeoch. B)
Ogremaster
Why he sucks: Fast stealth can be handy, but there’s just no other reason to have him around. And single retribution is just so underwhelming.
My solutions:
* A revenge effect would be perfect; stun revenge perhaps, since he seems to take after Ziberius. Or maybe even mirror revenge!?
* Make the regular attacks assisted attacks. Seeing as an assist buff is on the horizon, this change would probably be fitting. Just release a fire type assist legend(I don’t think Lavaronix and Solblaze quite count), and the AF lineup is good to go.
Snowhulk
Why he sucks: Very possibly the worst one in the bunch; there’s just nothing going for him at all. He’s very good at staying on the field, but what’s the point in that if he can’t even kill anything?
My solutions:
* Give him excessive force. I think this would make him such a strong and unpredictable option. He’ll be an excellent counter for Shivadragon and Nightrider, who are both moderately oppressive right now. This way the opponent may actually see him as a threat, and a unique one at that.
* Better rebuild. C’mon, slight heal? For 100 TU? Seriously guys? Either drop to 50 TU, or make it heal at least half way. Or both.
* Make regen drop him at 20% instead of 35. He has desperate strike, so he might as well get an actual chance to use it. Speaking of…
* Give him desperate bite instead of strike. He’s supposed to keep his health high after all, right?
* Drop reckless attack, there’s just no point in having it when he has zealous. My idea for a replacement- protector killer. This way he’ll get even more use out of excessive force. I know that’s a lot of changes for one monster, but he needs these changes because he just sucks that much.
Rattlewyrm
Why he sucks: Stealth effects are hard enough to keep up as it is, and now with this guy the entire strategy rides on it. Poison destroys him, and sneak attack has too much TU anyway.
My solutions:
* Drop sneak attack to 100 TU.
* I think the only other thing that can really be done for him is to make it so poison does not remove stealth. I mean, right now poison is so strong and stealth is so weak that that move just seems to make sense. It’ll do Drakozord a favor too.
Sunlord
Why he sucks: WAY too much TU.
My solutions:
* What else? Lower the TU. I think 70 to load, and 130 to launch sounds good. Perhaps 100.
* Make it blow up two enemies. When you think about it, compared to some of the other SEs that’s really not so oppressive.
Virabbit
Why he sucks: Far too situational, there’s no guarantee that his allies will need healing when Vira offers it. Given the current meta, after most enemy attacks there won’t even be any monster left to heal. And as usual, poison wrecks him too.
My solutions:
* (suggested by arashrooteh) A passive ability where the first monster that attacks him gets knocked back automatically. Now that would be one heck of a deterrent. Maybe you could call it "repelling payback " or something. He’s a weird monster, so why not give him a weird move?
* (Supah and Luckyclaw) Replace bolt with purify. He should definitely focus a little more on support with that kind of moveset. He should keep timestrike though, he might as well have at least a half decent means of offense.
* (Supah again) Upgrade heal all to risky heal all. Give the guy a chance to hang around a little longer.
* (Now back to me) This might be a little bit overboard for a super epic, but seeing as his concept sort of revolves around viruses and such, maybe he can pick up a move like infect, where it puts an effect on an opponent, probably with a certain probability of success, and then when that monster’s next turn comes up, for just that one turn, it automatically uses a random move and selects a random target, so Virabbit essentially “hacks” into that enemy. That would be just… unspeakably awesome. You could probably make it treatable by purify so that it’s not too oppressive.
And last but not least-
Wolfrozor
Why he sucks : Same deal as Sunlord, too much time for a single kill. The damage buff helped, but the main problem remains unattended.
My solutions:
* Twin blast. The most obvious solution. Again, really not so OP, it’s not even a guaranteed kill all the time.
* Stun immunity sounds fantastic, he’ll totally stand out from the other three with this ability.
* Lower TU, just like Sunlord- 50 TU charge, 130 TU blast. And make the charge heal too.
* Life flip self isn’t really the best move for him to have. I have the perfect idea- attack boost all. We’ve never had this move before, and it’ll REALLY set the spotlight on him. It’s a huge list of changes, of that I am aware. But remember that Wolfrozor is currently rock bottom in Buck’s tier list while Rexkong is sitting pretty way up on top, so drastic action is obviously necessary. Besides, still not as bad as throw at 96 speed right?
Well, those are my ideas. Opinions and alternate ideas go down below.
And for tl;dr, just read the first sentence from each bullet point.
