Every detox monster has a weakness.
Devs wanted to shift meta to poison. Back when it was stun people whined about stun. There’s always gonna be one type that is more powerful.
It’s funny tho that Frost Cobra and Abyss Raider are SEs and are the ones that really made the final push to poison. That’s a good thing, by the way, because everyone can participate if SEs are driving it.
I used to have an excellent counter to poison but it got nerfed 
Poison has always been strong though, it’s just that cobra especially has been pushing to make it more available without a bunch of limited legends. I guarantee if the mortar monsters were all in the normal eggs we’d be complaining about the mortar meta instead.
As far as countering poison goes honestly the easiest way is to just focus on value. Most poison monsters are generally reliable but low value sweepers compared to newer monsters, there are a few notable exceptions (bane and terror) but the majority are single target with pretty high tu, so you can beat them by using monsters that simply generate high raw value (revenarchion, delugazar, etc).
At least that’s my experience of them anyway.

Well yeah, because as i’ve alluded to in my post, I think poison is really powerful. But I havent got Bane or Oak to work with though. I haven’t seen anyone else run the strat I’m using with Hellfox so I thought i’d try it

Easier said than done.
purifiers are normally absorbers or prone to stun. Stun hasn’t disappeared completely outside of motor. Even if you’re using something like shiva+absorber, you’ll spend most of your time purifying than attacking. Unless you mist (at the right time), you instantly concede to vulcaroth’s SS.
As for detox mons, you can’t do anything about them. Can you simply purify against cobra+abyss+terror or nereida+abyss?
Outside of poison and chrome, how do you beat poison inducing mons without having to charge a bloodmove/sacrifice a mon? The bull is unusable so that’s not an option because it can’t ohko the water mons or any legend reliably.
So until more toxic killers are released, poison is an unhealthy meta. Not that it bothers me…

But I didn’t imply that poison is impossible to beat. As much as it is iffy purify is a way to beat most forms of it.
Poison is unhealthily strong, but not downright broken.

Agreed. You can easily damage poison. It just negates so much, such as sleep, HGround, overwatch, stealth etc
