I totally agree
Sorry but I don’t have time for Line. I’m only going to do stuff on the forum. I have 40 legendaries, hero rank 178. I’ll upload screenshots of my list view in a minute…
All the good legendaries which I like to use are +3-5. I’ve also attached my general PvE team (6) and my current PvP team (8). You may notice I don’t have any poison legendaries at all… it’s getting kinda funny for me now but thankfully I don’t mind. I’d also love to have Stormloch and/or Goldtail so I can create a reliable sleep lock but I can’t expect to have everything.
If you want to discuss anything with me then feel free to message me on the forum here, I’ll usually reply quickly.
Doesnt matter how many legends you have killerdog, nor how good you are. You just have some very interesting views about the game and can make great conversations in the line group
But time is more important, thats i understand. Im there and talk whenever i can, im drowing in studies usually and dont have much time as well
Yeah I was just sharing that info because you said that’s what you were interested in
Thanks for understanding I don’t have the time. Also, thanks for appreciating my perspectives. I spent a lot of my time studying the monsters. This game has a million moving parts but there are some core parts to the design which I try to recognise and understanding the reasoning.
For example, here’s some observations:
- monsters with purify are given 90% speed, with some even being given stunning entrance
- protect monsters don’t really have higher than 80% speed, 60% is the usual
- give turn monsters have 30-40% speed (roughly)
- monsters which can inflict sleep/poison have 30-40% (roughly), with exceptions only happening when it’s unreliable sleep/poison like sleep roulette, one-on-one or they have a weak/unreliable follow-up move like poison siphon, poison drain or link poison eater
- monsters with stun flash have about 30% speed
- monsters with knockback have 20-40% speed
- monsters faststrike have about 30% speed, this was previously ~60% (like other monsters with indiscriminating one-shot moves) but this was later nerfed as it upset the 40-60% speed balance
What do all these slow speed monsters have in common (except faststrike)? They set up other monsters. Many fit into certain strategies which you can have your whole team built around. Keeping them slow means that there’s good space for things to counter them, which is where all the monsters with killer moves come in.
Any exception to the “rules” above are very interesting. To name a few we have Galliodragon with 96% speed and stun flash, Soulstealer with 65% speed and a strong sleep all and Deathgazer with the speed up passive which ultimately gives him high speed. However, in all cases we can see reasons why… Gallio’s quick stun flash can be stopped easily by any stun protection, Soulstealer usually uses DSA first which actually makes it slower to do the sleep all (but this 65% speed is still what makes it an excellent FL monster in the lower PvP tiers and in PvE) and Deathgazer is ultimately a too reliant on a very slow poison massacre for damage output which kind of fits the above rule that exceptions can be made if the follow-up isn’t brilliant.
So that’s a bit of analysis on speed and monster movesets for you. After deeper analysis on that stuff I’ve come to admire the design of things much more in this game and it’s why I’m very unhappy when people call for speed/damage buffs to monsters all the time.
Eh deathgazer is a weird example cause it was stupidly broken when released, it was designed as poison setup but turns out when you have zib an 80 speed TT kinda breaks the game. So initially it was far more aggressive but has been nerfed into a more control/passive style
Also there are a LOT of exceptions, mainly because the SE monsters are kind of like templates, with legends deviating from them. You look at any legend and it probably does the same sort of thing as an SE but better
Gotta say, poison works quite well for my current setup - even against a full team of legendaries. I guess it’s because a lot of high tier players don’t actually consider a counter for an aggressive poison play? I’m fairly new to the game, so I have to rely more on 5-star than 6-star monsters for now, as I’m not spending much money on it.
Sure, a buff to maybe PS or PM would be nice but overall, I can’t complain too much.
At higher tier there are alot of poison counters:
- Shocking entrance. Usually poison lines lack of stun protections, and if any - they rely on stun immue give turners which not alwayd help.
- Chrome with toxic killer and roaring entrance. Tbh any roaring entrance will do it because of the high tu of poison attacks.
- Purfying mist - completly shut down bane / vulc.
And more. At lower tier younare right - poison can be VERY lethal. At higher ranks too, but you never know who is running a counter, so its not reliable.
All true but pretty much the same goes for other builds. There are always counters to this or that, depending on the situation of course. Though, since I don’t have a wide selection of legends to choose from, I have to build my team around the ones I got to bring out their strenghts and hope that it’s effective enough. I might shift to a different build after the new years event (depending on what the egg hatchings will bring forth) but at the moment at least, poison works well for me.
poison can still be good at higher levels just needs to be used a little different than in past also poison can still be effective in leads zib bane vulca is still very good
Tbh chrome is the only reason poison isn’t as popular as it was, it’s such a hard counter to it. And when I say poison I don’t just mean bane Vulca, I mean the autopoison midlines that held the midgame for a good 6 months or so.
Purify is annoying but not really a counter per se since the tu of poison touch is so low
If you have time for forum you have time for line. It’s not like you have to talk every sec but i understand and you should join line. You got good set of leg and you could become a better player with our help. I see some things in your lineup you should change to do better
I know what you’re saying but the forum gives allows me to choose how much time I spend more easily. I’ll get sucked in by interesting conversations on Line and generally spend too much time on it.
With regards to my PvE team I know there are some tweaks I could make to it. In all honesty I just like to play about with some fun monsters and make sure it’s an all-round type of team. Crim is in there to try him out, but he doesn’t work in his current position. Soulstealer could be swapped for something better and Penguinator doesn’t work too well when I’m trying to keep enemies asleep but I like having them all with Shivadragon for fun. I’m planning to make a new PvE team after the monsters I get at new year. Gotta keep things fresh!
Interesting conversations on line are usually Ice sending memes and Jamal y’alling everyone
You should join
And people complaining about a monster. Doesn’t matter which one, every monster has been complained about at some point or another.
Goddammit now I’m derailing the thread. Bad Bucky. Bad.
Gove yourself a warning
