Don’t compare him to Megalo. That monster has become so niche he is borderline useless. He is only good for Cani and maybe Twiggy. Such a specialist monster. This guy has a lot to offer.
Megalo doesn’t have the ability to nullify revenge effects tho
How is Megalo niche exactly?
Perhaps not the best comparison but it has the ability to nullify cani teams
Before the nerf MEGALODRAGON was insane. There’s no doubt that the previous MEGALODRAGON is why lot better than this monster. He could just skip turns and use Sonic strike which has been nerf.
Are we really going to rule out adding death revenge as a potential way of buffing the porcupine
The problem is the ELEM Stealth All. Having that at high speed on a SE is too good. If it didn’t have this move it could easily be 70% or 80% speed.
They seem to have struck a balance. This SE is not one-dimensional so it’s not simply about killing a special rock / plant then sweeping with bloodfury. Instead it can support link water teams and/or sweep if there are targets for its attacking moves.
Overall that probably makes it a lot better. Monsters like Twighoul I’m rarely going to use in PvP because they are terrible when they don’t meet their ideal scenario.
I already said how.
Sonic strike gets every super fast front line and Assassinate punishes protector strategies, so what you’ve said so far isn’t really true.
I was hoping for some additional input that would maybe share more light on your reasoning.
It mostly punishes fast strategies and rocks but most protector frontlines just run stag
The 10s window restricts to only countering the super fast front lines. Raw assassinate is only damaging enough to kill low defence, high speed legendaries so even when there is a protector it’s not always going to do the job.
It’s not as restrictive as Twighoul, but not many things are.
Aren’t 80+ speed front lines the meta right now?
Most Protector strategies use Stag in the FL. In fact many teams use Stag in the FL.
Assassinate is weak.
Mega is Good for Cani, and a perfect counter to Twiggy. He was released not long after Twiggy was released. I would even say the Devs released him as a counter to Twiggy when you look at his very dilebrate speed and the timing of his release.
Also, players are starting to use Cani with Stag to counter Mega making him more useless. Or they run Mega with Cani to counter the other Mega praying for RNG to be on their side.
Twiggy is the ultimate Niche monster. I would put Mega not far behind. I enjoy leaving him alive on the other team as dead weight.
What I said on my earlier post is true.
Not everyone has Sanctistag though, and those people need to run something else.
I also think Mega should throw retribution strategies off their game a little as well, and leaving him as dead weight seems super risky. I mean it does get bloodbite after a single kill.
It doesn’t really look as bad as you say honestly, but I’ll admit that what I personally run is out of the norm, so I’m mostly theory fighting, which can’t beat experience. I do see your point now.
One more point I forgot to mention. He is Virtually limited to the FL.
Need upgrade another version of steamhawk and robinator.
Assasinate with stealth penetration

I got this guy in Island Challenge and can tell you that you will probably never see him in PvP. I really like his art and unique moveset, but he doesn’t have very many targets to get going with herbicide.
These are plant-type monsters that I would say are common:
Oakthulu
Draco
Bronzeshell (in one way or another)
A few that are seen from time to time:
Sakuralisk
Baublebasher
Willowyrm
Aboribratus
Other than those, all of the other targets for herbicide are rarely seen in PvP.
Agreed I also got him in IC. Also Nullifying strike doesn’t deal that much dmg and I think it should ignore Shield and HG.This Monster is too slow we can at least get that Nullifying strike an excessive force.
