šŸ† Neo Monsters tier list (see first post) šŸ†

It seems

In the next pvp sasoin i try to make a video from some fights with her

That was the join Guesswhosback was making. Everyone and their mother has been telling me it’s crazy Maeve is in D tier but they don’t realise it’s only because I haven’t updated the tier list since her buff! Also, ironically her damage being low was literally the one problem I had with her originally and why I was telling people she was bad.

Guesswhosback suggested A tier to me because he’s literally seen my notes where I’ve written she’s moving to A tier. I think S- tier is too high. Reason is, she’s very strong in a FL setup for the shield + kill/KB any enemy of your choice at high speed but you have to give up a second slot in your team to do that.

Many people right now are opting for F.D. Iris… a monster that’s stun protection but basically dead weight in the front line. Accelerate team is useful but not enough, especially when there isn’t another option. Literally everyone has stun protection in their front line so the stun gun isn’t usable, at least until after Maeve has removed their source of stun protection. Ultimately Iris is fine but doesn’t stand out as a powerful backup so as front lines go it’s nothing crazy.

F.D. Clover and F.D. Rose are the two which are actually very strong, Rose being with poison teammates who set it up for the first turn (or at least auto-poison for one enemy to be poisoned after Maeve’s turn) and Clover being there to start a sleep lock. I think there’s potential with these two, but with either of these two then one of the other two slots needs to be stun protection. I’m not ready to call it very strong until I see it get built and do well. Generally speaking, when a monster HAS to be used with another monster it really restricts what you can do with it.

P.S. I just realised as I wrote that last sentence that I own F.D. Maeve myself, lol. I guess I’ll try messing around with the various setups and see how it feels.

Great to see you want to follow my suggestion and admit to your initial mistake of underrating her. Mistakes can happen. But as you know: I’m always happy to help you to get a better understanding of the game

:rofl::rofl:

I disagree slightly here. Most people don’t have Aethereon, Sakura or Bastia, so a lot of stun protection they use opens them up to weakness like Chrono killer or assassinate. I think just having a weakness to stun killer is a small price to pay, for a low cost stun protection and it’s a useful SE.

Also, if you run times up in FL, then stun gun is going to be really problematic for the enemy. I’ve been using it a fair bit, and stun gun’s ability to take something out of play has been frequent and very useful. Bloom, shiny fox, Angelion (does nothing because nothing died yet) etc etc.

For me I think Iris is a good choice for those who don’t have top tier stun protection, especially at a low cost.

Maeve’s popularity speaks volumes and I’ve personally used her a lot. You wouldn’t believe how good a bypassing payback killer is! Especially for rocklock. I’d genuinely consider moving her to S- tier @Killerdog , but that’s just some friendly advice from a Maeve user last season.

i used maeve 2nd form since i got her in August last year alongside iris and beetlebrute (who i would again say is often underrated) with iterations of Salvia (not mentioned for some reason but clearly one of the more useful flutters), Lunactia and Arachna. she was really good back then.
now she has the damage boost she can OHKO things like Kattmander or Orca who struggle kill her without multiple moves.
her FD knockback move is one of the most useful in the game. Awakened Dragulus has Raw knockback as a 1 time use SS (albeit with lower tu) - Maeve can basically do the same thing unlimited times in second form lol.
She can remove herself or a deadweight flutter from the battle and in her 3rd evo she can shield the team so she is also a support monster.

basically-

Negates revenge
Sweeps
Summons
Disrupts
Shields
AND has boosted stats with high speed and insomnia.

As much as i hate seeing people using the combos i was using back in August last year i have to say that she was last seasons meta for a reason. (not just because mantisamurai exists either)
She is S-Tier imo.

Strangely she’s pretty much the same as shes always been in PvE though.

Also worth mentioning that because of mantisamurai combos iris has more chance of using its bomb if OoO gets used.

I agree that salvia is relatively underrated, one of the better FDs in my opinion. For a while I was using it in combo with Daffodil, which made for a very efficient low-point-cost killing machine.

I think it’s ranked low just because clone mons don’t tend to fare well in pvp, since a human is much better at prioritizing which copy to kill to end the chain. But, for Salvia, the auto-protect makes it trickier to target the one with the active blood clone (if there are multiples on the board), and the fact that it spawns with a shield makes it
extra tricky to pick off the next cloner.

Anyway, I find that he sticks around just long enough to do its job, which is to protect something with a blood move to rack up some kills.

It’s in S tier. That seems too low in your opinion?

Yeah it’s a nice protector, definitely strong with the other flutters

Hi @Killerdog . i know you’ve probably already read my VS Buffed top ten PvE monsters and i was wondering if you wanted to work with me to make another tier list specifically for buffed monsters since a lot of your tier placements for PvE don’t take this into account - for example Dolphoone vs buffed is probably an A-S tier whereas vs regular you have it as E.
I don’t mind helping or doing the grunt work. I’m probably going to try and make one at some point anyway, however I was hoping to get your insight and experience.

also while I’m here carmilla straight S+ tier. lol.

No actually I missed it. I don’t keep up with everything on the discord.

Are you meaning another tier list for here on the forum or on discord? I don’t think it’s worth adding and maintaining a third section here, but I’m happy to help give some input if it’s something you want to create on discord

Dolphoone isn’t worth using against super buffed monsters in my opinion. There are way better options. I wouldn’t place it E tier, but it would be nothing above average. Unless you’ve personally found it to be extremely good? The way I see it, the revenge is only slightly better than DR so I’d rather have a DR monster that adds something useful while it’s on the battlefield. It’s hardly 4 guaranteed kills unless that part of your team is full control and then there are simply better options for winning.

11th in UC with it FL. its accelerate team can be useful. guaranteed death sentence = 4 guaranteed kills. way better than dr (especially useful for buffed poison teams). though Admittedly i set my team up to survive when i fight buffed. the emphasis being on death sentence strategies.

I don’t know if it has been adressed but I have been testing Sageroom in my team through several events.

I’d give it a pretty solid Ranking (for PVE) between A and S Tiers. There were several instances of battles that I struggle with. For example Dungeon Shortcut Battle 3, Game of Hordes Extreme Level 10+ and others that either have insanely buff monsters or just endless enemy reinforcements.

In both cases my team was wiped out without sageroom but remained within the first four monsters with sageroom onboard.

Team in that case was Sageroom, Aurordragon, Tenebris and a Cryptblade followed by Anglomaiden.

There is a rather big ā€œIFā€ involved but IF you pull off a case where you turn three enemy monsters into Musharoo, the AI does not sacrifice them unless you leave the fourth monster badly damaged when it is their turn. So you can basically lock three positions of the enemy team with a musharoo and can pick off their reinforcements one by one. Granted it takes forever to get through 40 legendaries or 10 super bufffed monsters with 20k+ HP but I for one managed to pull of quite difficult battles with ease through that move.

It goes a lot easier if you can put a strong defense monster in your team. Unfortunately I have none to test with, so I go the ā€œemergency resourrectā€ route with Cryptblade and Anglomaiden.

Although I believe the ā€œoverexcitedā€ skill to be bugged atm. Once again with my team: (EDIT: inserting pic only worked on Chrome :D)

On my Sageroom it keeps showing ā€œoverexcitedā€ regardless of present monsters in both my team and the enemy team. So I am not sure, whether it currently has a bonus or not.

In PVP I believe it to be too easy a target to be any high tier.

Does anyone else have experience with Sageroom?

Just a troll suggestion lol , move zhulong to S in general . It finally got a buff after such a long time  definitely deserves a rise in the tier list as well .

This alone says very little, it’s one monster of your 16 :stuck_out_tongue: How many kills did it often get and were you playing it around DR monsters with, say, an Aurodragon setup? Because I would’ve thought if you use it alongside death/payback revenge then 2-3 of the sentenced enemies would die to your other monsters anyway, so it works out as a delayed 2x DR or something?

Yeah, Sageroom is another one of those monsters which can trivialise PvE. It takes more work/luck to make that happen though, plus it doesn’t offer anything other than that. It won’t be placed low in PvE, but I don’t think I’ll be putting it super high.

Sageroom always says the ā€œoverexcitedā€ while in a battle… it’s just saying it has the passive, not that it’s currently got the switched stats. If you click on the monster in the time bar you’ll see what stats it has and you’ll see it still has high defence.

I’m still figuring this one out but it’s definitely improved in PvP at least. In PvE it is certainly better, but it already has a good tier there (S-) so not sure if it deserves S tier. What makes it great is the 70TU link stealth all with very high, controlled damage (sneak attack) and it survives well with poison immunity + HG. Double bloodthirst is not necessary there, but definitely handy as an extra damage option.

fortunately I prefer to use strategy rather than rely on luck of DR/Auro spam - though both were in my team, granted. usually phoone got 3 if not 4 kills.

this was my team. usually phoones revenge is activated before any actual attack happens, unless i get an early ankou.

incidentally next uc i think I’m going to make a team without any mirrors, petrify revenge or DR clones.

Anyone have any thoughts on the two new mons? The mythic seems pretty dope, the ledgend looks tricky to get going (blood move wise, I mean).

I partially agree. The ā€œturn into mushroomā€ instant kill ability is one of the strongest abilites in PVE. A lot of ā€œInstant Killā€ or ā€œLethal Damageā€ abilities don’t scale properly to super buffed monsters. But you are right that there is a lot of luck involved in setting conditions just right. I would put Sageroom as a ā€œS-Tierā€ support monster specifically for PVE as it has the ability to keep the AI teams from functioning. Other than that it brings very little to the table. Especially because the only ā€œattackā€ it has instantly kills the musharoos. Therefore once it served it’s purpose of creating the musharoos it only becomes a shield. If instead of the overexcited ability it had something like auto taunt, It could be quite overpowered.

Placement is tricky… Support role in PVE I would easily give it S tier.
General role in PVE maybe B tier?
In PVP it probably will be similar to staticsphere. It will not be able to use its abilities to any noticeable capacity. So also between D/E tier.

Interesting team! I would not have expected it to do as well as you did. Geartyrant with no sleep/stun control falls flat in my own experience. I would count Spectrefox (s) and Vigziarid as wasted slots because there are plenty of monsters which offer a lot more. I guess what pulls through for you is Dolphoone/Onigeist, then Tortogeist+Aurodragon and the Chronotitan+Geartyrant combo. Or perhaps your three ways to get an enemy monster (Horrorclaw, Tortogeist and Angelion) often give you the tools you need to win a battle.

Did you fire off DSA from Onigeist at the beginning of each battle? I’m wondering because I would’ve thought that would overlap too much with Dolphoone’s revenge. Spectrefox I can imagine you often used soul exchange on? Was there any particular section of your team that killed a lot of the enemy team very well? My gut says it was Shivadragon + Chronotitan more than anything else. How well did Vinegazer do at the back?

Mythic (Carmilla) is an exceptional mix of being ridiculously tanky as well as doing efficient sweeping that’s got practically no restriction. DR to top it all off is a bit silly… it seems overpowered and very generically good so we’ll probably see it used a lot.

Legendary (Shikabloom) is not tricky to get going at all. It wants to be used with beasts, but there are loads of good ones that exist. Union sneak attack one-shots basically everything and you can always get a second kill with protector conversion (plus set up union sneak attack again) if you don’t have beasts around when it gets another turn. If things really fall apart, it can remove itself with protector conversion. It’s a very hard to kill sweeper that is a big reward for building around it properly.

Somehow I didn’t notice that Shikabloom had camouflage… That makes him like a more useful Tagosenshi.

That’s really too bad, out of 60 eggs I got 3x Pandemonium and nothing else . I did get a copy of the mythic, which I’m very happy about.

Ive got enough gems for one more pack, but that will bring me well below 50 gems and then I can’t use the shrine… On the other hand, it’s been a very long time since I’ve seen a festival egg with mons this good…

EDIT:
I now see Pandemonium is in the S tier.
… Why? I would not have guessed him ranking higher than Lionheart, what exactly am I missing?
