I was just thinking that rankings for future pvp events could be based on battles won instead of points. That way disconnects and other problems would not matter as much because you would only lose a ticket and not drop from 1st to 25th because of a disconnect. The best players will win the most battles and the devs could also leave the current system in place for matchmaking and tiers to avoid people getting easy fights.
Granted, the problems will be fixed in the future, i prefer the system we have atm. Its the typical elo system which is used in most esport games.
Yeah I feel you, had at least ten disconnections, so I’ve lost between 200-300 point just due to that. It’s okay as long as this is not going to happen when the placements are gonna be rewarded
I only had a disconnections in 20 battles… If you ask me, pvp really improved from last time…
For the rankings i think that a system based on how much you win it’s unfair… If you have a system like this top players will match top players… You defeat a strong enemy but your victory counts like a victory of a level 30 player… Maybe they can intruduce a sort of coefficient of difficulty… For example… You are against an enemy with 400 points… Coefficient = 1,5. Your win count as 1,5. Now you are against a player with 600 points… Your win count for 2 points… Total victories = 3,5… A mixed system like this would be fair for me…
I think they need to sort out the disconnection losses… But people would find a way to just quite the app and lose no points though.
The thing is with just wins, is that each win is not equal, i could play 10 people really bad because I got lucky in the matchmaking and win all ten, whereas someone better than me could play 10 matches against really good people and only win 7. That’s why the points are really good. More reward for beating the better people! And only +1 for me if I beat anyone below 400

What if the battles won were also ranked by difficulty so you would have 10 wins against someone with 600 battle points would beat someone who has 15 wins against someone with 500. Just thinking that losing points for losing is going to be problem for awhile with dc and other glitches.
Much like the ultimate challenge? Assign a ranking at the end.
I think you have to define what top rank in pvp means?
If it is by win total then it isn’t skill it is whoever had the most time. Someone could have a losing record and be in top ten.
With point system it is about rewarding a winning record against strength of schedule and on top of that not having to grind just for wins…
I think point system is necessary. I understand the disappointment in dc’s but that shouldn’t be factored in because they need to go away 99%
If it’s by total wins it gives lower ranked players to get a reward , in that for their level, they are the best (in theory) but it’s a bit easy to abuse. It would maybe work if they have tiers? Have a rank per level gap say maybe?
You can lose on purpose and feed wins off lower level players.
The fact you can’t add more tickets slightly reduces the having more time thing.
But they must be able to tell the difference between a disconnect and a forfeit, but I suppose you can’t tell a legitimate disconnect from someone pulling their connection off.

If it’s just battles won it’ll be who spends time grinding out the battles. We don’t want that, we really don’t.
Besides, points are only awkward because the pvp connections are a little awkward and the tiers pretty expansive. Fix those and you’re golden
maybe they could construct some sort of algorithm that determines how tough an opponent is, taking into account his number of monsters, how many 4, 5, and 6 star guys he has, the total cost, the variety of elements, the decisions he made, etc. so that you get a score relative to how hard your opponent is to beat.
sounds more like a round robin tournament tbh.
Honestly just basing it on total number of stars in the team would probably get the same sort of result.
Well let’s look at it now. Where all the ppl that are on the forum at? Mostly in the top group. So I think the system works bc as you move up the ranks the tougher your matches are. And with the penalty of losing to harshly you can not go higher. And you can’t just grind it out bc of the ticket limit. So I think the way it is, is the best way. There will some ppl that figure out how to scan it but then we will have to come up with a way to stop it.
