Punishment is deserved, but also passive. The best thing they can do now is admit their mistakes and apologize, and I think some players will forgive them. And so far in addition to cover up and escape did not see their sincerity!
If you think about it from an emotional point of view, itās natural not to believe it. Iām sure most players already know the truth, and thatās enough. I respect everyoneās opinion!

Iād consider forgiving them if they admitted to cheating when they got called out for it. Now it would seem like theyāre only apologizing because they got caught.

Itās just the fact that there are always players you will look up to. He always seemed like a good player who was active in the community. Thatās why i was suspicious at first
What about the fun they ruin for other people? In case you forgot, tuiyou beat a ton of players last season with the OP poison endgame I made for him (without knowing he was a cheater). Itās pretty obnoxious to find out you only lost to someone twice because they cheated to get gems. There should be something more serious for this considering how the devs regularly perm ban cheaters who donāt even affect other players.

I admit that Laxus is a very active player, and some players like him, and I respect his ability. But itās also true that he cheated, and he knows it.

Gems are the currency of the game, so if this is manipulated to gain extra, it is effectively stealing.
Stealing from the game/ company to start with. Also How many players lost battles, therefore places, therefore rewards because of this? Then thereās also the enjoyment factor.
Whether the players / clans mentioned in this thread are guilty or not, when Devs do discover cheating like this, they should make an example and decimate the account of whoever is doing it. Otherwise it will continue.

For the people calling for a permaban, there are 2 primary issues

Despite how bad cheating is, this does seem a bit excessive. Taking away what they gained(as well as a little more) will allow them to keep playing. The frustration of losing literal years of progress on an account due to what I assume was an impulse decision to hack(which in turn may have been due to frustration) would be unimaginable.

It might not be fully legal. Iām no legal expert, but taking away something that someone paid for is almost always legally tricky, especially when it is punishment for a largely unrelated violation

As Aero said, break the ToS and the company gets the right to do pretty much what they wantā¦ legally speaking. They can contend the severity of the ToS violation and therefore to what extent the company gains full control but legally our game accounts are already the property of the company and weāre playing the game at their leisure. Any money we spend is with the understanding that weāre gaining access to virtual goods still owned by the company. What the company is giving us is entertainment and any money me spend is going towards that, not ownership of what we buy.
In this case theyāre using a modded version of the game to run cheat programs on it. The creation and use of a modded APK is illegal because ZigZa owns the rights to the game they created so it cannot be modified or duplicated. Hence, for people using the modded APK they forfeit practically any rights to the ToS and for the creator of the mod they could face actual legal claims against them.
(I think Iām right in all I said here)
But of course as players what we really care about is just the cheaters getting their cheated stuff taken away, a punishment and the cheats themselves getting stopped so we donāt have future cases of cheaters or some that didnāt get detected and have got away with it.

Maybe I just missed something, but I was not aware of this. I assumed that they were somehow altering legitimate software. The arguement that duplication of the app is illegal is MUCH more ironclad.
