Should pvp rewards be solely ranking based?

As it stands the current rewards are obtainable for lower level players, but the current system is very grindy. In addition to this at the high levels the matchmaking is so long that getting through ten tickets can take hours at a time simply because it takes so long to find a game. 

The problem is this post is a little bit selfish, personally I’m very strapped for time right now and I still want to compete without needing uninterrupted hours in which to do so. So I am posing this question to those who would be most affected, which is those who struggle to reach the high rankings.

Would you prefer the ranking rewards and victory rewards to be merged and the brackets spread out down the ranks (e.g top ten prize now is closer to top 200, top 50 is top 2000, so on so forth) or do you think that would make the event more difficult for you?

Unless they could prevent ha-ckers completely from PVP.

I think it could work, but only if done right. Currently it is the only event where everyone can get rare gems from it. If they make the ranking reaards soley ranking based then they will be removing a large part of what makes the event so appealing. The other problem with ranking rewards is that there are a limited amount of them. This excludes many people from rewards that they could have gotten from persistence. I would say the way to go about it is to have a rankings list of wins and top battle points. Then have your final ranking be based off of those. So someone that got 70 wins but only reached 700 pts max could potentially beat someone who won 20 times and reached 900. Then make all the rewards ranking based.
