Yeah same here, I was excited to play the event…
I’ve got a GOOD idea for PVP which helps people like me who might be moving up in levels but don’t have a good lineup of strong mons (I have no legendaries whatsoever).
We have four teams we can compile… How about for the PvP if we are say level 75 and we wanted to play in tier 2 we could select tier 2 but would be prevented in joining unless our team cost is under 137 (maximum limit for those on level 65). My team would get absolutely slaughtered versing opponents with multiple legendaries. I don’t see how else I can enjoy playing this game unless the PvP set up (or mon cost) is reconfigured as I have completed all missions and chapters and only play for gem challenges/PvP challenges. Unfortunately I have stopped trying to rank up because I am scared once I level up beyond 65 I will be slotted in with teams far far stronger than mine and PvP is only fun if get matched with teams who have similar strength to you. IMO the legendaries (some in particular) are much much stronger than a cost of 13 to a team.
Ok so what is stopping a level 100 from selecting tier 2? Is this only available to people within a certain range of 65? And if so why even make levels anyways and just have everyone pick a tier. The only way I could see this being doable is if tier 2 got worse rewards than tier 1 making good players simply not pick it
Pvp is not fully out yet just give it time and you will catch up don’t expect to be able to beat players that been playing for months just yet in due time you will be a full level 100 pro
There’s no rush and all events repeat in some way so you won’t miss out
I was also dissapointed… the day the event started (which is 1 AM for me) I played like 6 matches and managed to hit rank 1 before going to bed… I woke up at rank 25 and found the event closed… better luck next time i guess
I have been playing for a couple of months. I could be rank around 70 but have stopped ranking up now (level 65) because my team has no legendaries. When I get put up against teams with lots of legendaries (even one) I get slaughtered. The only way I got through the online missions was through having friends legendaries join my team (I have completed all chapters and all missions). When I talk about ranking I mean levels as hunter island defines rank 1-100 (as in ‘rank up quests’). I did not complete rank up quests, omegamid, riches challanges last time as I do not want any more XP (I want to be competitive in PvP). There is no way my mons could be competitive in tier 1 competition.
If I were you, I’d suck it up and reroll.
If you have no legends and no good monsters at all I would do the same
Nothing but they would have to meet the cost requirements of tier 2 players with the team they are putting forward. No I believe many users will still compete in tier 1. If they wanted to make use of their best legendary lineups they would have no choice but to select to compete with a tier 1 costed team as the cost would be too high to compete in lesser tiers. As is there are no worse prizes as event rankings are based on the tiers (which is a good thing). The only complicated part about my idea is that a high ranked player would have to choose at the start of a PvP event which team they are putting forward. Because then they could have four different teams competing for four of the same prizes (whether it be a super epic or gems). The prizes should be the same (as they were for the last two PvP events) between tiers. There would be inclination for higher ranked players to drop back a tier to make use of highest cost allowances but the whole point of most players on here (the PvP events) is to put their best teams against the best others out there. However the current model doesn’t work for some including myself who are relatively highly ranked but are without any legendaries (so are naturally uncompetitive at the highest tier)
The way it worked in the past two PvP events from my understanding is that players were grouped in tiers (I think there were about five or six) but for some odd reason tier 1 were players 66+ rank (to 100) which is a huge tier! Tier 2 were players between 55-50 approx to 65. In my suggestion the reason players would choose to forgo some of their cost allowance to meet tier 2 requirements (which I believe is a max cost of 137 as I have completed all other sections of the game and am on level 65) is because they do not have legendaries to take advantage of further cost increases. I would not mind putting forward a compromised team if it meant I could compete fairly with others in PvP. At the moment there is no option to put a lesser team forward. PvP is solely based on ranking and not based on which team you have selected out of the four you can compile. It sucks for someone in my position as if I rank up any more I will be competing in tier 1 against players who have multiple legendaries (even in tier 2 many players have legendaries but at least I can compete, in tier 1 there will be no chance).
Of course this is extremely frustrating as I want to complete riches/omegamid/rankup/element quests but cannot for the risk of gaining XP that will automatically rank me up to be in tier 1 so I have stopped playing the game waiting for the next PvP event. I’m not spending anymore on gems as I have rolled 30+ times with no legendary so my use of neo monsters now is just waiting for PvP events and the occasional free gem. When I get five gems I then will for a festival egg and hope to get a legendary, depending on which tiered legendary (I may or may not roll in the next year) I will rank up. To me there is also an extreme difference in the power between legendaries and super epics made more so by the recent update which buffed up the moveset of select legendaries even more. This alienates players who have been playing for months without any legendaries out of the game.
Yea and i’m saying whats to stop me (lvl 95) from taking my legendaries and just joining tier 2 to destroy people with no legendaries if this is implemented?
Nothing but under my suggestion you would have to sacrifice mons to meet the cost requirements of the tier. I’m not sure but I’m guessing if you are on lvl 95 you would have a max cost of around 170? Meaning you would have to sacrifice at least 2-3 legendaries from your lineup to compete on tier 2. IMO legendaries should be costed more as they are worth far more to a team than a super epic. Of course that’s biased but seriously I would rather have one good legendary then two trashy super epics on a team. Cost should be closer to 20 IMO
I agree with Overzealous, Tier one would have to have better rewards than tier 2 for this to work.
I could still make a team full of legendaries with cost of 137 that would destroy a team with no legendaries… I’d do that of the rewards and everything else were the same.
You probably could but the way the game is structured costs should reflect the worth of mons to a team. I really think legendaries are undervalued at their costed amounts. At least it would be somewhat more competitive than the prospect I’m facing. Maybe I should give up on PvP and just hope they bring out more chapters/missions but it will be agonising knowing that other players are having fun competing for gems/prizes. There would be nothing stopping me from giving it a go but as it stands my team with no legendaries would get decimated in tier 1. So I’m in a holding pattern waiting for announcements to see if they will change the way PvP is organised, if the next one is the same as the last two times I will probably rank up anyway and not bother with PvP (even though it’s the most exciting event on the horizon)
I think the rewards should remain the same between the tiers to encourage participation for those just starting out with the game (or mid way through). It also makes sense from a devs perspective as they want to provide events that will get novice and mid-level players hooked.
You would I’d trade three or four of my super epics for some of those legendaries you have. I have a lot of +1 +2 dupe epics. Here is my team and other mons: http://imgur.com/a/WyrhPI have about 30 fully evolved epics (including about 8-10 dupes) and about 10 fully evolved super epics. Recent super epic from the PvP isn’t evolved yet and I have another two epics that haven’t evolved. Four of the super epics and nine epics are from events or those initial island missions if I recall correctly, the rest are rolled (so 8 dupes, 30 epics, 11 super epics, 49 - 4 - 9 = 35 rolls). I’m amazed at teams with 5+ legendaries I have to imagine they roll 200+ times. IMO I think they should raise the max cost allocations towards the highest levels and increase the cost of legendaries (20 was my figure and to me that’s a conservative estimate of some of their worth) as well as subdividing tier 1 in three (66-78, 79-91, 92-100 eg.) I think I have one team turner in Gearwolf but the mon is otherwise fairly weak.
As you can see I’m cautiously avoiding ranking up: https://imgur.com/7HKh2POthe reward is a gold key I saved up for a long time (no more gems).
Most of what I’m reading from you is to discourage spending. Making legendaries cost more? Different tiers with the same rewards? Whathe incentive do I have to get legendaries and focus on getting stronger then? Seems like you should just stop whining and reroll. I rerolled and never got another legendary other than rexo until this past Saturday. In the events I’ve tried really hard in, I end up in the top 50-100 region. Sounds like you need a better strategy. Lol
Yeah, everyone starting out wants to have the same amount of legendaries as someone who has been playing for a year. Someone who has been playing for a year though could easily beat someone with a team of legendaries only using epics and a couple super epics though. Just watch Jralthouses video in the annonymous challenge. The devs give enough free gems as well, so you could be patient and just try to win legendaries that way or you could spend some money and try for some.
Wouldn’t it fix all your problems if they just changed the tier levels instead of going through different tiers with different rewards etc. let’s say tier 1 gets changed to 85-100 and tier 2 is 65-85 and say tier 3 40-65.
A very wise player once said “a very powerful army falls without a great leader”
You as the player can easily defeat teams of higher cost and better monsters if you play smart and make the best out of every situation.
There are free players (shomy and Zard are good examples) who can defeat 90% of players who have invested in this game. Time, dedication, patience, and careful planning are the keys to victory in this game.
Also there’s nothing in my opinion that should prevent players who have been here supporting the game the longest to not have a chance at better stuff than new players? The new ones will become the veterans as time goes on and as they invest their time in the game.
It’s not to discourage spending it’s to make the game more competitive and equitable with legendaries reflective of their true ability in a team. Is anyone seriously suggesting I could build a team and have a strategy to defeat Scruffis team full of legendaries with my epics/super epics? Different tiers have had the same rewards for the past two PvP events (if I’m not mistaken) so that’s not changing anything. I have ended up in the top 150 for the Caniswyrm challenge I have completed every Dojo challenge and the three Count Lector’s arena challenge events (with a little help from Wahab for the Master battles) so I know how to use mons strategically to defeat teams (skip turns, stun entrances, poison alls etc. etc.). Not saying I won’t learn anything over the next nine months but I have accrued a lot of skill in the past three months. I don’t think any configuration would overcome Scruffi’s team. If you have some suggestions (even though this is not the team builder thread) feel free. But there is an obvious power difference between those who have legendaries vers those who don’t on the same cost level. When I started playing the game I was under the impression cost levels linked to your ranking was a means of making competition fair. I thought people collected legendaries for new skills and as completists not because they offered an unfair competitive advantage over those without them. And even though I’m a relative newcomer to this version I did play the old Hunter Island on my iPad a couple of years ago when you could time egg rolls much easier. I stopped playing but came back to it in it’s Neo Monsters form.
I also strongly recommend restarting and only rolling festivals. I had an account before and I had no legends. I restarted and now I have 4. I got shadowyrm from rerolling.
Yup, it’s only your fault if you have 0 and didn’t reroll. Now, that I have 3, I fully believe I will be in the top 50 of every event, especially as I get into the 80s and 90s hero rank.
How do u use ur shadowyrm? do u use him in the frontline?
I save up my gems for festival eggs. By “rerolling” you mean when I first started I should have made sure I got a legendary by deleting then reinstalling until rolling one?
