If so, how? We don’t get ads. And i dont think they have any outside investors besides NTT (altho i coild be wrong).

Come on man. Is it too much to ask for a high quality game with limitless content, rich graphics, gameplay and no ads that doesnt cost the users anything?
Besides. If 4 times a year we knew that an event was coming, would cost 300 gems, let you battle and solve your way through levels, capture monsters you battle, and encounter and captuee a festival featured legendary, all you F2P could just save your gems knowing it was coming.
And if you dont have the gems and wont spend the $ then you just miss out like you do on 8/10 festivals in a year.
Do you say its unfair when you drop 300 gems on christmas and then miss out on New Years? No. You make your choice.

Getting people to play each day is gonna bring in more money. That’s why all these mobile games have daily login bonuses. What I meant was that eventually some of these “free” players will spend. They will tell friends. Their friends will spend. You want as many people as possible using your product. It’s just gonna increase the chances of making more cash. Having a large user base also looks good on paper when looking to get new business partners and investments.

Everything I said was with the presumption the legendaries on offer are not limited high end legends. I was thinking of Nox type legends. It’s different if they are festival legends. Then yes it’s a different way of hatching an egg then.
I think the devs are talking about adding permanent extra storyline. If they do what you are suggesting offering festival eggs at limited events with extra story, then 300gems will be ok if we got the same amount of legends with a 300egg hatch. But I would say that the 300gems should unlock the legends not the story. Nobody should miss out on the fun of experiencing new stories and puzzles.
Offcourse it’s optional If it’s a paid product. If it seems worth it I’ll get it. I’m talking mainly about how this will effect newer users who buy the game for 1 dollar then need to spend extra dollars to unlock storyline. It won’t go down well.
I feel like it would be more fun if instead of a set legendary in a certain place we could have an array that are able to be found all over the island but a very low percent chance of actully finding them let alone catching eg 4% chance that the monster battle will contain a legendary. We could also do that certain parts of the Island have a higher chance of monsters having a certain element eg more chance of finding a water monster in the water
You may as well release the content for free and a new monster in an egg guaranteed in the 6th pack. Maybe it would play out a little differently and they’d make more money by turning it into a paid bit of content but it could just as likely wind up a lot of people… free players who feel like they’re paying for content that should be free and paying players feeling forced to open their wallets for some content.
To be clear. My only objection to paying is paying for extra storyline and crap legends that can be found in the extra storyline. I got no issue with paying for skins on monsters. Or for obtaining high end festival legends in a creative way at the cost of gems.
But, it will be unusual if payments aren’t made with in-game currency. How inconsistent it would be if we can spin eggs with gems but not buy skins with gems. All payments will be in gems I guarantee.
Frankly as much effort as the devs put into this game free play shouldnt even be a thing. As little as this game costs and as much as it delivers we should have to watch an ad every time it loads at the very least.
But i see what youre saying. So maybe a free mission but only for 300 gems do you get to keep the monsters that you encounter.
Outside anniversary offer there is no such thing as free play. They charge One dollar for the game😋 I think it should cost a bit more though, but I don’t have their data. They know how many active users they got. The retention rates of downloaders. how many of those users spend money on top of the upfront one dollar payment. How many of those users are whales or Goldfish.
They know what their overheads are. They know how important it is to maintain a big active user base. The value they place on that is obviously worth a lot more than we think. Otherwise ads and more money grabs will be in the game.
I’m pretty sure if advertisements or more in game purchases are needed in the future they will implement it. With everything there are pros and cons though. I do feel that One dollar is cheap for such a game without ads but I don’t know what they know, and considering they were willing to increase user base recently with free downloads I’m pretty sure they value getting as many people as possible into the game more than instant cash. It’s an investment. I agree we got a good deal though.
Dude, don’t diss katt. In this light meta he can just rip apart a team with 40 tu attacks. my team is mostly light monsters and oh boy when I saw him… I knocked him back but then my opponent switched him back few turns later. What a nightmare…
