SoulStealer Seriously out of Control

Drop to 20 and rip ss fl,30 is fine

I usually run both legendary twin killers up front so ss alone doesn’t worry me, when he’s also paired with oni or other one on one mons then it becomes tricky

The thing is it used to be something close to 30 and SS was really bad as a result, that was primarily the reason it was buffed.

There are readily available counters available, and easily accessible ones, but people just don’t like to use them. That and the fact that winning using SS comes down to RNG is what leans me away from nerfing him.

rng comes Into things but he very rarely doesn’t hit at least 2 of my mons, more often than not its 3 or 4

it’s actually a joke, first sleep all, hits 3 of my 4 mons again

I have a question for SS. If after it uses DSA and you use knock back on it, will the effects of DSA disappear or will it continue even if SS is at the back of the team?

Effectively think of DSA as a timer on enemy monsters. While SS is on the field that timer counts down. When it’s knocked back the timer stops, but as soon as SS re enters the field it starts again where applicable. The other way of halting the timer is to knock back the target, which again like before will mean that if the two monsters meet again the timer will restart

i think that is me you are facing lol @DNA Polymerase

I see, so the only way to completely stop it is to kill SS. Thanks Buck.

No, this would make it useless. Also, I haven’t lost one match that uses SS front line yet. It’s not hard to beat

40 or so is a good number considering it hits all your mons , 60 is too high makes all the other sleepers pointless to use

He actually has really good synergy with other sleep monsters. Shadow, metatherion, etc.

I wasn’t really implying that sorry if you miss understood, I’m just saying at the moment he really is the stand out sleeper other than goldtail he seems to be the worst of them all his accuracy seems far too high right now it sort of makes the worth of the other sleeps fall massively

He is definitely the most valuable “sleep all” guy for sure.  I mentioned this in another thread a week or so back.  Both SS and Shinobi (both of whom I regularly use) are listed as having a “medium” chance of putting monsters to sleep.  My SS has a FAR better hit rate than Shinobi.  I don’t think it’s quite as obscene as others in this thread are saying (I regularly use GT as a friend mon, and there really is no comparison), but I do agree his success rate seems to be the best of all the “sleep all” monsters.  But he’s a legendary who needs 320 for his main move to be effective – that’s as it should be.

Yeah I’m not saying it shouldn’t be effective I’m saying it shouldn’t be as accurate as it seems to be, it doesn’t cost much to use and it basically always gets at least 2 of mine to sleep, I’m not wanted a nerf as such just would love to know the percentage for the accuracy of the move, I’ve built a front line to counter him as best as possible whilst keeping the ability to attempt to take down other front lines too

40% is too low given the frequency of players hitting sleep all on all mons. Can you sleep four mons in a row with 40% accuracy? Very unlikely. Imagine sleep locking with that percentage in PVP or UC. It would be highly unreliable.

30-40% is the accuracy of a no star’s sleep all, that’s why they are hard to use in IC. SS must be at least 50%.

SS was the first Legendary I got, so I’ve almost always built my FLs around him.  I can say from experience he is awesome in PVE (with my current setup I win all SCBs on the first or, at worst, second try) but not very good in PVP, especially if you are facing someone 600+.  The liklihood of getting both your death move + then a sleep all move off before he is killed or reduced to hold ground is very low.  An easy counter many people do is to stun pulse.

I’ve went against him in a fl of him aegis, that sleep immune protector and oni, was horrible to break aka I killed aegis then lost the fl due to sleep all connecting on all 4

Yeah that sounds rough.  I don’t have Oni or Aegis.
