yeah so cybereon can be used as a key monster in a team that got top 10 so lets make it S+ tier lmao that’s not how the tier list has ever worked
I agree with pretty much all of this.
Cybereon can do one thing only and it can backfire splendidly. Canishogun’s speed and low cost are insulting for the power of the strategy he bring, and he’s extremely solid in his 13 cost state to boot.
Don’t even compare them.
I wasn’t comparing them I was just using as an example for why placing a monster on the tier list based on their “full potential” doesn’t work. Cybereon with it’s full potential turns a game you are losing into a huge comeback but there are obvious reasons why it is still B+, same with why canishogun is S tier.
Not really, because no matter how well you build your team, if you’re losing and your oppoent has a Stun Converter, Stun Counter or Stun Absorber on the field, then Cybereon is at best deadweight, at worst actually harmful for you.
You could say the same about Canishogun’s AoE, if not for the fact that he’s one of the fastest monsters in the game. And regardless, unlike Cybereon, he works as a generalist just as well.
I agree with what you said just now but I don’t see how that lines up with what you previously said.
Full potential doesn’t mean best case scenario. A monster’s risk and reward need to be taken into consideration, and Cani allows a top tier strategy at low cost with very little risk. (plus the rest)
If it were an S+ strategy then everyone who has it would use it and you would see it all over pvp. That is definitely not the case. If you were to look at cani aoe that most people use it would look like an A or A+ tier strat at best. At least half would be B+ or worse.
I guess we found where we disagree.
Cani’s AoE is everywhere, and why wouldn’t it be since it’s so easy to blend into Link Water (Jaws) and Link Fire (as you’ve shown), another 2 top tier strategies that surely are happy to be given all that extra team cost to work with.
ps: I wouldn’t consider Cani’s AoE top tier if not for how well it supports Link, which is in my opinion THE best strategy at the moment. Not counting Mythics obviously.
If you are losing to teams that can barely make it in the top 100 all I can say is git gud most cani teams are not that hard to beat
I’m not, however replies like these make me belive I hit the mark.
Lol Duck, tone it down a bit. You definitely can be proud of reaching Top 20 with Cani AoE Spam but it’s Not like there are only three People that use him correctly lol. I think I could name you a lot of names (more than 10 or 15 for sure) that could get top 20 with a Cani team if they wanted to. It’s not like it’s a secret that only three people have access to ![]()
Lol that sounded pretty dumb when I said that. I was referring to this specific pvp season and seeing people using it well was pretty uncommon at least in my experience. People tend to migrate to OP strategies when they have easy access to them (like AP spam before the nerfs) so idk why we didn’t see more of them at higher brackets this time around.
Its because after all entrance control remains the best strategy in PvP and Cani AoE isnt very well suited to set it up. Dracarys proved that you can do it and Memento Mori proved that you can be very succesful with Cani AoE even with a slightly different approach but in the end most top players have strategies available that are more suited to work well with a entrance control setup. Thats why its not that common. And with this I think we should end this topic here and leave the tier list thread to what its actually about: Discussions about the tier list
Not gonna lie, I ran Megalodragon for the first half of this PvP and last months PvP because I expected Cani AoE teams. Hardly played against any this PvP so I took it out halfway through.
Glad you did!
Most of this stuff is being done, but I’m still not a big fan of Icefang. Icefang can be used to set up a shocker (or similar) very effectively but other than that niche use it simply doesn’t kill protectors or sweep effectively at all. Flarevern has received some popularity lately but that’s mostly to do with Dusicyon being everywhere, both because it counters the enemy Dusicyon and it’s that shield on entry which makes Flarevern so viable. I don’t think it deserves a position higher than A. I’m glad to hear you like the newest legendary too, it’s growing on me the more I look at it.
@NMEduck Guesswhosback already told you to tone down the rudeness so I won’t repeat that. However, please don’t go bringing up Canishogun in this thread. I’m already sick of seeing Cani discussion everywhere and you’re one of the main reasons that’s the case. If I see you or someone else having a Canishogun nerf/balance/strength discussion here in this thread sometime soon I will remove all the posts. This is for tier list chatter, not that stuff which makes threads explode into 100+ posts in under 24 hours.
