You mean the monster built to punish the opponent’s team for using protectors can now guarantee to punish a team with 2+ protectors on the field even if one of them is Sanctistag?? Wow, this sounds like a terrible balancing job

The raw repulse getting around protectors is pretty cool too. I like that buff for Icefang, it’s very fitting.

Yes.

And his repluse is guaranteed no monster can protect you from it

Well, gravity field and unmovable do the trick but now I’m being “that guy” I don’t want to be by pointing out the niche cases. A roaring entrance repulse that is guaranteed to hit the monster you want it to is definitely a useful secret skill to have… a bit more worth the +3 cost compared to before.

But also remember that due to it being raw, no one can protect HIM, either. Sure he’ll get a repulse off, but should be easy to retaliate.

Remember that the repulse had TU increase last update…

That’s a nice thing, I agree.

Eh, Twig vaporizes mythics and legends if they are Protectors. Null can’t do anything to them…Also most token monsters faced in PvP are in fact Protectors. So that tree will have plenty of targets. Comparison is not fair I agree. Not fair for Null.

I picked up Nulltron in Island Challenge this time and it’s a bit nuts with give turns around it. Between execute, stun converter and give turn it can get loads of turns and raw bloodthirst can attack around protectors. I think it’s doing fine, it even got the raw buff this update

The RAW buff helped. My concern now is that Nobody will use protectors at all so RAW and this tree will simply act as a deterrent. Will we ever utilize the RAW buff?

I think you’ve gotten a little too heavily accustomed to the protector heavy meta lol. They were never intended to be that prevalent; usually 2-3 is considered a balanced amount, if any at all. 2 in a team of 16, odds are if there’s a twig in the other team they may not even meet him at all. Protectors haven’t become unviable at all, they’re still good, but only in moderation. Btw if you’re afraid of Twig specifically, then simply pair your tank with Scarleguard, Tygoron, Regalion, Husking, etc. so they can stop him dead in his tracks.

The thing about AP spam is that it was a very cheeky, unconventional strategy. I could run a team with nothing but sleepers, or I could use One on one + triple megabomb/novablast, or I could run the classic stun bomb spam into last bite if I so desired, and I could win with those strats if I happen to be paired with the right opponent. But most of the time those teams are gonna get stomped, because they’re cheeky, lack versatility, and they don’t adhere to the intended team building plan, and are thus harshly punished for failing to do so. AP spam fell into the same category, the key difference being that it legitimately worked, to the point that even the monsters designed specifically to counter them were overwhelmed. It was never meant to be a strategy that could consistently work, and yet it did. So the devs had to address it, and make sure it has every bit as much to fear as other dumbed down, low effort strategies that no one in their right mind would use. People are still allowed to AP spam if they so desire, it’ll even win matches occasionally. But they can’t expect to get away with it for too long anymore.

Any powerful team needs to test and think for a long time, and you have never played the ap spam team.

Yeah, I got heavily accustomed to using the balanced amount you mentioned. Lol I’ve used 2 to 3 Protectors just about every season except the last two. Was using 3 together during the last few seasons before the special rule PvP. Thanks for confirming I’ve been balanced in regards to protectors for almost all PvP’s  I’ve gone through FL’s with Nulltron, Galvbane, Draco, Dolph, Tygo and others. Most of the time I used Drako as a legend Protector. You see when one has slow monsters one has no choice.

You are dreaming if you think building a team that can compete in top 20 or higher is a dumbed down low effort strategy. Initially AP spam required very careful building. It only became dumbed down for those that started copying others and pasting other people’s team. But those that started using it and we’re competitive had to build a top team. Every slot was for a reason.

You see this argument of startegies being brain dead is brain dead in itself. That could be said for any successful team. BB spam was the prime example. At first It was very good team building. that’s what made it strong. The copycats were the ones that didn’t use their brain. Having said that, EVERYBODY copies some element from somebody else. Most strategies are a combination of borrowed elements from other users.

Lets stop calling AP spam a strategy.

It was just playing to the law of large numbers. Throw enough 60% blockers out there next to a camo monster and the odds were always well in your favor.

The greatest strategy in Neo history. You have much to learn Padawan.

I wasn’t referring to your team specifically, was referring mostly to the people that stuffed their teams chock full of them. If you’re using 3, then they should be reasonably spread out through the team so that it doesn’t feel like spam at any given moment.

I know AP spam wound up lots of people but as strategies go it was legitimate. There was no reliable counter to it, that was the problem. Only difference between AP spam and other strategies which haven’t had proper counters to them is that AP spam gave a negative playing experience as it was constantly facing RNG and the person attacking the AP spam didn’t feel like they could make any intelligent decisions with their moves and targeting because their attacks were being redirected.

I hope we can stop all bashing on the strategy and players who used the strategy. It’s gone now… let’s all be glad.

You’re right. When i go to vegas I’ll tell my wife my strategy was to keep betting red.

If you used AP spam you would have made the luck God’s happy. They would have been with you in Vegas.
