Neo Monsters Growth

Now I feel I have to say a little bit because I am concerned about the game’s future. I don’t have a degree in marketing or anything, but I still feel like a lot of the players here may have great ideas to promote the growth of this game, or the players will dwindle in the coming months and our hard work and dedication will be for nothing but a consumption of time.

How do we get a large flow of new players to start the game?

  1. I believe the game should be free to download and play. Many people search for free games to try. Is the $1.00 for each player really going to be worth it? I would say no. If we have 500 new players that start, that’s $500.00 and most will likely not be buying in app purchases.

Now if you make the game free to download, there will be more likely of 2x the players or more who will try it. I guarantee that out of 1,000-2,000 players, at least 100 will make in app purchases. Even one pack of 48 gems in America at $28.00 with 100 players = $2,800.00.

To me, that makes much more sense than the initial $500.00.
Now the key to getting people to continue the game is our next issue.

  1. Making sure new players get an amazing “first look” at the game. How can this be done?

The first thing I would do is instead of getting 8 gems to start, give the players 50 for a free 10-1 roll.

Some of you may say “whoa we never got that lucky” well no, not everything is fair. I tend to look for games that are relatively new so I can start not too far behind the top players.

This game has been out for a good long time now, so an incentive to help the new players stay and also catch up a little bit to where most people are is what we need.

Give the players full training points so they can train their new monsters and have the feeling of building a strong team with a variety of different monsters.

  1. We need a common place for every player to refer back to. With all the money the devs just made on this current egg, it wouldn’t be hard to have an official website. All of the monster information could be found there and a link to the forum etc.

I want this game to explode with activity and grow, but it won’t get there by itself.

Obviously some advertising on other apps or websites etc would help as well but I have no idea what that costs. Feel free to give an input on your ideas to help the game grow.

  1. I agree here, game should be free. Speaking for my self and everyone i know - i never buy games on playstore. This was a one time thing: i downloaded it for free but couldnt enter online, so i decided to buy it because i really liked it. Alot of my friends want to try it but something about buying a game on playstore drive people off.

2.agree again. Achivements was awesome for exemple, that what new players needs. They need alot of rewards and free stuff to start with, to feel the power a lil bit. 50 gems may be a little to much, mainly cuz they will get a legendery so soon and easy, and will be bummed that all others of their monsters are weak - and it will hard to get a legendery again. Thats why they removed chrono from the free gift i guess.
About the training points i dont agree, at start its all about the training, every evolution excite you. Also you expirience all varience of the mid evolutions, and each time you get a new move - you learn better how to use it and how the game works.
3. We got fandom wiki or something like that. All monsters are in there. I use it alot

I would add this:

The first 10 eggs of the game are when the players think that epics and superepics are great. So if we move away from a flag chance at a legendary or superepic and move toward an increasing chamce system, then we can make new players happy while not handing them free 2-3 legends.

I do actually agree with you about each evolution being excited. I just know it was tough to get my first couple monsters fully trained. Maybe just double exp or training points for a week or something.

Also there could be a great bonus for player referrals. Even if they could get a free trial or something and you get rewarded for referring someone it would help.

And I agree the wiki is nice, but there is no place where every single player can go that is connected to the game. It’s dispersed between the forum or Facebook or having no communication at all. I think communication is a huge thing in this game and the people and competition is what has kept me here this long.

I think the download should be free as well tbh, the standard model for IAPs is free entry, and it’s standard because it works.

The trick is to have a relatively big gap between top and middle players, but a small one between bottom and middle. That way you have both a reason to stay and a reason to spend. People move away from games where you’re forced to spend, but if given the option to pay to make things easier a lot will take it.

Game being free is a good idea but it requires a cost if lets say 2x players join we would need a 2x server from what we have right now.

Also for example supercell gives special deals but not all the time… meaning certain months one or 2 days the gems cost less if you buy 150… this might work in neo as well, as such would probably cause a lot more to spend

Or when you reach a certain rank you get a discount for a given amount of gems… so 50, 100, and 150…give you 40% for 150 gems… i assume such would cause a lot of players to buy… as it worked in Clash royal

What was well done in my opinion, using the achievements to give a sneak peak whats coming in terms of the online and offline mission.

I completely concur on the advertisement thing, this game desperately needs a way to become more widely known. They should pinpoint particular places to do it too, like smogon to attract proficient RPGers, or maybe Deviantart to get some artists that will maybe start drawing some cool fan art. Who knows? And yeah, I also agree on the free download and easier beginning.

Oh yeah, and I had an idea that I threw at mike a while ago. If somehow a big youtuber like say, Markilpier came across this game, it would be a monumental boost in the playerbase. Mark’s done a video on monster legends before, so it doesn’t seem too out of the question for him to do this game. If he were to give it a shot the devs would probably have to give him a sort of care package with plenty of legends to play with. There’s no harm in it since he’ll be moving on to other games anyway. You guys like it?

It might also be worth spending a little on Facebook and google adsense to attract new player that can spread the word of mouth.

Of course a central open portal like a website can increase the attraction to new players enormously. They can watch videos of the devs about this game and about players and their battles and strategies to get a better insight that temps them to try.

From there you could link the wiki, the forum and the app and play store so they have a short way to where you want them to be.

Even the line chat group or a Facebook group can be linked and helps the interaction between new or all players since we can have multiple groups.

I don’t quite agree to your idea of having a youtuber playing this game, as the roots of the game mostly consist of strategy and rather is limited in visual appearance… thus making it not very appealing for someone who has no idea about the game and the moves of monsters… as most people or gamers would look at the graphics first, which isn’t a strong point in this game.

As ahmed said more servers or another server are expensive so lowering the prices for different hero ranks for one pack only, wouldn’t decrease the income, but should increase it…

As right now many people want to buy but cant afford it, so giving them about 2-3 chances to get a special deal, kind of like a reward for having played this long targets these players (f2p)

Zard is a good example, of course the prices he is thinking off are a bit to low though, and shouldn’t be permanent either

My idea for the $5 legendary was never meant to be permanent. It was meant to be an offer that lasted for 1 day and came up only once per 1-2 months. As supercell does.

+1 for this it would be great
but im worried to the server if they can handle well more players.
regards to free gems i think let’s give a newbie a little bit challenge if they beat all the trainers on island. then 50 gems granted…
#ilovethisgame.

I think a guild system and an ingame chat would be great additions to the game.

I know Mike said they were looking into the guild system to see if it was possible, that was 3 months ago though and no word yet. That is probably a bad sign.

The social aspect of games can not be overlooked and having to go through the trouble of creating an account and joining the forum and then downloading line to have access to this great community keeps a lot of people out I am sure.
I also agree to most everything on your list Alt

For me, an in-game chat is the most wanted in the list. Sometimes I saw some Koreans like me in this game but I could not do anything to connect to them. Yeah, I feel so lonely over the fact that not many Koreans play this game and even if I found some, It’s like they are 1 million km far away from me.

I’d like it if there were more things to do in the islands. Maybe put some SEs available to catch. With a low catch rate. Or make trainer rematches available. That way new players have something to do while they stack up on enough legendaries to do things like uc or dc

. I think the devs is not trying to be so popular, all it wants is a good amount of players who will put some money into the game. By pricing it $1, they can conclude that their players is upto spending money into games… Also, the more players, the more money they have to pay. I say that devs is pretty smart for doing what they’re doing now.

dont get why more players=more money to pay, i think its the opposite, more players=more spenders=more money=better stuff for us=more free gems for us :v.
Any ways, i agree with everything said here, mostly the special offers

yeah the game should be free. so many players would like to play this game

Since this is mostly an online game, they’re actually paying for the game’s servers. The more players, the more they have to pay.

but more player means more money  they will get
